Do you not think staff came up during the first round of interviews?

I think Nolan just wanted to leave.

Nolan is a good DC but he is not great. His defensive schemes can confuse the heck out of his players. The biggest thing though, is imo, he does a poor job of getting his players to play well early on and late in games.

Isn't this just another hole to fill on theie staff? Nolan was solid with our D. How quickly we forget Pasqualoni and that pathetic D.

I bet Nolan found it insulting that he wasn't considered for the HC position while his subordinate (Bowles) is in the mix. Can you say awkward?

Yeah, that may be the only reason Nolan left mracer...

I don't know what to think of any of the coaching stuff honestly. I'm feeling indifferent as I did much of the season.

  6. Did Nolan's contract expire or are they allowing him to break it?

If is just a matter of it expiring I would be curious to learn if any attempt was made to offer him a new contract or an extension.

I think Nolan was a decent DC and whoever our new HC is going to be may of wanted to retain him. I think they should of at least tried to sign him for 1 more year to see how he works with whoever they wind up hiring. It probably would be awkward if it was Bowles who did become his boss but thats always the case when you promote from within and why I would prefer that Bowles not be our guy. I think it would be better for him and us if he is to be promoted to the HC position to do it in another city.

Despite Nolan's Senior position as DC, I doubt he felt any animosity toward Bowles serving interrim duty, considering the fact Bowles had actively served as the team's Assistant Head Coach, well before Nolan ever considered joining the Dolphins, and although Bowles has actively interviewed for various HC vacancies, he had yet to experience the kind of fortuitous opportunity Nolan has reaped, and scrap heaped.

Why would so many people who wanted Fisher and wanted us to give him control, now all of a sudden don't want whoever we get at HC to have control over who their assistants are?

Don't you guys think a HC should be allowed to pick his staff?
