Agreed! He was given a great nucleus and pissed it all away. The sad fact is Irish has drafted better than anyone since JJ. That's indisputable. That's also why we've been a joke since JJ.

Dude you have this way about you where you seem to try to pass your opinions off as iron clad facts. You come across as if you have some vindetta against Ross and Ireland and you go out of your way to find things to critize them over. To each his own but I think sometimes you really reach just to have something bad to say about them. Trust me its unnecessary they do plenty to criticize them without reaching. Something I heard on the radio today (sorry no link) that you and others may find interesting about the Fisher deal. Supposedly Fisher turned down the deal because Ross distributed the power between the HC and GM as follows: Draft, FA, salaries all are decided by the GM and the HC has final say of who is on the roster. Fisher wanted Ross to act as arbitrator between him and Ireland when either of them had a disagreement. Ross refused and Fisher took the job with the Rams where they still do not how the power will be distributed between him and whoever they hire as the GM. If this report is true, the whole thing seems bizarre to me. (BTW I heard this on the NFL channel on Sirius radio from one of their analysts. I forget his name but he is a regular guest and is reputable. I think his first name is Charlie something, former GM maybe?) If Ross really wanted Fisher why wouldn't he agree to be the tie breaker vote in disputes and also if the power structure is so important to Fisher why woulds he sign somewhere that has not defined how much he will or will not have over personnel.
Maybe Ross is smart enough to know that he's clueless when it comes to football related decisions. I see no problem with this philosophy. There's no way the Fins should hand complete autonomy to one person within the organization unless you're the owner cutting the checks. Screw Fisher! His track record does not warrant complete control over the Fins.
That's exactly what he did. Gave complete control to Jeff Ireland, of all people. What Fisher wanted would've been better IMO. No one person had complete control. If this is true it makes it even worse of a decision by Ross.
