I still like Orton, and I'd be surprised if the prototypes theory does not extend to the Qb as well, 6'4 235

Found it. Campbell was still recovering from his injury apparently because it caused Collins to have to throw 50 passes in a blow out loss to the Seahawks.

    I'am really confident he's over 6'2 a bit, about 215.

I don't think its a good decision to go after Flynn when you have Moore..

And after wathin this kid a whole lot, over and over, I would take the risk on the player.

Naysayers, ESPN is saying pro bowl offensive lineman Carl Nicks will not be going back to the Saints. Is there anyone who can argue trying to sign him then trading up for RG3?? He is also funny, after the Saints won the super bowl he said "I'm going to mother f***ing Disneyland."

A huge improvement to the offensive line and a young QB with so much potential. This is probably a pipe dream, we aren't the only team who will want them, but it is a possibility.

Can't argue the Nicks part. I vehemently argue trading up for Griffin.

We have to throw everything at Luck or Griffin, offer the whole draft for either of them. Young talented coach, Griffin/Luck, the future would then start here and now and we build from there.

I would be willing to make any deal outside of it being total insanity to acquire the rights to draft Robert Griffin. He reminds me exactly of Aaron Rodgers in so many different ways and I think he's going to be a franchise QB. At this point I think a top flight QB is our biggest need. Don't see Matt Flynn as one nor is Josh Johnson, David Garrard, or Shaun Fking Hill!
It's Griffin or bust for me at this point. I have a ton of time to change my mind but after Luck and Griffin all I see are Chad Henne clones, and a bunch of "maybes". We whiffed on Jeff Fisher and thats fine by me. However I do think we will pull off a nice move this year. Be it the Rams dealing Bradford our way or us trading up to get Griffin or the semi sickening thought of acquiring "gulp" Peyton Manning something is going to happen. I in no way of any kind want any part of Matt Flynn. Matt Flynn has been here already in the form of AJ Feely, Ray Lucas, and Daunte Culpepper.

The only free agent QB I remotely like is Jason Campbell. I think we can make the playoffs with him as our QB.

I also like Chase Daniel from New Orleans as an unknown but I don't think he would fit in here with whats in place.

I would much rather stay where we are and pick Reiff, Upshaw or Jeffery with our 1st and go after Foles with our 2nd. I think between Moore, Foles and say Henne or Campbell/Flynn we can find a QB to win with. Too many other positions right now that need to be addressed through the draft. I think we would have to give up far too much to get that #2 pick and it's a big gamble.

It's really too early to know exactly how this might play out but soon enough it will become more apparent what will be the better decision. We can always address our OL needs through FA but how well has that worked for us so far? We definitely need an OLB because Misi can't cut it and we lost JT. Who knows but I would rather have more picks to build with at this point

It's a gamble but it's better than being stuck in mediocrity, which is where we'll be in 2012 if we keep ignoring QB and trying to find the next Tom Brady.

We can win against the Bills and Redskins with Moore/Henne and kick some good field goals (face it, Henne's gone), but not the top teams.

problem is, we can focus on the Qb, but the Defense allowed 4 4th qtr comebacks and 5 losses by 13 pts on avg, we have larger need then just the Qb position.

And keep in mind, the core of this team is in yrs 3 and 4, they should be better by now but they are not..

Luck, Griffin, or Manning, all else is a failure or shortcoming. There is no FA QB that is an upgrade from what we currently have.

    Because he's not very good.

  22. Its a little early to believe anything you hear about the draft.

Also we need to find a HC and include him in this process before making that type of decision. If he ain't on-board then you run the risk of recreating the whole Fisher mess they had in Tenn.

With all that being said: Generally speaking I am a BPA type of thinker when it comes to the draft. Get the most talent that you can and if you wind up with too much talent in one position and not enough in another, your GM needs to wheel and deal and work some trades to balance it out. I'm not a fan of reaching in the draft to fill positions of need. The QB problem however is kind of unique. Generally speaking, if you need a QB and you team does not tank the season your almost going to have to reach to get the guy you want in the draft. If we continue to build and improve the team without the position filled we are kind of compounding our problem. In other words the more we improve the further back we drop in the draft making it more of a reach to land the high profile promising rookie QB who will be the face of the organization.

Am I using poor logic or does what I say make any sense to any of you armchair GMs?

He's not bad either. Career passer rating of 82.8, 61% comp pct. 6.8 ypa, 74 TD passes with 50 ints, which isn't a bad ratio.
Rather than just say he's a bum, he's not very good, etc, how about giving some specific reasons why you think that?

He's played on crappy teams too, his numbers are kind of impressive considering the talent he worked with. He more than likely would have won the division with Oakland had he remained healthy. He's not a great Qb, I think he and Moore are a lot a like, I do like Campbell as an option though, we could do a lot worse IMO.

That's basically how I see him too. If he didn't get hurt this season, Hue Jackson wouldn't have gotten fired IMO.
It just gets me when someone will post something like, "we don't want player X because he sucks, or is a bum, or isn't any good, etc" without giving some specific reasons why they feel that way. Or for that matter, the same about a head coaching prospect.

Sorry people but why would we bring in a guy that is just an average qb.Is this what we have been reduced to?Wow maybe he can us get to wild card round.we need better we already have a jason cambell in matt morre. We need an upgrade!!!!
Is flynn that guy?Nobody knows for sure but we know what cambell brings and that is never going to win us a superbowl.
Time to roll the dice on on griffin or flynn and if doesnt work I will be forgiving because at least they tried to upgrade the most important postion on the field.

With any QB we bring in, we need to stop asking if he's good or not. Or just better than Moore.

We need to ask what are the chances he'll be elite/franchise material.

Rex Grossman (for example) we know is never going to be elite/franchise, so don't bring him in.
Matt Flynn has a chance he'll be elite/franchise, so bring him in.

Jason Campbell, can he be elite?

Another thing about Campbell, hasn't he essentially had the same amount of OC's has he's had years in the league?
That will stunt the growth of a QB in hurry.
