What kind of crap thread is this? You speculate if he is the most hated and want comments from this board. It is pointless to even care really.
I don't think he is hated. I just think he is not well qualified for his job. It's not hate material.
It's more likely this is the worst thread on the front page of the general forum. Ireland shouldn't be hated. Not if you have any idea what kind of a job he has done.
Sorry, I should have "muddied" up the forum with another Mike Zimmer/Dave Toub/Stephen Ross is Worse than Satan thread. I don't hate Ireland. I'm one of the few people on this whiny board that has been defending Ross' decision to retain him. I'm speaking of the perception of Ireland in South Florida. It's stunning that someone who has been in charge of this team for all of one year is this despised. People act like he's a cross between Matt Millen and Isiah Thomas.
Kinda sounds like a thread from that other forum.... At any rate, Ireland didn't cause any issues with Fisher... That was the owner's decision. That's the way he wants the organization run. If anything, Ireland still rates another year or two. You can't judge his draft from last year just yet, although it looks promising. Apparently, prior to last year doesn't count, because of what Quitcells may or may not have influenced, so we can't judge him on those moves either. One other thing, FA was not exactly normal this past year so how can we judge Ireland on that ???
As much as I would love to see him fired as the GM of the Dolphins, I certainly don't hate the man. As a Dolphin fan, I just don't think he is qualified to be making personnel decisions for an NFL franchise. I don't know him on a personal level, so it certainly isn't hate that drives my desire to see him gone from the Dolphins. It is the fact that the Dolphins have regressed as a team each of the last three years, after making the playoffs in his first year as the GM of the Dolphins. I wish he and his family well, I just wish he was not part of the Dolphins organization any longer.
