What did you want to do when you grew up?

play sports. Nothing else ever really crossed my mind even after all the injuries I had. Nothing else even mattered. Id give up everything I have now, short of my family and friends, in a heartbeat to play baseball or football. Sports will always be what I truly love...no matter what mood I am in, what crowd Im around, I always find comfort and happiness in these silly games.

 

I hear you bro. I played college baseball (pitcher) for a year until I tore my rotator cuff beyond repair. Had a few scouts interested (Rockies and Expos) until I decided to hang it up.

Baseball is such a hard game to let go. I still have dreams that Im on the mound...

 

I played Shortstop my whole life till I got to High School...got moved to 2nd base because we had a superstar player at short.

I once went a whole year (about 80 games FHA/park league ball) without an error.) I committed 2 errors in my sophmore year...1 in my junior year.

had Clint Hurdle himself come and scout me for the Mets at the time and he offered me a look. I got letters from the Expos and White Sox as well for a trial day.

I also played football in high school and I think that ruined my baseball career. The injuries I got in football kept me from playing some tournaments and smaller leagues that I should have been playing in.

 

I think that when I was about three or four I wanted to be a pilot. It's a good thing that that didn't last long because I developed aviaphobia. I was really into dinosaurs when I was young, so for awhile, I wanted to be a paleontologist, I used to pronounce it as "palerogist." I grew out of that and then for a long time, through high school I wanted to be a chef. I've always loved cooking and I'm pretty good at it.

I've also always been civic-minded, so I guess that's how I became a city planner. BTW, don't feel sorry for architects. They take it out on us. To a lot of them we're only clerks and secretaries.

When I was really young I wanted to be a farmer... when I was 12 years old I wanted to be a Guerrilla fighter... when I was 14 years old I wanted to be a filmmaker...

Fortunately I am working hard for the 3rd one.

 

I sucked at it and I still dream about playing................ errr sitting on the bench....
