Come on Miami - I want to see either going for it on 4th down, reverses, fake punts, fake field goals, the Statue of Liberty, or whatever it takes to beat the Patsies. Use every play in the playbook if necessary - whatever it takes.

I'd also like to see a Defense that pounds the crap out of Brady and makes everyone of their players who even thinks about touching the ball pay for it.

In reality, I'll take a ball control, field postion, boring type of offense that doesn't turn the ball over and keeps Brady off the field. Just WIN. This is OUR Superbowl.

    GOOOO FINNNSSS !!!

Yes, and New Jersey is Jets territory.

Head to a sports bar or something alike, if you wish to torture yourself.

We need the 1972 vets to rally our players, it sounds nuts but when we beat the Bears in 1985, the vets were on the sideline....

What Dolphin fan wouldn't want a victory against the Pats, breaking up their perfect season and all would be glorious. Problem is we have a snowballs chance in hell with this offense and lack of talent. The Pats will probably get Lemon to turn the ball over 3+ times. We have no running game so we will be forced to pass. I predict a looong day for us, many sacks and int's...

I believe this games televised everywhere. I know it better be here in PA. I was stoked that the Ravens game was on but with the NE game being pushed to prime time , I think you should be able to get it.

    Lol, no.

But seriously, the midget toss is the perfect play. First, you go in a regular I formation with two wideouts. But here's the kicker, lined up at the fullback position is a midget. When the ball is snapped, Cleo Lemon would reach behind him and grab the midget and toss him to Lorenzo Booker, making it look like a run play. With all of the defenses focused on Booker, this will allow Lemon to throw deep to Ginn for a TD! :ffic:

    Yes, I'm a genius.

we pulled the upset back in 2004 with very similar talent and circumstances.

i don't put it past us to actually win, however if i had to bet money on the game, i'd go with the Pats...

I do believe it's being pushed as the "national game" since this is the week CBS holds the doubleheader, but the four areas with teams also playing at that 4:15 time slot (Jets, Titans, Ravens, and Seahawks), they won't see it on their own CBS channel.

Yeah, this is the Super Bowl baby!! If the Fins somehow miraculously lead, I don't care about running out the clock. I wanna see them represent all the other teams the Pats beat this season and run up the score on them.

So if the Dolphins lead by 9 points with 1:45 to go, and started throwing the ball to "run up the score" as you put it, and Asante had a pick-6, and then an onside kick and a FG later the Dolphins lose - you'd be perfectly fine with it because they chose to run it up as opposed to run out the clock?

But the biggest difference, that game was in Miami. This one is in Gillette. We're currently looking at the same wintry conditions as today for next Sunday, just not as windy.

my point was that us beating the Patriots is possible. While you are correct on the location of the game being different, i don't think that affects the possibility as much as the probability of a defeating of the Patriots.

I heard something about a possible Chritsmas Eve storm and a storm this Friday but I didn't know it would occur on gameday, also where did you get your info from because if it is true this will make the game closer like the game today with the Jets.

I don't think we need to use a lot of "trickery" to beat the Pats. Do you remember how we beat the Pats 21-0 last Dec. 10th? JT was all over Brady for the entire game. That is how you beat the Pats....you chase Brady all over the field and don't give him time to throw it.

U probably don't remember when Marino picked apart the 85 Bears . . . I mean many consider that team the GREATEST team of all time (best defense) . . . however that was Marino, if Cleo and Camarillo do it . . . . lol it would be unbelievable. We obviously can't compete with them on a neutral fair weather field . . . so maybe some tuff conditions in New England will help us out. It would be amazing . . . but that 85 game in the Orange Bowl . . . with ALL of the 1972 Fins team on the sideline was memorable (saw it on classic a while ago)

I'd feel a billion times better with a Pats loss than today's Dolphin win.

That being said, at least Miami's win today gives the team the energy and confidence to compete next week. It can't be understated what a massive difference it is in that game, coming off a win and not a loss.

Miami would have been devastated by a late loss to Baltimore, similar to the mood they took into Buffalo. Very often the first win is the most difficult and a team will reach a new and unforeseen height after that initial W. Remember, the '77 Buccaneers won two straight to end the season, after removing the monkey in week 13.

The problem is stopping the Pats pass offense sufficiently to match points. We are still world class inept on pass defense. The only things that have slowed Brady & Co. so far are the Colts and the wind.

At least we catch them at the right time, after clinching home field. NE won't be motivated but they can probably go through the motions against us.

Other than the Shockey injury, I was thrilled the Giants lost tonight. If they fall at Buffalo next week, New York may have something to play for in the finale hosting New England.

Same here, I will be rooting against them next week as well so they can give NE their best effort instead of resting their guys.

Exactly! So here's to hoping our D shows up and there aren't any convicts on the sideline with a snowplow! Go Phins!

Yesterday weather.com had a possible storm. As is, this is New England and of course now they're calling for the storm Thursday and Friday as opposed to Saturday and Sunday.

I completely disagree . . . . we HAD to win this game, or we really woudl be looking 0-16 in the face. New England has PLENTY of opportunities to fall . . . whether it be to us or the NYG, and 3 times in the playoffs . . . where they will most likely be playing teams that give tremendous pressure on D (Jville, Indy, Pitt, San Diego).

    Thats all I needed to hear . . . 0-14 vs. 14-0 . . . ALL WEEK . . . I'm glad we won yesterday, and if we would have lost and New England would have lost . . . . I wouldn't feel as good, because we would still be 0-14 . . . facing a historical embarrassment.

If the fins are able to hit Brady enough - they should pull him. Unless Bilichek is a complete idiot and keeps him in there.

Well, my situation is admittedly somewhat different because I'm old enough to remember the '72 team, in fact a season ticket holder for the first time that season when my dad finally got tickets for the entire family.

I'll always consider those early '70s teams the true Miami Dolphins. All these subsequent versions seem like pretenders borrowing the name, and (mostly) the same uniform.

So preserving the unbeaten tag as unique is exponentially more vital to me than salvaging 1 or 2 wins this season. And I don't agree that NE has plenty of chances to lose. That defies probability. Right now is the time to catch them, when they are not motivated. Once the playoffs begin they get a week off to rejuvenate and focus, and every game is either at home or at a neutral site vs. an inferior conference. Fans who think they are vulnerable in the playoffs are sadly mistaken. Heck, a much inferior Pats team led at Indianapolis, 21-3, late in the second quarter last season.

Fans who expect NE to have trouble in the playoffs are the same lousy handicappers who thought Pittsburgh had a chance last week, or that NE would destroy the Jets yesterday based on motivation from Spy Gate.

NE owns Fury of Anti-Revenge over the Colts, after erasing the late 10 point deficit in the regular season matchup. That means NE will have incredible energy and intensity to begin the game against Indy. It's not unlikely that NE will exceed the 10 points they had in the early 4th quarter of that game, in the first quarter or even half the first quarter of the playoff game.

Hopefully you are in either Central or South Jersey and have Philly channels. I think CBS in Philly will televise this game. I recommend getting Direct TV next season, I don't know how I ever lived without it:confused1:
