Wow! http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/01/11/reports-tony-sparano-will-get-jets-coordinator-job/
Sparano is going down a slippery slope. taking the oC job with Sanchize? Is he TRYING to work his way back to D2 college ball?
Irony, you are a hilariously cruel b*tch. Not the I don't wish Sparano well personally, but how funny is that ****!? Made the offseason already.
It's now a Foot Pump, ya dingy. I'd like to say we'll know NY's offensive tendencies & game plan........ but would it really matter? lol.
I'm with Larry here. I love Sparano and would have wished him well, but not on the Jets. Just can't do it. I do hope he eventually winds up somewhere else and has success though.
The AFC East just dodged a MAJOR bullet(IMHO)....the Jets were too stupid to promote Bill Callahan to their OC....so Dallas hired him as their OL coach.
Interesting move. Outside of his former playcalling stint in Dallas, throughout his tenure in Miami, never really saw or heard anything from Sparano, to suggest he was much of an X's and O's type
Well I thought he was talking about East Rutherford, where the Jets play. edit- ah yes, your right. Read it wrong.
This move makes sense imo sparano is already used to coaching a qb who cant throw for **** there going to run and kick fgs plus they get extra inside scoop on the dolphins next time we play them.
Well, to be honest guys I would cast any stones at Tony yet. We have a 3 ring circus here running our franchise. And it looks like even coordinators are staying away from our head coaching job. Sparano might well be beter than anything we end up getting in here. Sad to say, but we have to wish for the owner to pass away or sell before we can hang our heads high again.
Which coordinators have we offered a job to, and been turned down? Which coordinators have we invited to interview for the job and been turned down?
While I love both your sig and your avatar, there was nothing substantial about that post or anything in it. If we end up with Fisher or Zimmer, then the owner has done a great job IMO. We'd have to scrape the bottom of the barrel to do worse than Tony.
We have a 3 ring circus running are team???? Have you been watching what is happening to the Jets? They are imploding from the basement on up.
I'm going to wish Tony well and hope he has success while the Jets overall do not. And while I know Sparano isn't viewed as aggressive, it wouldn't surprise me if he was a better OC than many here are expecting him to be.
I think a lot of you are underestimating the effect this has on us. Tony knows everyhu about us the personnel packages, the offensive scheme our players strengths and weaknesses how we prepare for games and will use everything he can to screw us twice a year. This means we need an entire new offense in my opinion.
Now this could be a good move for the Jets Former Chiefs HC Todd Haley visiting Jets today. Jets could team Tony Sparano as OC, Haley as asst HC, to repace Brian Schottenheimer. From Adam S.
Jets may be heading towards a division of duties similar to Dallas back in 2007, where Sparano gets the o-line and running game duties, while Haley gets the skill players and passing game duties. Honestly, that system proved to be pretty effective for the Cowboys. Even if Haley doesn't come on board I would not be shocked at all to see Tony be a successful coordinator. His emphasis on statistics, tendencies, snap counts, and the like make him a natural fit for an offensive coordinator position.
Jets After Sparano Per ESPN. http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id/7449066/brian-schottenheimer-new-york-jet-offensive-coordinator Interesting that the article sees Sparano as an OC candidate. I can't see that working, personally, but that's good for us. However, the Jets also need an OL coach b/c Callahan left for the Cowboys' job vacated by Hudson Houck's retirement. I suspect this may be for the OL position. I think that probably suits Sparano best. Some coaches are great at one thing - but not so great at other positions (HC). Sparano is likely a good OL coach who needs to stay out of personnel decisions and play calling.
Yeah. I really don't like this hire. I'm not afraid of Tony, but any loss to them will sting even more
Rex is a mastermind. When Tony draws all the attention from his fist pumps, no one will notice rex staring at tony's feet wishing they were in pumps.
