They should probably just burn the building down for insurance money if that is true.

Well, I'm psyched. IMO, we've guaranteed a better coaching job than what we've had in a very long time.
Now, how the personnel decisions turn out is something we may be griping about for awhile, but the coaching will improve.

Here's some more possible proof for you???....the beat writer for the St. Louis Post Dispatch has this:

    Jim Thomas @jthom1
Whoops! Brain fart. It's Denver defensive coordinator Dennis Allen interviewing with Rams on Thursday for head-coaching job.

Rams also likely to interview Atlanta's Les Snead for general manager job this week, but specific date yet to be determined.

If he apparently will announce it by Wednesday, why would the Rams schedule a meeting Thursday? Though they could just be doing it just in case he picks Miami so they have it all lined up...but still.

man you people take the cake one person said this site if full of lackluster comedians that was funny this site is full of people who think that Since Fisher has a mustache he is going to be like Dave Wannstedt . I wasn't aware that what is on the oustside of man's head is more important than what is inside a mans head. Please remember that just because Jeff didnt win many super bowls in Tennessee doesnt mean he cant win one with us. by the way Wanny won more games then Sparano in the same amount of time as Sparano plus Dave won three playoff games maybe even 4 .if this report is true I will be pleased . i just hope it isnt a false report.

it is still unbelievable that both the 2002 and 2003 teams did not reach the playoffs. it was also in a tiny window where the overall QB talent was lower than it is today. Imo, those teams had the talent to win some playoff games. Sparano was handed a rebuild. Wanny spoiled his inheritance. Neither were good, but I dislike Wanny more.

So at the end of the night, what do we really know?

I remember all that, and was following it closely as I could back then. He could have matched the offer to Vincent, but dragged his feet, then tried to do it at the last minute and missed the deadline. He didn't even make an offer to Fryar, and instead signed Fred Barnett with his bum knee to a deal that was nearly the same as Fryar signed later in Philly.
He did resign Keith Sims, but he was on the decline by then and I don't think he played out the contract.
The two he really didn't have a choice on losing were Cox and Coleman, as I recall. Fryar and Marino had a good rapport and it was beyond stupid to not even attempt to resign him, but sign Barnett instead.

I think there ideally has to be some dividing of the various aspects of personnel responsibilities. Ireland should be in charge of the draft, and free agency, with input on the kinds of players Fisher needs. Fisher should have autonomy on assembling his staff, and also later be given final authority on any moves regarding his staff, and also have final authority on cutting players, especially in training camp, but really anytime.

While true, the position was no less important. It's not like QB suddenly became important overnight in 2008.

Those Wannstache teams never had a prayer.

There maybe a lot of comedians on this site, but nobody is any better making me laugh than you are. Apparently a natural gift.

  30. As a fan I have come to an understanding. I do not get overly excited about anyone on thisteam anymore until they have proven themselves reliable. If we hire Fisher I will have no oppinion of him until he actually lives up to all the hype surrounding him. I will say the same about any hire or draft we make at this point.

The one thing I am sure of is the Sporano is not a good fit in Miami. We needed a new HC, whiether it Fisher or somebody else. We needed to make a change.

Both those seasons, didn't Fiedler miss games with injuries? I thought his being so brittle and no #2 QB who could pick up the slack, was the main reason those teams didn't make post season.

The 2002 team especially. That one was a SUPER BOWL contender. it had a top 2 defense and the best running game in the NFL. That team with 2 games to go was in a position to win out and get HOME FIELD advantage THROUGHOUT the playoffs. Think about that. And they would have beaten every contender that year too.

Why would I want Trent Green to travel back in time to play of the Dolphins?

#1. If that was a possibility I would choose a better quarterback
#2. That would cause there being two Trent Greens in the same time stream, which is a paradox, which would cause the world to end.

    If Wanny had a brain....

We would have had a Pro Bowl quarterback (Trent Green) at the time, to go along with a top 3 defense, and the best running game in the NFL.

UH yeah..we might have been in the super bowl.

Okay..now I am upset all over again.
