Let's say Fisher does go to STL and is all in on RGIII with the #2 overall. Now does Bradford stay to compete or is he shopped for picks. Definately get more for trading out of #2 overall, but Bradford had decent value as well they could use to improve the roster. He definately has options there.

yes. That is the elephant in the room.

That we are no longer in the Cowboys, Steelers, Giants, category, as a "dream job".

This is a great place in which to be rich, and if you win here, you are treated as a GOD. Ask those that have won before here. You even have a passive media. Then you put the cherry on top, being the talent on the roster already, then WHAT is the problem?

I'm less concerned about missing out on Fisher and more concerned about us being absolutely unable to land the coaching prospect we want. I smell a desperation hire coming. The problems begin and end with Ross/Ireland.

Now PFT opiines that Ross should essentially make an offer that Fisher can't refuse... essentially beg. :pity:

Ironically enough, I think personnel decisions are Fishers' Achilles....that said, having a hand in who that GM will be has to be appealing to Fisher. What he doesn't really know here, is how much pull Ireland has with Ross...he can only really guess...

Additionally, he always had a GM that had power over him. That has to be the real sticking point. If it is and Fisher tells Ross that, I think he makes an adjustment to get Fisher anyway, but that's just what I'd do...

The problem is whether or not Ross will 'adjust' the structure for Fisher...I still would be surprised if Fisher lets it be known that is a sticking point that Ross doesn't do something to change that and not let Fisher get away....

Its not that Im so honed in on an offensive minded coach. My first choice is still Cowher who is run run run. But Cowher coached killer defenses, knew the importance of the QB position when he ousted Tom Donahue, and hired coaches with an offensive imagination like Mularkey (not a good HC but a decent OC), Bruce Arians, etc. Fisher is definitely more of the same grind it out, unimaginative crap we have watched for the last 12 years. Not a fan. Good at player development but not known for being an offensive juggernaut.

Let it be St Louis' problem. Poor Steven Jackson.

On the surface, I'd agree. But he's coached the Titans from Houston to Memphis to Nashville, so he's probably sick of relocating with a franchise.

Also, I wonder if the report isn't someone inside the Rams speculating about why Fisher hasn't signed yet.

Ireland caused us Cowher Chucky and now the mediocre Fisher. When will Ross learn? 9th Pick two potential franchise QB's in the draft ad I'll bet my first born we dont move up to get either one of them.

There are rumblings on Twitter that Adam Schefter is saying the Phins are back in the lead for Fisher. Can anyone confirm? He must've said this on ESPN this morning because he hasn't Tweeted it.

This is from Mike Silver in Yahoo....

    2. Why someone who, during the 20-plus years I’ve covered him, has been as consistently forthright and guileless as Jeff Fisher would be presumed by anyone to be leveraging either of the two franchises seeking his services as head coach. As I wrote last week, Fisher came away from his interview with the Miami Dolphins highly impressed with owner Stephen Ross and confident in the organization’s commitment to fielding a winning team. As I’ve since noted on Twitter, St. Louis Rams owner Stan Kroenke made a similarly positive impression on Fisher during their meetings in Denver on Wednesday and Thursday. And on Sunday morning, as Fisher was headed to the Nashville Airport to fly to St. Louis for a tour of the Rams’ training facility, the former longtime Titans coach had not yet made a decision about his future. Fisher, according to a source familiar with his thinking, was excited about the prospect of coaching both teams and felt it was “50-50” as to which team he’d ultimately choose. He hadn’t yet entered into specific contract negotiations with either franchise (another blow to the leverage theory) and thought his decision-making process could extend into the latter part of the week. You can take this information for what it’s worth – everything, in my humble opinion – or you can come up with your own, less-informed theories about what Fisher’s thinking and how he’s trying to put one over on various folks. Hey, it’s a free country. But Fisher, as the weekend came to a close, hadn’t come to any decision, and he was torn about two career opportunities he considered equally enticing.

    http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?sl...l_playoffs_tim_tebow_010912#silver_comprehend

You match what Silver and Schefter say.....then....it seems like this is just gonna have to play out. Miami is definitely in play here. That much seems true.

I want this to be over soon, because if we don't get him, I'm going to be initially PO'd, and I want to get over it ASAP. I don't mind waiting if we do indeed get him, but I have this feeling it just won't go our way, and the thought PO's me.

I agree with this. Ross has his faults, but spending money isn't one of them. If it comes down to money, and money alone, I have no doubt Jeff Fisher will the next Head Coach.
Unfortunately, my gut tells me this won't come down to the almighty dollar.
