If this is true and its about Ireland being GM, i was giving Ross some slack, but if just doesn't get it. Just sell the team period. Maybe we can pitch in and buy the team from the dumb schmuck... :pity:

All we have to do is show up to beat those guys. Plus there's about a 50/50 shot the 'franchise QB' Bradford will be out with some sort of injury.

If history tells us anything... if St. Louis gives Fisher too much personnel power, he's going to fail.

I wanted Fisher but I never wanted to give him the keys to the kingdom because it would have been irresponsible.

Hopefully this will open up an opportunity for Todd Bowles. I think I would be OK with Philbin if he brings the GB system along with Matt Flynn.

As much as I want Fisher, if he truly does want more power in personel, I'm not unhappy he's signing with St Louis

If Fisher fears the New York Jets he's certainly better off elsewhere. Was whoever wrote that article watching any football this season?

It looks like either that or give someone like Philben the job OR give Cowher the control he wants and gut the FO. The problem with Cowher is we are talking at 3-5 year commitment and if he fails, well I don't want to even imagine.

I just think that if your team's head coach ended the season in tears [and they weren't of joy after hoisting a Lombardi] it's hard to say they're a powerhouse.

Seems like pure speculation still. Regardless if he goes to St. Louis because they have a "franchise" qb, I would rather nothave him due to his lack of understanding of what a "franchise" qb is. Eff em.

We can't even get Jeff Fisher. Cowher or Gruden wouldn't coach the Dolphins if Stephen Ross offered them 72 virgins.

He has done a great job with our secondary

    2011
25th in yards allowed per game avg
30th in allowing 63 -20 plus yard plays

    2010
8th in passing yards allowed per game avg
20th allowing 50 plays of 20 yards or more

    2009
24th in passing yards allowed per game avg
30th allowing 57 plays of 20 yards or more

    2008
25th in passing yards per game
27th in allowing 49 plays of 20 yards or more

The question should be why has he kept his job
as our secondary coach???................oh yeah the Dallas connection

Cowher or Gruden aren't coaching anybody last time I checked. And Fisher could just as likely stay unemployed as much as pick the Rams.

    Thank god....Never wanted Jeff Fisher.

Hire Philiben, sign Matt Flynn, Draft a playmaker like Blackmond and strike fear into the AFC East.

Flynn already knows the system, Blackmond and Marshall would be sick with Bess, Hartline, Gates all in the west coast offense.

Lets face it, our defense no matter how good isn't going to slow the Patriots down enough for us to win only scoring 14 points at most. If we can score with them I think our defense is twice as good as what they have.

Why? There is obviously some reason that he hasn't even gotten an interview, but for the life of me I don't see it. OCed one of the greatest offenses in NFL history, and was the head coach of one of the greatest D's. He's personable, intelligent, and media savvy. Won a superbowl. What am I missing?

I think this is getting somewhat blown out of proportion. Fisher did interview here, he did say the decision was between Miami and St. Louis. It's not like he rebuffed us at the door and gave us the hand. I do not think it unreasonable that he would much prefer having a large say in the next STL General manager, and essentially having control - sort of like Shanny in DC where there is a GM but he calls all the shots.

And frankly, if that's what he wants and is after screw it. I wasn't high on him to begin with, and will not lose any sleep over him going elsewhere. Now if we start seeing most assistants bailing out and declining offers? That would be worrisome.

We DON'T want Joe Philbin. Guy looks like Larry Coker, and he doesn't call any plays. Guy is a total stiff.

    Does this guy inspire confidence?

If Ross wants to come out the PR winner... he'd announce the Dolphins next head coach before Fisher officially chooses the Rams. Talk about brilliant. But it couldn't be Philbin as the Dolphins can't hire him until after his team is eliminated from the playoffs.

Maybe I'm in the minority, but I've warmed to Bowles or Billick as Head Coach. I'm not really enamored with Phillbin while bringing along Flynn. We have a serviceable guy in Moore, who is young, cheap, and under contract.

If Fisher doesn't choose us, it stinks, but not the end of the world. I think the biggest issue is nobody wants to work with Ireland or for Ross it seems. That's not a positive.
