I also live in Middle Tenn and Fisher would do an outstanding job in Miami.

Alright, for argument's sake let's just say that Bradford is all that. Do you really think St. Louis is really ready to give up on him after just two seasons? Curious...how much of a hit would they take if they did? Seriously, I'm asking, 'cause I have no idea.

Then, who would you rather see hired as the next HC?

Feel free to disregard Fisher's record. I choose not disregard it.

I'm not disregarding his record. You're glossing over it. I imagine you know next to nothing about the history of the Titans, Bud Adams, the move from Houston/Memphis/Vanderbilt/Nashville, the big salary-cap purge, Bud Adams forcing them to draft Vince Young, or Bud Adams just generally acting like the bastard son of Jerry Jones and Forrest Gump. Do you know who Jeff Fisher has coached under? How many seasons did Fisher coach the same team?

You think I'm wrong? Bring it. I can take it. However, before you go accusing anyone of 'ignoring' such a blatant statistic, you might wanna do some homework. I'd bet a dollar you don't know jack-squat about Jeff Fisher, and you're just talking outta yer fudge-hole. :wink2:

Mediocre gets you fired in the NFL. So there really is no middle ground. You're either good or you're gone.

It does not bode well that Fisher left town. Certainly it is a good move for Fisher to see what else is out there, but normally you don't want these guys to leave at all. Lock it down while you have him the further he gets the less likely it is that he will sign with us.

While I can appreciate where you're coming from TI, it has been reported he already had an interview scheduled with St. Louis too (IIRC). If so, IMO he has to meet his obligations, otherwise he looks bad...no? I get that it would've been better had he been so blown away by the offer and opportunity that he just decided to sign and forgo any other interviews But, I say again...I think as a gentleman that I'm assuming he is, he feels he has to see it through. Not too mention, I'm sure it gives him leverage. That's just smart on his part, I think.

I hope that it is nothing more than a man honoring his commitments. That would be refreshing. I would hope that it was not that he was just plain underwhelmed by everything he saw and heard in Miami.

If I was Ross and had a bajillion dollars, I would hire Bobby Fischer to coach the Dolphins. Just to see what happens...

Yahoo Sports reports Fisher was impressed by his time here and does not necessarily view Sam Bradford as a franchise QB, meaning he's not immediately inclined to go to STL.

  19. SCall13

That could be very true. I'm certainly not impressed with Bradford

I wonder if he would employ the King Indian Defense or opt for the Sicilian Defense.

And every opening drive would start with them running the "Benko Gambit" play.

I find this hilarious beyond words.

    Do it Ross!

I was going to complain about his record as a coach being up and down, but then I realized the Dolphins haven't won 12+ games since 1990 and have only won 3 playoff games since 1995 & not since 2000, never getting past the divisional round, and always getting blown out of it.

I'd take what the Titans did during that time frame...shouldn't be one to complain about it as a Dolphins fan.

I'm trying not to get my hopes up but I would love to get Fisher. Always liked him in Tennessee and he's a guy that will get the most out of his players and will have their respect. Always has too. Guy can flat out coach.

Also, he's got one hell of a 'stache.

I'm not a Fisher fan but thats 3 Superbowl wins, 9 Superbowl apperances (Holmgren was robbed of a win in Seattle), at least 6 championship game appearances excluding the wins and a whole bunch of winning seasons (except Sparano). You should have stopped at Sparano.

Show me where I dismissed the need for a QB. Your posts insinuate that a HC is just an unimportant part of the game, that we could just shove anyone into the job and that QB talent alone wins games.

It's like you want to buy a Corvette and are willing to take it with a Volt engine.

No, I'm saying a coach is less important than a QB and that 99% of the pro level coaches are all the same, in that you give them a great QB they'll be in the hunt.
