Breaking: Newsday's Jim Baumbach "Rex Ryan reduced to tears after loss to Dolphins."

Discussion in 'Miami Dolphins Forum' started by Vinny Fins, Jan 2, 2012.

  1. Next season Cumberland will back as well, hopefully we have a new OC to kick start the offense. I would love to have McKenzie here!

We need a Norv Turner type guy. I also think we need to go after a new QB coach.

This past offseason I predicted the Jets would regress simply because the record for teams who made it to back to back title games the following season was typically poor, add in the Jets have cap problems and two streaks were bound to end:

-Offensive line had yrs of consecutive starts by every lineman, that was bound to end
-picking up problem children was going to blow up sooner or later

Third is the cap situation, Tannenbaum was wedging everything he could into these past couple of seasons, there was not room to continue to do so.

Add in Rex prefers veterans and does not develop players into full time starters and depth was paper thin, Aaron Maybin can bend the edge on the speed rush, but he doesn't play OLB very well at all.

Count me in for another c-note. If we got it, I would post it and play it over and over during the entire off season every time I'm feeling down.

I would LOVE to know why you think Flynn would give up being the backup for the Pack, to be a backup in NY.

In a 3-4 clogging that middle is a primary responsibility of your mlb's You need a guy like Scott to go in the hole take on the block and make a play. Speed was never his game. You knew what you got when you signed him.

You have to blame Rex Ryan, he is the head coach, you don't like the offense you change it. And he created this team of babies like Scott and Holmes.

its not bad play calling when sanichize takes the check down 90% of the time. i hear people always complain about no plays down field. you don't have a qb who can make them.

Giving the season, I really couldn't have asked for a better way to end the season/start a new year. It was so perfect in every way.

I understand Scott's role. He takes on the block to open up plays for other LBs. I know a little bit about football. The point is he's way overpaid and needs to be replaces with a younger, faster player that has room to grow. The Jets need to get younger and faster as a whole. If it works with the cap, I would immediately release Bart Scott and Calvin Pace.

Rex Ryan deserves some blame. I agree with you. But how is it Rex's fault that Mark's accuracy has not gotten better. How is it Rex's fault that Sanchez constantly makes the wrong decisions?

Sanchez is not the guy in New York. Schottenheimer is not the guy in New York. Rex Ryan is. I do think Rex Ryan needs to be more professional, though. He treats the staff and players more like friends and not like a business manner. Schottenheimer was supposed to get canned at least 2-3 years ago. If he stays on the team again, then I give up on Rex Ryan.

Anyone that knows the least about football knows ****ty is one of the worst play callers in the league.

The good news is Schottenheimer is interviewing with the Jags this upcoming week. I pray to God they get this foolish, idiotic of a coach out of NY.

So how do you really feel about Schotty?

Also, figured you may be interested in this tidbit per PFT/Rotoworld:
According to Profootballtalk.com, Santonio Holmes is due a "fully guaranteed" base salary of $7.75 million in 2012.
Further, if Holmes is on the Jets roster for the second day of the 2012 league year, $7.5 million of his $11 million 2013 base salary will become fully guaranteed, as well. It means the Jets have to decide in the coming weeks if they want to commit over $15 million to a player who was reportedly a locker room "cancer" in 2011. Ultimately, it's unlikely a Jets team that struggled to score points in 2011 releases its best offensive player.

You are correct but Holmes is your best receiver. Sanchez just did a really poor job of getting him the ball

Schottenheimer coming back and chaos in Jet fanboyland ensues.

  30. Hands down Holmes is our best WR, i look at Sanchez everytime he drops back, he looks down his receivers everytime. His confidence is shot!

  31. Looks like it, these guys in this press conference are just beating around the bush. Still not as classless as what your GM did before this season.

The short memory of this fan base doesn't recall that Brandon Marshall was kinda pissy when Chad Henne was still under center.

This isn't rocket science. Chad Henne sucks. Mark Sanchez sucks.
