Man, I think its a coin flip since AZ was on CAR schedule...and the WIN hurt CAR SoS%. right now I see us both at .504 (but NYG and DAL will force a .500 addition to us - assuming no tie).....if that goes bring us to under .504, then I think we have a coin flip coming to determine #8 or #9. Wow...amazing. NYG and DAL are not on CAR schedule so that game only impacts us...and only a tie could change things. LOL
Pretty sure that is all correct (my numbers match yours for SoS for both Miami and Carolina, each with a 129-127 record) and Wikipedia says division record/conference record is used only for teams in the same division/conference... Wikipedia may not be reliable for academic purposes, but it's good enough for this! Coin flip for #8/#9 it is!
Nice, which means we'd have the #7 overall in effect, as the #1overall is already "used" w/6 teams picking ahead of us. Was hoping we'd be in the 30's in the second rd.
did you run your #'s for us with tonights NYG vs. DAL? Does the .500 for either win change our .504 to slightly lower? will a TIE change things?
I think that because Carolina played neither Dallas or New York, the game means nothing. Currently our SoS record is at 128-126. If Dallas wins, it goes to 129-127. If New York wins, it goes to 129-127. If it's a tie, it goes to 128-126-2. Because the NFL counts ties as "half wins" (they use to not have them count as wins at all), it would give us the same win percentage had either team won. Basically because we played both New York and Dalla while Carolina played neither, a tie wouldn't matter because the NFL counts a tie as a "half-win" in determining winning percentages.
woot......COIN FLIP!!!!!!!!! GBN Report.. January 1 (7:45 PM): Unofficial top picks set ... With just one game left to play in this year's regular schedule, most of the top picks at the 2012 draft have been set. Indianapolis will pick first, followed by (2) St. Louis, (3) Minnesota, (4) Cleveland, (5) Tampa Bay, (6) Washington, and (7) Jacksonville. Carolina and Miami will flip for the 8th and 9th picks, while Buffalo will pick 10th and Kansas City and Seattle will flip for the 11th and 12th picks. We will the full selection order after tonight's finale between Dallas and the Giants.
Re-read it... 1) Colts 2) Rams 3) Vikings 4) Browns 5) Buccs 6) 'Skins 7) Jags 8t) Dolphins 8t) Panthers 10) Bills
Fools say a lot of things....not sure why some are struggling with the basic Math.....coin flip will determine....that is the facts.
I can see Cleveland taking a run at Flynn. Holmgren digging into the GB qb pool again (Hasselbeck). And then Washington could stand pat and take RGIII at 6. That leaves the third rated qb for us.
Think about this, the teams that have drafted Qb's recently think they will get a mint for their pick, Rams, Vikes etc, but what can happen is a GM will ust go with the cheapest cost trade up because they know those teams WON'T draft a Qb. Rams have the #2 overall, if they want say a #1 a #2 and a #2 next yr, no team has to trade with them, they can then solicit the Vikes for a lower package.
What's your strategy for QB? FA addition? P.S. we have to give one of those picks to NO for Reggie Bush, not sure which one yet however.
Guys help me out here...is Flynn an UFA and just goes to the highest bidder or does he have to be traded for?
Unrestricted FA is just that....unless TAGGED he is unrestricted and its all about the Benjamins only.
FA addition, yea. We're really not in a good position to upgrade at QB IMO, so even FA additions would mostly be insurance. Harnish would be more of a roll of the dice on a developmental guy. He has some nice athleticism, and seems to be a real leader on his team.
Frankly, still waiting to hear if its official on RG3 for #2, and what L. Jones status is....but really wont solidify until combine and personal days are done. Best guess today, depending on Jones, Weeden an Tannehill is maybe mid teens to mid 20's of round 1 for one of them. Maybe only Luck and RG3 (if official) in round 1.
I think he should go in the mid 20's (Tannehill) based on player rank, but I think the 3rd QB will go higher than 20. Also, my opinion on where he should go (and Foles) could be swayed some based on all-star performances.
Well, heard mixed things on Rg3 the prospect, but think the credibility that let Parcells pass on Ryan for Long, is gone, people went mental when Quinn was passed on, I can only imagine Ireland trotting out 2nd rd pick Qb so and so and talking about his board and football decisions. I could see a Billick/RG3 combo with "he developed Culpepper" If we go with Pats O'Brien, who knows, maybe we see Matt Cassell
Tony Dungy stated he could see RG3 as #1 overall pick by Colts.......I think he is nutz....but just saying.
4 main options IMO: 1. Trade up into the #2 spot for RG3 (Rams can get protection for Bradford at pick #8 or 9). 2. Trade back into the teens and take Tannehill. 3. Roll the dice and hope Tannehill is available in bottom of the 1st and trade up our 2nd. 4. See what Flynn would cost, but IMO we'd need to get him some more WR talent.
The funny, or not so funny, thing is wherever Miami drafts they will probably be taking an OT (Reiff from Iowa) with the 1st round pick. What is ironic is most of the fans that wanted to SFL were probably hoping to beat the Jets today and that put us out of reach for getting one of the projected QBs at the top of the draft. Honestly, glad we won't be taking Jones. Went to the game Friday night. Not worth a 1st round pick. Absolutely nothing special about him.
