only Phins on the team. Long is a starter. Surprised Marshall made it and even more surprised that Dansby didn't make the team. Biggest snub...Victor Cruz. He is the #3 WR in the entire NFL and didn't make the NFC roster.
Austin didn't make it, as far as I can see on NFL.com Calvin Johnson Larry Fitzgerald Steve Smith Greg Jennings Of those, only Megatron deserved to get in over Cruz.
How did Miles Austin get in over Cruz? He plays for "Americas Team" and the probowl is some what of a popularity contest.
I doubt Long plays with his injury. Cruz should have made it. Roddy White had pretty good numbers this year too.
Hate to say it, but can't think of a Dolphin that belongs this year. Bush and Fields are the most deserving of all.
Marshall and Fields were both deserving. Had Dansby or Bush made it (either may still make it) they wouldn't be undeserving either.
Love Jake but this is honestly a friggin Joke. If anyone thinks he played better then most of the OTs in the NFL they are blind, completely blind. More evidence its turned into a popularity contest. Marshal too, the name Marshal and Pro Bowl do not even come close to being related.
He has the 3rd most yards in the AFC from a WR, and is 2nd in receptions, while playing on a team that averages less than 200ypg passing. He's absolutely deserving, even with his maddening faults.
and is tied for most dropped balls. Welker even at his size, kicks Marshals asss to pieces. The most overpaid ego maniac bipolar wide receiver I have seen in my life. Keep the guy but he surely is not pro bowl material. He has a 58.8 % for catches, among the worst in the league. As I said, keep him, please+
Had Dansby come into the season in shape ready to play and done it early on I would agree. Has played at Pro Bowl level in second half. Marshall has the obvious stats that make him look pro bowl worthy, but dropping so many TDs and several 3rd down plays that would have been 1st downs (as good as a turnover) NO WAY is he deserving. Worthy pro bowl players don't hurt a team as much as he has imo.
Bull crap. Give me some of what you are smoking. Like I said, love the guy but his 2011 years sukked wads. As it stood prior to the NE game, Jake long was ranked 22nd overall for NFL tackles.
Greg Little has the most dropped passes in the NFL at 14, Marshal is right behind him with 13 as number two. We have one more week to go, I am sure Marshal will either end up as second or first in dropped passes in the NFL. the thing is complete BS on pro bowl voting.
Marshall isn't pro bowl caliber? Really? He really is turning in to one of the most under appreciated Phins of all time.
Really glad for Marshall. I wonder what his numbers could have been if Moore were starting all season. P.S. He beasted for my fantasy championship last weekend :P
Welker is good but benefits hugely from Tom Brady. Don't believe the Brady factor? Look at Reche Caldwell before Brady, the one year with Brady, and the year after Brady. Marshall and Henne never had Chemistry. With Moore he does. He drops a lot of balls. So Does Roddy White and Reggie Wayne. We knew Brandon dropped balls before he got here.
Not that he deserved it this year, but I think it may be some kind of record. How many 1st round picks made the show for their 1st 4 years?
Bush deserved it. He's 8th in yards I think, but of the current top RB's his 5.0 YPC is tops in the league. It was kinda late though, he didn't start out hot...and also plays on a 5-10 team. If the Phins were a playoff contender he may have made a late surge in votes.
Marshall is the best player on a team that likes to play musical chair with the qb since hes been in Miami and your boy Welkers lead the nfl in drop passes last year go figure
I think Long is still one of the top tackles in the NFL, but with all his injuries in the last two seasons, trading him might not be a bad idea. Perhaps the Colts or Rams would be willing to take the Dolphins first round picks the next three years, a second round pick this year and Jake Long for the first pick in the draft. I know I would certainly have no problem if the Dolphins made this trade and received Luck in return.
Had Bush started out of the gates like he finished the years, I think he would have gotten a lot more support. As it stands, his effort was just too little, too late. Come to think of it, that's sort of a microcosm of this season, isn't it? As for Long, nice to see him make it. Usually it takes 8-10 years before players start getting voted in on rep only. It says something that Jake still got in, despite having a very below average year.
Happy for Big Jake, even if he didn't have his typical PB season. And, I agree that Bush earned consideration. But, Fields is the one Dolphins player that definitely deserves to be on the team IMHO.
That's WAY too much to give up. And I'm of the opinion that we overpay to get Luck, but I draw the line at 3 1s, a 2 and Jake Long. I think 2 1s plus Jake Long is as far as I'd go.
Marshall clearly deserved the pro bowl in the AFC this year. His production overall was second only to Welker's. I've noticed that whenever you see these ridiculous over-the-top criticisms of a player, they are usually based on one stat that for whatever reason makes the poster ignore everything else the player does.
Excellent article on the "undeserving" Pro-Bowlers from Pro Football Focus: http://www.profootballfocus.com/blog/2011/12/28/pro-bowl-the-undeserving/ -Jake Long and D'Brick were undeserving -Maurkice Pouncy made the Pro Bowl, even though Mike Pouncey graded higher! -BJ Raji has played like crap this year and got in. They rated him as the worst DT in the NFC!
Dansby did not deserve to go because he came in out of shape and was horrible for the first month and a half.
