Dolphins won the game! Check it out if u can. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000...ngest-game-ever-airs-christmas-on-nfl-network
I didn't know the Dolphins were part of the longest game in history. I guess you learn something new everyday...
I remember the arguement at my parents house over TV still being on and dinner being ready,I ended up sideing with my dad and watching the doube OT- and eating a cold dinner.
I'm sick of hearing about the great history our franchise has. I hope someone plays a longer playoff game this year so we never have to hear about this stuff ever again.
Yea wouldn't it have been much better if the Dolphins had of had a mediocre history so we wouldn't be reminded about Super Bowls, undefeated seasons and Hall of Fame players. Humph!!! the nerve of some people quit living in the past!
This will be so much more entertaining than any game we've played in the past few years. Don Banks wrote an article: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/20...2/longest.game.ever/index.html?sct=nfl_t12_a1
I don't think there can ever be a longer game unless the rules change. I just watched the special and it was pretty cool. Most of that stuff I had not even known about. Looks like they were looking for filler though - I would have preferred a shortened play by play of the game but there was probably not enough footage to do that. KP
This is a fantastic special. Lots of great historical context. Good glimpse into the evolution of the team that would eventually go undefeated.
It was great to see again....the Paul Warfield reception and move on the sideline was everything I remembered about his grace and "deer-like" change of direction and subtle movements for YAC. All around treat to watch 40 years later....even Bob Griese was funny about his non-throwing shoulder and busting his son Brian about how he could escape the pocket and move the ball down field. But Csonka and his losing 18lbs and his pants not fitting was classic too. Lots of good stuff. That "trap" call with both the RT and RG pulling was crazy, as not only was Csonka untouched, but neither were the "two" pulling OL for at least 10 yards. Never seen that before. Still love busting on Garo Y. about him blowing the 17-0 chance during the 17-0 season in 72, but was nice to see him have a moment of glory for this 71 kick with is family. Feel bad for Jan Stenerud and all these years of carrying around the feeling of letting his team down, etc. tough break in such a glorious career.
