5th loss by3 pts or less, we've lost 5 games by less then 12 points combined, think maybe the offense is lacking some weaponry?
Moore is really tough for me to figure out. I like that he throws a very catchable pass, hate that he floats some deep ones. I like that he shows athleticism in the pocket hate that he shows poor pocket pressure awareness at key times. I like that he throws a lot more touchdowns than interceptions hate that he so many issues with the snap. I don't buy the fact that he isn't beating winning teams. The Dolphins are not beating winning teams regardless of which QB is playing. I think blaming him way oversimplifies the issue. I think it's obvious he will compete for the starting position next year, short of the Phins trading for Manning etc.
People comparing Moore to Fiedler or even Henne clearly have no concept or memory of either. Moore consistently plays at a level at or above both those players at their best. People shouldn't be blaming Moore for the issues the offense has had when we lost. Look at the protection, the protection packages, and then how often Moore is asked to be aggressive throwing deep when the former aspects don't at all provide adequate support.
If Long plays next week (he prolly shouldn't), I'd play Jerry at RT and see what you have there for next year.
Big Jake needs to have the plug pulled, Colombo will start simply because Bowles has no reason to see what anyone has at RT. This is the downside to interim head coaches.
Think MMoore played very good, cant blame him from what I seen of him this year, keeps getting better. First half we play great, then Mr Bill adjusts his offence and we don't counter or change anything to what they do and we lose period, been the same story for years. No excuse to dominate 1 half and not finish, falls on the coaches.... imo. Merry Christmas... Happy Holidays to all...
If you want to Matt Moore as your QB the best thing you can do for him is keep him protected. Plus it would open up Reggie Bush even more in the pass if they do not have to help out the RT.
Reality is though, John Jerry has proven to be a better Tackle then Guard, we can insert him at RT, Jake at LT, bam, done.
That's what I am hopeful of. Jerry willl not be a bust at RT. If he starts at RT for the next few years he will be third round pick that was well worth it. He just took longer to develop than we hoped. The fact that he has held his own at LT, has me very hopeful. Makes me wonder about Sparano who insisted his best position was guard.
2 out of 5 drives in second half resulted in Moore turning the ball over. Moore could only lead Miami to 34 yards on 4 drives before Patriots went into prevent with 10 point lead at end of 4th. That's on the coaches? I like how Henne was blamed for not finishing, but Moore is excused when he commits "two" turnovers in the second half. Also interesting how Moore is 5-6 as starter in his first year with previous starting experience against mostly poor to average teams when Henne was 7-6 starter in his first season starting without previous starting experience and a fan base thinks he is "the answer"...
I'm certain most fans know Moore is not the answer. The problem is the Fins don't really have any other options at QB. The best case scenario is if the Rams get the 1st overall pick. Their GM has pretty much announced they are going to trade that pick and it will take at least 3 1st rounders!!
apparently Bowles has picked up on that..Columbo started today.... why the hell is that people?, can someone please splain it to me..
Easy. Incredible though it may be, he's the best we have at the position. We need to remedy that, in free agency or the draft; preferably the former.
Matt Moore threw a TD pass in his last offensive series of the game. I'm not sure how you can finish any better than that if you're a QB. It's unfortunate that Matt Moore couldn't take the field and get a defensive stop in the last two minutes to cap it off. Even some of the biggest Chad Henne supporters here have stopped trying to argue that Matt Moore isn't better. I see some won't let go though. It will be even more obvious next season.
The problem with moore is his 61 qb rating in the 4th quater.Thats what seperates the men from the boys brady, brees, manning, big ben, rodgers they thrive in those situations. Until he proves he can do that he is just going to be another average qb who can take you to maybe a wildcard win and thats it.I want more from my qb and think we need to trade up to at least try to get an elite one.
Henne was poor in the 4th this yr as well, whether that is due to the OL having protection issues is up to you to decide.
Moore is better than Henne. I think that is obvious. Whether clearing that embaressingly low bar is something worthy of gushing praise is a different story
Can someone explain to me the difficulty in getting a football from off the ground to a person standing a yard away without the said person dropping the ball? How hard can this be? If a coach cannot get his QB to be able to handle this then both should be removed. One already has. Fingers crossed on the other.
