IMO RG3 has more natural passing ability & better passing instincts than Vick did at Virginia Tech.
I also feel Griffin poses a greater potential to play the on-field chess game.

I've never heard him speak before tonight. He sounds like an extremely intelligent young man. I think he has a really bright future and he interests me A LOT as a player.

    me too.

.......and maybe it's the suit he was wearing, but his shoulders almost looked as broad or perhaps even broader than Luck's.

Here's the thing with this draft, Andrew Luck is a transcendant QB, RG3 has the potential to be..

Blackmon already said he's coming out. Explicitly. And a long time before he said it, Mike Gundy explicitly said he should come out.

Why are we only comparing RG3 to black QBs? I don't actually think he's similiar to any of them.

He's not Newton, and I agree with CK, Newton was a better passer. He's certainly not Vick. No cannon arm and no quicks. And he's not McNair either.

I don't know who to compare the kid to, but if you fix his footwork and make sure he can read NFL defenses, I think you have yourself a franchise QB. Great demeanor on the field, great accuracy on long and short throws, intelligence, some ability to extend a play.

He gets hit too much and doesn't always sense pressure very well, but then again that Baylor OL doesn't seem to be too stout. He is very fast in a straight line, but doesn't have a quick first step or good lateral movement. If he finds a big hole, he can burn you, but more often than not, he'll get stapled by a linebacker he should have juked.

Griffin has got a massive arm, so not sure where this "no cannon arm" comes from. He reminds me more of Randall Cunningham with more speed.

I don't think his arm strength is as impressive as Vicks. The no cannon arm was more of just pointing out that the comparison between those two doesn't work on that level. Its certainly in the upper echelon and more than enough to make any NFL throw.

Very few players have Vick's arm strength. But Griffin has a very big arm.

What Dolphins fans wouldn't want him? Or Barkley? Or Luck? Or Manning? We really have no place to be picky with QB after these past 12 seasons. Any of those would be better.

Whats cool is that we moved up in the draft, were gonna pick top 10, and there are 3 qbs available, with other teams that are in the top ten that won't need one..

There has definitely been a shakeup in the top of the draft rankings with Jacksonville's big win today and our loss.

dj, not a surprise by any stretch to see this from you -- as you (and i) were both very high on CKap last year ....

while CKap's show won't start til at least next year in SF ... RGIII seems to be without question, an upgrade in all facets to both CKap and CAM (though won't say his leadership is better than CAMs)

though many here did not agree on CKap, i'd be surprised if most didn't agree on RGIII ... he is unquestionably an elite talent

I find myself in an interesting position after watching hours and hours of RG3...I think what he brings to the table, overall, with that combination of intellect, confidence, and physical, that he is worth the risk, even if he fails..

Yup, you draft Griffin and add an excellent deep threat (along with a developing Gates) and let Bush, Marshall, and Bess (or preferably a more explosive slot receiver or #1 TE) take over underneath.

I'm increasingly worried that we may actually keep Ireland...and he may ask Barkley and/or RG3 if their moms are hookers. Or just not pick a QB or trade back.

I think at worst he becomes a 10-15 QB in this league. I see him capable of elite level play.

And there is a risk with RG3. Let's not get past that. Yes there are risks with all draft picks, but more so with Griffin then Luck or Barkley.

Luck has no weaknesses imo, but Barkley does, RG3 has more upside than Barkley..

gimmick and gadget qbs that run in college typically don't translate well to the NFL. You take someone like rg3 you better be using him as a game manager. I'm of the opinion that someone like vick would be better off in a traditional, pro style offense that is focused on running the football first, play action second. I think the problem stems from high school on up. The guy has always been faster than everyone else on the field so he's never taught the basics.

Cam Newton is the exception. Unless this rg3 guy tears up the combine I wouldn't be interested at all.

I don't agree. I think Barkleys upside is Drew Brees imo. Unless RG3s upside is Aaron Rodgers, then its not possible to have a higher ceiling.

I don't see Brees when I evaluate Barkley Nap..But I won't be upset with any of the three.

When it comes to RG3, I'am all in because my evaluation of him leads me to feel that I'am willing to take the risk on him as a man, and that skillset..Its worth the risk because of the upside, and the character that has been revealed.

Could not agree more! RG3 may not tear up the combine physically, but he will put up good numbers. If his wonderlick is ok I think Irish has been retained to GO GET ANOTHER BAYLOR GUY! I would always prefer luck to anyonye i have seen since Payton but given the situation RG3 would be a coup.
