see RGIII on nfl pregame today - seems like well spoken came from a military home - i think i could like this kid
The Bills are banged up and bad, but we are too. We may be starting JP Losman. And it's in Buffalo...maybe we'll get a snow game. It's always tough there anyway. Then the Patriots who may need a win to lock up the AFC East, and will want a first round bye anyway...in New England. Our best chance to win is the Jets game...Sparano's final game and at home. Maybe with a chance to ruin Jets playoff hopes...though unlikely, they may have clinched already. Bengals? Pretenders. AFC West...sucks. Titans are the only other contender. We could pick Top 5...even if we do get to 5-11. Lots of mediocrity this season. A 4-12 team will get the 4th pick.
After this weekend I believe the Dolphins will have either #5 or #6 draft standing, more likely #6 than #5...haven't crunched the SOS yet. I think the Dolphins win one more game and finish 5-11.
Shame Washington couldn't pull out a W against New England today, that would have been huge. Hard to see them winning another one at this point. Seattle has a good shot to win against Saint Louis though. pushing them further back.
Please crunch and post, can't wait to see where we wind up after todays games...Tonites game doesn't mean anything to us.
I'd say yeah. Listening to Ryan Mallet talk was painful. Andrew Luck talks like a 45 year old Congressman from Pennsylvania. I kind of need to see a Christian Bale type audio snippet from him to confirm that he doesn't have a foxhound blazer in his closet with patches on the elbows (RE: Luck). Compared to most collegiate athletes.....white/black/indifferent.....RG3 is well spoken.
I see where you are going and agree that the term "well spoken seems" to be exclusively used towards articulate African Americans imo.
Whats good is that the jets and Pats are fighting for position, there should be let down from their end, which is good, because our team gets their best, which equates to good draft position. hmm,I think 4 and 12 is the most likely scenario, buffalo on the road..
Not every College grad comes out edumacated though. RG seems to be very well spoken. Like he enjoyed his time in class as much as on the field.
Exactly. No one ever compliments a white athlete as "well-spoken". Its almost exclusively used to compliment a black athlete. It is a back-handed compliment that displays bigoted prejudice. The complimenter assumes the black guy is going to talk all ebonicsy.
STFU with that crap! I dont give a damn if its a black or white person. Being WELL SPOKEN is a gift. We're not talking ebonics vs the american language.
I just did and you're full of crap! The last thing you need to do is bring race into this website just because you THINK IT WAS a racist comment. Oh wait! Did you just tell me you can say what you want when you want to? Hmmm sounds like you just jumped into a BLACK KETTLE TO ME
And you think it isn't. That's cool with me. You can say whatever you want. I don't mind. This type underlying racism is everywhere. I'm just pointing it out. Nobody compliments white athletes as "well-spoken" because it is just assumed that they are. The previous guy assumed that RG3 would not be well-spoken. He was so surprised that he felt it necessary to point it out. A black guy with dreads speaks well! Surprise, surprise!!!
Let me tell you something you may not realize! The first time I herd Robert speak, I said DAMN!!!! He is a very well spoken person. I dont give a **** if he is black as the ace of spades. The color of his skin had absolutely nothing to do with it. I was impressed with the way he used his words and especially for a young man!
My point is that you should not be bringing race onto a message board like this. I get into it all the time with black males. Except its because I stole one of their sistas so they're always trying to find me to be racist so she will leave me. I love all races but I wont stand for a black person to tell me what I can or cannot say like everything is a racial issue.
Sad for you that you think everything the white man does has race involved. Yet we dont even know if that person is white or that he meant what you think .....ASSume
Not everything is a "racial issue". But sometimes things are and we don't even realize it. Especially in sports.
Like I said, not everything "has race involved". But a lot of stuff does. And you've done a lot of assuming about me.
No, I dont assume about you at all. All of my venom is pointed towards your post which claims EXACTLY what you thought. Your words not mine in post 185. Racism is everywhere. Including your assumption of his post.
Can someone update this with tiebreakers and such? Id like to know where we are at. If the Bills and Pats beat us, ill deal, I guess, if we get the #4 pick.
