I didn't get it all but it sounds to me that Archie thinks that neither guy wants to step on each others shoes??

So what that means to us maybe, is that Luck would demand not to be drafted by the colts because he doesn't want that tag of pushing Manning out of town??

man, if the Lucks hold out for another team, I would come to the table naked, as a gesture of my vulnerability..lol

he said things like he didn't think it was in the interest of both players being on the same team.

Than to you that would mean we have a chance at Luck?

It would mean that the Colts would have their hand forced (ala Archie and Eli and San Diego) whether Miami has the wherewithal to be the NY Giants in that scenario is another question.

To me that means Archie Manning's words should have absolutely zero influence on the thoughts or actions or Andrew and Oliver Luck.

I am comfortable with the relationship that Archie and Oliver share....that in fact, Oliver would be silly not to seek Archie's counsel since he in fact along with Eli went through exactly what Oliver and Andrew are going through (potentially)....and Archie and Peyton's experience would also be of solid counsel.

Its apples to apples and Oliver is no dummy to pass up the counsel and advice if placed in that situation. Few others if any could properly provide the insight!

Fair enough. I just believe that Andrew Luck should make his own decision. He is going to be the one playing, not his father, not Archie Manning. If he doesn't want to sit behind Peyton, then fair enough, Archie is definitely someone to look to for advice. However, I just think we all are hoping Luck will pull an Eli and come to Miami. I'd be elated if this happened, but I fully expect him to be a Colt come April.

Sounds to me like as fans, our need for an elite QB is reading into things... First we don't even know if Manning is going to be healthy or able to stay healthy. Second, the Colts have to give him up, if that's what they are inclined to do and third, because it's likely we'll have a new regime on board, will he fit into the regime's itinerary, and fourth does Peyton even want to come here? IF we stick with the Jeff and Tony show, can they adjust the offense to fit Peyton ?? Are they willing to not reign him in like they've done with Penny, Henne and now Moore ? There's a lot of questions about this that have to be answered before we get to the point that Peyton becomes available...

One bridge at a time...first, let's see what happens in January...

I dont disagree with you....I think indeed Andrew should make his own decision first and foremost. That said, if he does make his own decision and that comes to the realization that he doesnt want to sign with Colts if Peyton is still there....then....Archie's (and Eli's) advice on how to position and handle the teams as well as the media will be quite valuable, and again, its not like other former NFL QBs with #1 overall QB prospects are sitting around able to provide accurate advice.

Oliver would be silly to not listen to Archie, and same with Andrew if his decision matches Eli's situation.

we also should keep in mind that peyton and Luck speak to each other, this is not just about parents..Manning guided Luck thru his decision to say in school...This could get very interesting..

What would be the thought process of Luck as it pertains to Mannings situation and his projection to be there? what would be the reasoning for him to justify not going to the colts.?

IMO, if the colts have to pick one, they pick a younger/healthier Luck.

he also said that he believes that because of the recent success of rookie QBS he believes andrew can play next year, he thinks that Peyton will be able to play next year, so he said and I quote, ''somethings gotta give''.
