Yeah I had quite enough frustration with dark souls spamming hard enemies right before a save point just to **** with you that I chose to avoid dragons for a while in this game.
Just wait until you start having to cope with Dragon Priests ... those guys are tough, even for me at an advanced level.
Haven't encountered one of those yet. I'm looking forward to playing tonight. Just got back from the Tiger Woods Chevron World Challenge and I'm tired as hell from walking the course. I asked one of the marshalls where the fast pass travel was and he grunted at me like an orc! Good thing I didn't chain lightning his *** back to the clubhouse!
Just got the game today. Look forward to playing it. It is my first Elderly Scrolls game (though I did play a little Fallout and New Vegas).
Question for you guys. So I still have never installed the patch that was released the same day the game was released. Right now I'm level around 30 hours in the game and have only experienced two major game play stoppages. One was a loading freeze after a death and the other was just a straight freeze. Other than that the glitches I've experienced have been minor and far between. So what I'm wondering is if it is worth installing the patches or just not mess with a good thing?
I would avoid 1.2. I have it on the XBOX and it's been glitching my game like crazy. Bethesda is supposed to be releasing 1.3 sometime early this week.
I haven't fought any dragons yet (besides a dragon skeleton), but my smithing is near 100. I need to get heavy armor up to 70 so I can get that perk where armor weighs 0. Holy **** the thieves guild side quest took me the entire weekend.

I started out hating it but then when I realized I could ignore the "thou shalt not kill" crap in most of the missions I started having fun with it. My sneaking is much better now with the boots and some of the other stuff I picked up.
Yeah, I just found out about it. Kinda pissed me off because I've spent so much time developing light armor and just figured I'd roll with it the whole time, but with that perk there's really no point in foregoing the extra protection.
The sneak skill is so useful. I'm at 97 and I can sneak up on anyone, even if they are facing me. And with a couple of the sneak perks and a high level dagger, I can take out almost anything with one attack. I do have the Nightingale armor, which also helps. I'm going for 100 in enchanting and alchemy next. -Ed- sent from my mobile device
That's the Daedra armor right? I want to make it, and I have the perk but I can't find Daedra hearts. I remember one of you said Azura's shrine quest, but those dudes were ****ing me up real bad so I went invisible with the nocturnal perk to sneak past them and kill the dude to finish the quest. I tried every which way to kill those guys but they were toasting me with 2 fireballs. No time to even potion up. I think the fact that enemies level up as you do screwed me over on that quest. I had just gone past 40 and could do nothing to touch them. The fact that I'm still using light armor because I can't find decent heavy armor isn't helping either.
Yes - that is the Daedra armor. I got the hearts when I did that quest where you find the pieces of Mehrune's Razor. While searching for the pieces I found an Ebony Bow of Banishment that sends level 37 and under daedra back to Oblivion. At the end of the quest, I had to fight 2 Daedra and I took them out the old fashioned way - hack and slay. Then I went into the shrine and there were two more. Those guys I shot while sneaking with that bow. One shot each and they were toast. 4 hearts gave me the armor, helmet, boots and gauntlets. I need one more for the shield. Popped my skyrim cherry. So far early in the game (just got unbound). All I can say that it looks great in Ultra video settings. So far running smooth as silk.
Yeah, did that one already and pissed away all the hearts. But still have Mehrune's Razor that I use to sneak cut people.
Nah, probably made some bull**** potions. I think alchemy is worthless in this game. The only potions I ever use are restore health / restore magicka. And with the nifty little "iron man" mask I have that makes it regenerate 100% faster, don't even use restore magic anymore. I'm very OCD about my carrying weight, so I've just decided to stop carrying ingredients and only keeping restore health potions. And you find enough of those scattered about without having to make them. Although there are a couple other handy potions I'll keep like cure disease, blacksmith, and maybe a couple others.
