Firstly, I'd like to start out by saying that the TD catch to win the game had me at the point of tears.. All the anger, all the games we should have won, all the glory that has been zapped from this franchise finally paused after over a year of misery and losses.

With that being said, Cameron is continuing to prove that he is NOT WORTHY of being the coach of this team, or any team for that matter. 1st down from the 12 yard line and we RUN, RUN again on 2nd, then run again on 3rd to settle for a field goal. 2:00 left on the gameclock and the game is over if Lemon can convert a first down near the 4. We run up the middle 3 times and give them the ball with 20 seconds left and no timeouts. Game OVER. Instead, this moron dives in the Wanny-Stache mode and decides to play conservative at the worst moment. The same OC that screwed up SD playoff runs by making very questionable calls. So we kick the FG, and Cameron decides to do another idiotic kickoff. You would think that after screwing that up throughout the season they would have a normal kickoff, but they give the ball to Ravens at the 40. We are DAMN fning lucky the Ravens played like cowards with 12 seconds, trust me they could have run right up the middle for a TD, and even if they missed they would have time for a spike play.

We won this game on PURE luck, and Cameron once again proved that when the time comes to make a decision he normally makes the wrong one.
For gods sake they can't even ICE the damn kicker the right way!!!!

Yeah, we should of passed 3 straight times....maybe get 3 straight incompletions or worse yet a turnover giving the Ravens MORE time + MORE TIMEOUTS!

    Some people are never happy......:confused2:

His play calling was perfect. The penalty on the kickoff was what screwed the dolphins more than anything!

Guys, I like Cameron personally. He seems like a great person. But all season long he has either made dumb calls like going for it on 4th and 15, or even dumber calls like running the ball straight up the gut 3 times in a row when you can ice the game with a TD or a first down. And don't give me the inexperienced QB excuse our D has proven over and over again that it will choke given the opportunity. Remember the Houston game? The game against the Redskins? The Buffalo game? Teams need about 1 minute to drive down the field against us, and Cameron turns all conservative at the end of the game giving the Ravens 2 full minutes to get in to field goal range. Stupid any day of the week.

Well, aren't we just a ray of friggin sunshine. Can't even enjoy a win without someone eager to rain on the parade. Ya know, it doesn't matter how the game was won........IT WAS WON.......that's all the record books will show.

Now, I guess you'd like to follow this post up by going to everyones house and kicking their dog, right?

He missed it.....isn't that the point of icing the kicker?

Even after a win, there's still people who need to complain.

I feel bad for you bumrush.

You're sabotaged by your own flawed perception of things. You'll do anything to find a reason why Cameron is at fault or somehow unworthy, even after he somehow engineers a 10-point comeback and turns an obviously talent-challenged Cleo Lemon into a 300-yard passer.

I've met so many fans like this. You get stuck on an agenda (Cameron can't possibly be good, in this case) and maintain it at all costs.

It reminds me of the people that continued to hold fast to their "Ronnie Brown is bust" stance even after multiple 200-yard performances.

Yes, and we did it with one of the worst offenses in the league....what's your point? You can't enjoy a win? It must really suck to live in your world.

no i can enjoy a win

last time i checked, winning a game and having a bad coach are mutually exclusive.

yes, we do not have much talent on offense. but, whats the point of hiring an 'offensive genius' that can't motivate players? because obviously he hasn't helped this offense AT ALL

You have got to be joking. As sad as this offense has looked, it is the most we have seen from it in years.....even with all of the injuries to our key offensive players. As for motivation....they get all of the motivation they need on payday. They are professional athletes, not actors who need to be reminded of what their motivation should be. Do you expect your boss to come out and give you a rah rah speech every morning when you get to work? If so, then maybe you are in the wrong line of work....the same can be said for the players. If they don't have the intestinal fortitude to give 100% every gameday, then I sure as hell wouldn't want them on my team. If the love of the game isn't motivation enough.....the paycheck should be.

It was a nice game but I still have my doubts on Cameron's coaching abilities. There were a few head-scratchers even today on some calls. Plus, if Ravens decided to go for it on 4th and 1, the way they'd been running late in the game, we could all be singing a different song right now. But I'm happy we won after so many weeks. Now if only the Pats could fall next.

I disagree. Cam can be an NFL coach. Give him a chance to adapt and get his personnel to his system. Yes we need to replace some coaches - Armstrong in particular. Capers has been questionable a lot. Why play prevent at the end of the game instead of the the base defense that had controlled the Ravens in the second half.

this offense is much worse than anything we saw when we had linehan as OC. and if you think every nfl team is motivated every week you are delusional. they are getting paid every two weeks regardless. motivating pro athletes is THE biggest obstacle a head coach faces today.

I understand where the OP is comming from, but fact is that we won. There have been other games where we could have one but things didn't fall our way . . . . this time they did, and we won . . . thats part of the game.

But to be honest, I was REAL upset that we ran the ball 3 times on 1st and 10 from the Bmore 13 yardline . . . . he pretty much settled for the FG, and I didn't like that at all. In the end, we probably lose the game if he didn't run 3 times (unless we score a TD by passing) because Bmore would have had Timeouts left.

I know if BMORE scores that TD from the 1 yard line, that series would be HUGE and it would be a Cam bash fest right now . . . but it didn't happen, and we are 1-13 . . BABY.

is there a FH law that we can't talk about the negatives or complain on what happened in the game? i must of missed it. this is a discussion board. we are all here to discuss things, whether they are positive or negative. i was so happy i called all my friends about the win but if someone wants to complain or talk about the negatives then let them. if you don't like it then don't read their threads.

and yes, we won by luck but a win is a win so im happy. i bet there would be more ppl calling for Cam's head if Stover's didn't miss that FG. we either would all be talking about how Cam should of went for the TD instead of the FG or why he did a short kick over a long kick or something else.

I agree with the poster above me. Just because it was a win doesn't mean there can't be complaints about it. It wasn't a 42-0 blowout victory. It was a 22-16, won-due-to-missed-FG victory. A victory nonetheless but, doesn't mean they don't have complaints.

The Pats won today pretty decisively, I can still complain. And my team's 14-0.

Cam has made questionable calls all year. He is either too aggressive or not aggressive at all. He has taken points off the boards several times by going for it on 4th rather then kicking a FG.

He reminds me of Nick Saban in a way that Nick brought in players from the SEC in the draft regardless of who else was available.
<Mindless rant> Just think of the QB we could have right now instead of Jason Allen (cutler anyone)if the man had pulled the trigger on a trade.</mindless rant>
Cam is doing the same with players he knew from San Diego. Its not necessarily a bad thing but Cleo Lemon, despite playing fantastic today, is not a starter on any other team.

I have said it before But I would rather see a head coach angry and in melt down mode then emotionless. Football at all levels is an emotional game. Maybe this is something to build off of but how many seasons does he get? He can install his system but he is a head coach and until hes a better and established head coach I want an OC in a booth making the calls. I want someone on the field to slap him in the back of the head if he thinks about not punting or not kicking a FG. (similar to how i wanted him to kick ronnie in the nuts every time he stutter stepped in the back field.)

I know we won and Im happy but this is only 1 win. We were very close to being the most pathetic team ever in the nfl, and while we will avoid the % we still can and probably will lose more games then the bucs.

Cam Cameron both cut his teeth today, and also got very very lucky.

He took a 2nd or 3rd string QB, a RB who was walking the street late in the year, a rookie who has barely played, and a cast off player from the scrap heap to win the game.

Our porous Defense still choked with 2 minutes to go, Armstrong's pop fly kick was a disaster, and CAm did what he needed to do:

Don't whine about the cast offs, take them and win the darn game.

Cam finally made it over the hump, whether that means he is back next season, who knows? But he showed heart, and guts, and he actually learned that clock management really matters in the NFL, I agreed 100% with his decisions down at the 7 yd line, he bled the clock and did a good job of it for a change.

you know.... i don't think just b/c we won today should remove any criticism of Cameron. I've been critical of him all year, and just because we won today does not mean he is infallible for the next week.

While the timing of starting this thread may be suspect, the point remains a valid one: Cameron has made decisions and has conducted this team at a subpar level; a level that this team has never seen in the history of its franchise. I agree that first-time head coaches should have a chance to install their system and get "used" to the gig..... however, no coach in recent history has begun his tenure and done so poorly. Granted, a LOT of the blame falls on Mueller, but we (as fans) don't know whom the onus falls on for each little problem.

If Cameron had gotten us 4-5 wins at a bare minimum this year, i'd be all for giving him another year or two to see his "system" pan out.... but taking a team that was 9-7 in 2005, then 6-10 last year, making the roster moves that he did and put this team in this predicament does NOT inspire confidence to me. Frankly it is pretty difficult in this day and age of the NFL to manage to go winless for this long.... you almost have to TRY to get to this point.

The bottom line is the personnel moves have been very questionable, the gameplans have shown severe weaknesses, the team has not looked prepared often, and of course, the play-calling has been suspect frequently. You add up all these factors, and hold that up right next to our record - i think you'll see where all this criticism of Cameron is coming from.

I, for one, am not convinced he should be back next year. I have not seen enough from him to warrant a continuance.

next time I'd like some eggs oand OJ with my re-hash...sorry for the sarcasm, kinda, but I've been drinking (again)....We all have heard what you posted all season long and i don't think this one win will change any one's opinion one way or the other. We know it's only one win and that Cam has some shortcomings....Some of us have been waiting so long for W that we just want to enjoy it:ffic:

This is what annoyed me about the game; Cam's post game press conference. "I knew THIS day would come..."

I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Was that really the goal, ONE win?

I was impressed by the effort, but little else. The team really has no foundational strength to fall back on. In overtime we were mauled on the line of scrimmage. Baltimore ran smack down the field before the missed FG, then our lone running play before the TD pass we were stuffed in the backfield for a 3 yard loss. The linemen are overmatched, for the most part.

Also, I bust up at the Ronnie Brown apologists. I never said he was a bust but I always maintained he never would return #2 pick value. And I'd love to make that wager every day for the remainder of his career. Find one competent player evaluation where Ronnie Brown is rated extremely high, where a #2 overall should be. Let's see, I should be able to play about 10,000 rounds of golf before you locate such a moronic evaluation. Maybe his relatives think he's the best back in the league. They love stutter steps.
