Moore has put up some better numbers then Marino did.

    Perspective, here have some.

I'm not getting a franchise QB vibe from Tannehill. I never have. Griffin eh somewhat he's a question but he has huge potential. Barkley though I see it. Which brings me to another thought.

If Miami were to essentially say screw it let's get the most difficult spots right and trade their 1st plus a future 1st, plus their 2nd+3rd to get a top QB prospect and a top pass rusher would anyone complain? For a long time this franchise found steals at less important spots. Safety? Right tackle? Guard? Running back? I really don't care about those spots as much. End of the day it's critical they get these two positions right and from there on figure out the rest.

A draft class of Matt Barkley and Courtney Upshaw would be exactly what Miami needs to start a new era. We'll figure out the rest later.

Gutting a team that already has holes is just a BAD strategy. Poor surrounding talent is about the most detrimental thing that can be done to a young QB. Has ruined many QB careers before they ever had a chance to get started.

Well, guess this game answers that question. Matt Moore was ****ing awful today. Accuracy that would make Tim Tebow cringe. Matt Moore is a backup QB. Always will be.

Currently we are picking in the top 10 (actually, aren't we top 5 currently??). 3-8...and we still have to go into New England, Oakland is no cake walk, the rejuvenated Eagles, At Buffalo...I know they're down but they've beaten us the past two years with worse teams, and of course the Jets who may be fighting for a playoff spot...I doubt we get more than 5 wins.

That's kind of a non-sensical statement. You can't compare players from different eras on a stats basis.

The only QB in this class even remotely worth giving up that much for is Andrew Luck.

Moore played a good game, even with 3 fumbles, because he only lost one of them. 19 for 32, 288 yards with a TD. His third highest passing yards in a game. Honestly Tony Sprano should have let Moore just air it out three times on the last drive. Up by 2 points...don't run out the clock, stretch that field. Air it out on some 25+ plays. Moore had two big throws...both of which happened to be 1 AND 2 on tonight's SportsCenter top 10 plays. Sprano reminds me of Fox, when Fox was here in Carolina.

Bad play calling and 3 bad throws sum up the game but Moore had at least 5 top drawer plays last night . The conservative calls on the last drive make thing look worse IMO . We had them beaten in 20 to 25 yrd plays all night should've gone for the jugular instead of what we tried to do .

This is the same offense we saw with Henne, minus the drive and momentum killing turnovers and drops. In the red zone I saw the same, don't make a mistake throws from Moore, I've come to expect from Dolphins QBs under Sparano. Enjoy the games, but try not to expect Moore, this year or next.

The throw behind Hartline in the back of the end zone cost us a touchdown and, as it turned out, the game. What is ruining this team in the long run, though, is its inability to run the ball against good front sevens, which puts everything on Moore, especially in the red zone.

Seeing Daboll run Reggie and Thomas into brick walls repeatedly reminds me of the saying about the definition of madness being doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. Dodo... If something is consistently not working, try something else. You are writing a check that your offensive line obviously cannot cash. There are other running plays than running back up the middle.

That comes from a poorly constructed offensive line. Anyone with a two decent brain would tell you that Marc Colombo is done, Vernon Carey can't use his strength to his advantage because he has terrible technique for a guard and simply can't bend his knees (pass protection is mediocre), Pouncey doesn't have enough strength yet, Incognito can only short pull, and Jake needs a knee surgery.

Back in 2007 Cam Cameron had:

    LT- Vernon Carey
    LG- Chris Lewienski
    C- rookie Samson Satele
    RG- Rex Hadnot
    RT- L.J. Shelton

The execution of that mediocre group of players is better than a unit that has Jake Long, Richie Incognito, Mike Pouncey, Vernon Carey, and Nate Garner. How the heck is that even possible? Only Tony Sparano could put together such an ill-fitting incredibly poorly run offensive line.

Just my opinion, but the only glaring issue that will keep MM as a back up QB is his Pocket Awareness, or Lack of Pocket Awareness...

He is really terrible at it and if opponents don't go for sacks, they could make MM have more turnovers, by knocking the ball out of his hands...

I have seen MM have guys 2 ft in front of him and he takes the hit/sack like it came from his blind side. Had no clue whatsoever that the guy was there...

I don't blame the game on him though. If the D would have stopped them and just allow the FG, Big Dallas would have still won...

Plenty of separation by the receivers. Too bad Moore is a backup caliber QB who displayed some vomit inducing ball placement. Thank god our receivers put on one of the best performances I've seen with some of the catches they had to make on those poorly placed passes. But hey, if you want to defend mediocre QB play, be my guest. Just know mediocre QB's like Moore and Henne aren't going to win us ****.

Yeah, I agree with this. Moore had some terrible freaking throws. Even the deep pass to Hartline was disgusting as Hartline had his man beat by like 4 yards and would have had a longer gain if it wasnt so underthrown. Same with the Marshall pass, it was underthrown by 5 yards and should have been picked off.

I could see Luck stating that he will remain at Stanford for another year instead of being drafted by the Colts and sitting behind Manning for a few seasons. It would not surprise me in the least if Luck doesn't force a trade to a team he would prefer to play on. The Colts this year have clearly shown that they are a very bad team. I can understand why he would have no desire to play for them.

The Colts would be must better off trading the first pick in the draft. They would get a ton of picks for this selection and with Manning returning next season, they would be able to use all these picks to rebuild their team. They could also select one of the other top QB's in the draft to sit behind Manning for a couple of years before he eventually takes over the offense.

Pretty much. The receivers constantly bailed Moore out. That Marshall TD was just a terrible, terrible pass. There were at least 2 bad passes to Hartline where he made a great play on the ball. There was the Bess one handed grab that was a bad pass. I'm sure there were more, was too drunk to remember.

This ship has sailed. Colts aren't trading the 1st pick. They're too smart for that. They'll trade or cut Manning.

My assumption under the scenario is he would have to be cut. Trading him is too much of a cap hit, I think.
So it would be just a matter if dollars.

Just take a look at what happened with Matt Moore from 2009 to 2010 for your answer. He'll make a phenomenal back up. We don't want to repeat the Bills mistake.

So Moore is awful because he puts the ball in a spot for the receiver to catch it?

How long have you been watching this sport? Have you never heard of ball placement? I think I know the answer to that if you actually believe Moore was putting the ball in good spots. Those throws to Marshall and Hartline where they had their receiver beat by a few yards and had to come back to get the ball tells you all you need to know. That one handed grab by an open Bess tells you all you need to know.

Not even he knows. This is just a case of how sad this fanbase has gotten. Some of these people forgot what competent QB play looks like. They've grown to be ok with mediocrity since that's all this franchise has given us since Marino retired. They see a mediocre journeyman backup QB have 2 good games and start throwing around the word "Franchise QB". They see us string together a few wins despite starting the season 0-7 and start talking playoffs and keeping Sparano. It's sad really, but one day a real coach, and real QB will come around to rehabilitate these fans.

Because, you have no argument, there is nothing to counter when hyperbole and opinion is stated as fact, and then a rather sad little "victory" lap taken.
