Take a look at ESPN's playoff predictor. http://espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs/machine. It doesn't take too much tinkering to get the Pains in the playoffs.

The most unlikely scenario is the Dolphins finishing with 9 straight wins. Otherwise they don't really need that much help.

The Dolphins best hope is for the Bengals to fall apart. Otherwise both wild card teams will come from the AFC North.

You guys do recall the last time the Dolphins drafted a QB in the 1st, it was pick 27? Right?

The Colts, Jets, Bills, Patriots, and Chiefs may have drafted the best QB in 83' if they had a few more wins in 1982.

    It takes alot of tinkering.

The Bills need to continue to fall apart, as do the Jets. Plus Cincy has to lose 4 out of its last 6. We are still two full games behind Buffalo and the Jets.

Beyond the near impossibility of finishing with 9 straight wins, we have too many conference losses and are behind too many teams. It's not going to happen.

Perhaps had we won some of our earlier games we could be having a legitimate discussion. Oh well, par for the Dolphins course

I'm starting to think Weeden takes a huge tumble due to his age and he just may be our qb

As much as I would like that, no way can I see it happening. I think in the long run it would hurt this team, by putting a franchise QB like Barkley, Weeden, Jones, etc out of reach for us to draft one of them. IMVHO we cannot afford to win many more games because we need to draft high enough to get one of the "franchise QB's" talked about so much on this site.

It does remind me of '83 where the talk for the longest time was Elway, then Marino...but then Marino fell all the way down with those rumors...so in the end Miami did get the 2nd BEST QB, even though so many others were taken between he and Elway.

Now, most folks dont claim Weeden to be 2nd rated like Marino (at least not the consensus), but I think most agree he could be 2nd BEST with his ability to start from day one and his attributes make him ready, etc.

So, if he slides like Marino....fine by me! Granted we wont be down in the Playoff 21-32 range...but if he slides to us regardless, I think he could be a hidden gem and we benefit.

I only had to give the Bengals and Titans 1 upset loss each. And set the rest to win off current win%.

The Dolphins win out and all the current 5-5 teams have to play better than they have and go 4-2 just to make it to 9-7. I'm not calling it likely. I'm not even hopeful. I just like seeing that the path that keeps the Phins in contention is more simple than most think.

Except for the whole winning 9 in a row with Matt Moore as your starting QB.

But hey, dream it if you'd like. This convo may be moot in 72 hours

You recall that the only reason that happened id because everyone thought Marino enjoyed coke right?
Hmmm that gives me an idea.

Andrew Luck is a cokehad, you heard it here first!

Obviously. I said as much in my earlier post. Rooting for playoffs during football season is always better than draft talk in November.

We're a 3-7 team and won 3 games in a row yes, but don't forget we lost 7 before and now ppl are going nuts since we defeat 3 teams which we have to beat anyways! If we had won all the games which we should have won (Browns, Broncos, Jets) than we would be sitting at 6-4 or at least 5-5 and would be in the middle of the wildcard race! But anything is possible, especially that it looks like a 9-7 or a 8-8 team could make the wildcard this year but i doubt it!

Just take a look at the Broncos, Tebow really sucks as a QB but somehow he finds a way to keep winning!

easy...easy...miami beat 3 crap teams...plus moore had a very short field to work with due to the defense and special teams..he didn't have to deliever 70-80 yard drives...let's see what happens when Miami playsa good team on thursday
