This thread really shows how bad off we are, when we are already only concerned with our draft pick # and not winning a few games. Very sad indeed.

    Slightly left of center
I could easily see the Colts taking a CB, FS, LT, RB or WR if Manning will be back. Which he will. We could very easily be the team to trade w/ Carolina if we end up with say 5 or six overall. Or if we have the 3 pick Luck could still be on the board.

And if they don't have Brandon Marshall standing by to run the card up to the commish when that happens hold your ears...

    Agreed completely.
You don't go from playoff contender to not only winless but winless and completely inept because your QB goes down.
Yes P. Manning is the most important player on the Colts but football is a team sport. They have talent.
Every player over there should be embarrassed.
The NFL should really require them to wear tennis skirts the rest of the season.

How as of today is Carolina in 2nd?

the first rule of tie-breaker is SOS from lowest to highest......

    as of today.....

    SOS:
Carolina 43-39 for a total of 82 games played
Minny 47-34 for a total of 81 games played
St. Louis 45-37 for a total of 82 games played
Miami 42-40 for a total of 82 games played

Miami has the worst record of those 4.....so Miami gets the 2nd pick right now no?

hindsight on rodgers....a lot of people passed on him. matt ryan isnt that great. look at the weapons he has on offense.

how about brady quinn? the only plus to drafting ted ginn was we didnt get quinn, another bust.qnyone that watching quinn in college knew he wasnt good, atleast ginn was fast lol.

drafting a qb isnt our answer but i wish it would happen so all you people who think drafting a big name will fix everything will shut up.

we have no LG on the roster. we have no RT. both of our starters don't belong in the nfl.

we have limited WR talent. Marshell quits in the second half if he has any kind of challenge and drops everything. our other wrs wouldnt even make most nfl rosters.

worst TE in football. he doesnt block, he doesnt run, he can barley catch. save for a few games he's done nothing. another dallas cast away. thanks tony.

we don't have a FS. our SS is average at best.

our secondary is horrible. young talent but theyve been hurt. will allen plays like a rookie. davis running his mouth about being the best tandem....GTFO.

our coaching and play calling is the worst in the nfl. period. im still sour over the 4th and goal fade against NE week 1 let alone the poor use of bush.

**** theres a ton more i could say but **** it. i hope we lose out and get barkley so you all can see how much it isnt the qbs fault.

It's actually too bad that the Broncos are winning games with that option run attack of theirs. Brady Quinn was next on the list and he actually looked really good in camp.

I know he's a bust but I liked him and I'd still love to see him succeed.

You're gonna have to delve in a little deeper when you say he can't catch, run, or block.

Hell I don't even know what you mean when you say he can't run. What is that supposed to mean?

A lot of people were damned stupid. Just because all the other NFL teams are jumping off a roof doesn't mean you have to do it, too.

He's better than what we have.

No, we already tried drafting a couple. John Beck, Chad Henne...
The answer is drafting a STAR QB early in the first round.

He should cartwheel down the field and catch with his feet. When he is targeted, he has been clutch. Even back in the early games like against the Pats.

Wow! You may find it hard to believe but with a franchise Qb on the roster, the battle is on an upward incline. Without one, its sloping downward fast.

The only to decent points you make are LG, RT, and the Safeties.

Yeah, I have no problem with Fasano at all. Could we have a better TE? Surely but he is not the problem on offense.

How can anyone argue our need for a franchise QB?? Brady aside, seems like its been forever since a non 1st rd qb won a sb and forever since we drafted one in the first! Who was that guy anyway?

If you read the first two posts....in the OP, the site he uses is PROJECTING the rest of the season to calculate SoS%.....so its a guess. That's why INDY has 1 win.

In the 2nd post, GBN uses actual results to date then calculates S0S% based on the full schedule for all 16 teams on your schedule and all their games played to date. http://www.gbnreport.com/weeklydraftorder.html

only using actual records thru week 10, and adding total opponent wins to date divided by total opponent games played. Dolphins scheduled opponents have played 145 games not 82! Must use fulll schedule with your AFCE counted twice per NFL rules.

Eitherway, since the season is not over both #'s will change come week 17 end of regular season.

    No they dont!:pity:

Even using actual thru only week #10 (GBN method) still #2 pick in round 1 would go to CAR whose SoS% is .514% using actual records of opponents to date. We would have #3 if ended today.

You are missing the full schedule of both these teams....all 17 weeks....you have to count the future opponents on the schedule as laid out and include their records thru week 10, and that includes your division opponents twice per NFL rules. See post #73!

Regardless like I said, its fun to play around and speculate but either approach, GBN method, PROJECTED METHOD, or even your method is meaningless till all the games are actually played and final results are most accurate.

yes bro that's what I am doing going on SOS through the games that are already played thru Week 10, not through everything....like I said if Weeks 11-17 are eliminated and they just erase them from the schedule all together Miami has the 2nd pick....you cant tell what the teams in Weeks 11-17 are going to do, but you can so far Weeks 1-10....to project and speculate is meaningless....I am just going on what games are finished...

Indy is killing the chances of Miami's 2nd pick right now.....they have to play Carolina......

That too is speculation! No one knows how NFL would handle it since its never happened.

I agree that only calculating up to weeks completed for SoS% this is how ESPN tracks it while waiting for future games to be played thus not including those opponents records just yet (http://espn.go.com/nfl/standings/_/type/playoffs/sort/projectedWins), but not 100% how NFL would handle things if for some reason a situation arises to cancel games.

But since that's never happened once a season started, atleast GBN looks at your scheduled opponents including properly counting your division rivals twice. This most accurately calculates thru week 10 your full schedule.

I dont lose sleep over either method, but honestly couldnt tell you how the draft order would be determined if a season was cancelled and games in future werent played, etc. Who knows.

hahahahahaha I know BDH I am looking for any reason to say Miami has the second pick, mainly because my head will explode if they don't.....so many opportunities if they get the 2nd pick....trade down one, still get a QB and extra picks, because I am sure Minny, Carolina, and STL would love to get their hands on Blackmon...

well you bring up an interesting point...that may only get more and more interesting depending on how things shake out, and that is the NFL RULE that all teams tied with the same record must rotate following the first round and alternate in rounds 2-7.

So SoS% clearly sets round 1, but its used to determine 2-7.

Lets say 4 teams are all tied #2 thru #5 picks.....we know the rotation is #2 team, #3 team, #4 team, #5 team in round 1, but then I believe it rotates and becomes #3 team, #4 team, #5 team, and #2 team in round 2, then #4 team, #5 team, #2 team, #3 team...etc., etc..etc...all thru round 7.

Thus trading any future 2012 pick slots is impacted.

Lets say, Miami has #3 in round 1, and two QBs are taken, knowing that we would move up to officially the #2 slot in round 2, we could go Blackmon in round 1 @ #3, and then with #34 pick (#2 in round 2) we could grab our best ranked QB. Or we use the #34 as incentive to trade back into the 1st.

Just something to think about.....in reverse, if we have #2 in round 1, we should grab QB, cause we would fall all the way to #37 overall (#5 in round 2) before our next pick. And not as attractive to teams if we can only offer #37 for trade up purposes, etc.

Yes I see that on here alot with Miami taking Blackmon 1st, and Weeden in the 2nd round or trading back into the 1st to get him......it is a very interesting scenario...AT THE VERY LEAST if that was the case I bet teams would offer a boat load to trade into that 2nd pick to get him....
