Oh I am TOTALLY being a Nord. Like anyone didn't see that coming. I'm buying this tomorrow and hoping to play it all weekend ... man I can't wait.
A guy I work with has his girl going to pick up his copy tonight as we don't get out of work until like 1130
I'm weak. I was going to try and wait on this game (since I've recently picked up a few others) but the reviews are going to push me over the edge I think. Plus I have a $30 reward certificate I have to use at best buy by Jan 1st or so.
I want to buy this so bad but my wallet's a little tight right now. I'm fighting the urge to whip out the best buy credit card.
Aren't all BBCC purchases subject to 90 days of no interest? I thought it used to be like that at least, because I remember buying games in college and having plenty of time to pay them off.
Every time you think, okay, they can't possibly do a worse interface than that, Bethesda goes ahead and does a worse interface than that. I really like the new skill system and the world's a huge, fun sandbox as always, but damn, the inventory really tries hard to make this game unplayable for me.
Yeah at a minimum. I bought a new PC from them a couple of months ago with 18 months of no interest. If it wasn't for that it would be a no brainer but I'm a couple of months from paying off the PC. I want Uncharted 3 as well.. soon hopefully.
11/11/11.... Game in hand....so far..... AWSOME!! Playing on XBOX 360.....Vizio 37" 1080p.....looks amazing. It feels a bit tighter cobat wise.....more finishing move visuals. Went straight to dual, since you couldnt in the other ES games.....graphics are beautiful....
Bout 10 hours in, and maybe two or three quests in to main story...so many side quests, so much **** to do! Usually Im the guy who runs through the main quest chain and then does everything else.

I'm about 15 hours in and all I can say is WOW! This game has been a blast to play so far. I've done all of like 3 of the main story missions, instead focusing on leveling and improving my perks. I'm building a Warrior based Nord and focusing on One-Handed Weapons, Light Armor, and Block. Early on I ran into some challenges clearing a few dungeons but with some of the better one handed perks (additional damage + bleed damage) my guy is finally turning into the powerhouse I envisioned when creating him. Some of that is I'm getting the hang of combat - before I was simply rushing in frenetically, now I'm using my shield and battling in a much more read-and-react manner. My only complaints about the game are the interface for selling needs a little work, and I find myself closing out of menus completely accidentally. I've had some choppiness, but it was only in one specific area. Otherwise the game is exactly what I wanted; expansive, open ended, and just incredible. This is the game Fable III wishes it was.
Similar to mine except Heavy Armor, and I like to use my bow at range a lot (though I favor one handed weapons).
Reign.....my nord, is dual wielding at the moment. Main hand waraxe, and off hand sword. Focusing on building one handed weapons at the moment....only Level 4. For me....this is EASILY the best RPG I have ever played.....the immersion factor is almost off the charts. Just a beautiful piece of artwork......
I am a Redguard who mainly dishes out two handed death. This game is practically what I imagined Fable to be when I was first described Fable. The only negative for the game is the lack of a true companion. The game feels kind of lonely, unlike Dragon Age. Still love it.
I'm about 25 hours in now. I've killed 4 or 5 dragons. My last encounter ended badly for the dragon, whom I flourish killed quite epically. This game is among the best games I've played ever. I don't recall dropping 25 hours in 2 and a half days on a game before. Also, I'm looking for some advice (minor spoilers so beware) ... Spoiler I am now a Werewolf. I don't plan on transforming (I prefer fighting with sword and shield), but I do get disease immunity with it. The only downside is that I am no longer well rested. I can cure it ... I'm just not sure if the tradeoff is worth it. Right now I'm leaning towards staying immune to disease.
Yeah, when is the last time that kind of stuff was fun? This game is a blast. I don't play games much anymore, but i stays up until 5 in the morning with my brother in law playing side by side. I'm a red guard who alternates between 2 handed weapon, and 1 handed weapon spell caster. I'd like to stay as a 1 handed fighter, but I find the one handed swords to be a but too under lowered at this point to be of much help.
That's completely unacceptable. That's why I just pick stuff up from the store. Except I haven't been able to pick this up yet.. damn it.
How is it unacceptable? If it was regular shipping (ie the free one), then it's typically 3 days to deliver (they don't do release date delivery like amazon to my knowledge). Well if it was shipped USPS then Friday was a holiday and they never deliver on Sunday. If it was UPS well they don't do weekend delivery. FedEx doesn't do Sundays, not sure if they do regular deliveries on Saturday. What he could've done was go to like best buy or Wal-Mart or wherever on Friday, picked up the game and just returned the copy he was getting from NewEgg.
Agreed that it's unacceptable. Next time I'll go with Amazon release day delivery. That always works for me and it's on my front door when I get home from work. I did the NewEgg for this one because it was 12 bucks off. It's not a huge deal because I was at a wedding all weekend anyway, but if I had been home all weekend without it I would have had a melt down.
Right now I'm wearing steel armor that I made with a regenerate magicka ability that I enchanted onto it.
OMG, there are so many quests. Almost every time I go to finish a quest I pick up 5 more. After playing for most of the weekend, I have finally made it to all of the main cities. Right now I am doing the Thieves Guild quests. They are really fun. My favorite quests are the ones about the civil war. I was on the Imperials side, long live the empire, and kicked some rebel scum's ***.
I have this game, and only got to character creation, and that's it. Why do elves look like aliens? Anyways, im stuck playing BF3 and I have to finish Deus Ex. Skyrim a winter project I guess.
Im a Nord who uses heavy armor and one handed weapons. Initially I wanted to go prototypical warrior with the shield, but I quickly learned that even with a great shield, when fighting multiple enemies, they can do alot of damage. So i dual wield with a one handed weapon (dwarwen mace right now) and regular fire magic in my left hand with few perks put in it, it is pretty good formula for me, never had too much trouble with anybody, really. As for your other....problem. Spoiler I suggest keep it. I don't usually transform either, but not getting poisoned or diseased is a great bonus. Plus, when I just don't feel like fighting a giant frosted spider or a large group of dudes, I transform, beat their asses real quick, and just "wait" coupe hours and I go back to my normal form. As for resting bonuses...well, I never sleep anyway. Just my .02. I found an interesting loophole last night. If you join the Companions in the first city, and complete their entire quest chain, you become their leader, which gives you the ability to command any of them as your sidekick, which allows you to "give" them anything or "take" everything from them. Well, most of them have the ability to "teach" you stuff for money, like Archery, double handed weapons and whatnot...So you can spend money to learn it, and then go to their inventory and take it back. Since I don't steal anything in the game, I found this as a pretty cool way to get back some of my money back.
Havent even tried it yet....which is why this game is so amazing....because...there is sooooo much to do...and none of it feels....stale...
Yeh...Im doing the companions quest line.... I cant get over how beautiful this game is. I hope it takes me a year to finish it....because I dont want it to end!!
I'm not sure what exactly it means but one of the reviews I watched online said the game never really ends. The quests keep coming. Latest tracking info from NewEgg -

11/14/2011 05:54:00 OUT FOR DELIVERY SPRINGFIELD, VA, US

Better be there when I get home or I'm going to throw an epic temper tantrum!
Regarding the "spoiler" some of you have been discussing - Spoiler If you turn into a werewolf, is it as hard to cure as curing vampire was in Oblivion? I hope not. As much as I enjoyed Oblivion, turning into a vampire resulted in me getting very frustrated and not finishing the game.
Here's a little warning: If you're at the spoiler part, then the solution will prevent you from what caused Monst to quit on Oblivion. It's probably a glitch in the current version. Yeah, I could have used to the spoiler tags, but it's more fun this way.
