Does anyone know if Peyton uses twitter?

I really really hope he sees this pic and comes back to win just enough games to get them out of the race.

What a buch of ungrateful mother****ers.

How rich would it be for us not to get Luck and he ends up sucking anyway.

Well the deal included Phillip Rivers too if I'm not mistaken, thats a huge trade.

Funny how when Brady went down the Pats still finished 11-5 and won the division.

If the Colts really are this bad without Manning it proves just how good Peyton really is. He's on the worse team in the league but manages to win 12 games a year with them, unbelievable.

Uh, I'm not sure anyone has done that. Ultimately it boils down to a couple harsh realities:

    1. Players aren't effective forever
    2. Sometimes players get hurt
    3. Players eventually need to be replaced
    4. Fans should be more loyal to the front of the jersey than the back (see: Cleveland Cavaliers fans on that one)

You can't stick your head in the sand and pretend Peyton Manning will be Peyton Manning ad infinitum. His replacement has to be sought out at some point. I'd rather have a potential great waiting in the wings than to pretend that the position can be fixed by retreads or later round picks with serious limitations. It's pretty fortuitous that Peyton got hurt in the deepest QB draft in the past 7-8 years.

im not selling the franchise for one player. im just not. i would certainly not allow my franchise to be held ransom like that.

if we don't end with the top pick, i'll just take the next guy. if im picking like spot 4 or 5, ill try to trade up

If we end up 6th or 7th I think I try and trade up for Barkley or wait for Tannehill (who is my 3rd QB right now anyway). Im not a big Weeden fan, never have been a fan of OSU qb's as they always seem to have great stats and never seem to amount to squat. Weeden is a guy I might look at in the late 2nd/early 3rd as system and age work severely against him imo. Admittedly I should probably watch him more but the reason I havent is because I havent been that impressed to date.

I think Tannehill will end up maybe a few spots ahead of Dalton last year. In that scenario the best way Id look at it would be to make out pick at 6 or 7 or wherever you think it will be and get the BPA and then trade up to grab Tannehill. If by draft time I think Tannehill is more likely to go where Ponder went I would look at the cost of trading up for Barkley and what we could get by dropping down a few spots and getting Tannehill. If the cost to move up is ridiculous then I drop down from say 6 to 10-14 range and take Tannehill and pick up additional picks or players. My priority is QB because I think thats by far our biggest problem but I dont do anything that would mortageg the long term health of our franchise any further. Ideally we're bad enough to land Luck or Barkley and that way we're set for the next 10-15 years.

I think you should draft the best lineman available.

If the Colts get the top pick and the Dolphins have the second pick in the draft. I would have no problem with the Dolphins trading their entire 2012 draft, along with the first pick in the 2013 draft to the Colts for the opportunity to select Luck. I just happen to think Luck is worth all these picks. With a new GM who actually knows what he is doing, perhaps the Dolphins could actually do a decent job in free agency and fill in some of the holes on the Dolphins. With Luck, it is still going to take the Dolphins a couple of years to put the pieces around him and once he is on the Dolphins, no one will miss the fact that the Dolphins only had one selection in the 2012 draft. If the Dolphins get Luck and no one else in the 2012 draft, it would still be a A+ draft rating, as far as I am concerned.

My buddies and I have joked around a little that Peyton deserves the MVP award this season, because it's pretty obviously he is the most valuable.

The Patriots didn't win the division. We did. With better QB play from Chad Pennington.

I am utterly amazed that there are still people in this specific fanbase who deny the necessity of elite QB play. Has anyone paid attention to what happened to this team after Marino retired?

Not true D... We just need a HOF coach and all-pros at every other position. Hell, we don't even need a QB then. Just run WC plays. If you can't see that, I can't help you...

Personally I think a lot of the so called Dolphin fans who don't seem to want Luck are really fans of the Jets, Patriots, or Bills. They pretend to be fans who are more satisfied with a few wins in a season then they are with the possibility of getting a franchise QB who will lead to team to many victories over the coming decade. Every true Dolphin fan I know would be happy to have Luck, even if it means the Dolphins have the worst record in the NFL this season. The only fans I see around me who want the Dolphins to not get the first pick in the draft are fans of the Jets, Patriots, Bills, or some other team because they realize that with Luck as the Dolphins QB, the Dolphins would once again become relevant in the NFL. None of the fans of these other teams want this to happen.

And if that happens I will say good luck to you all and find something else to do no sundays, which won't be difficult.

It aint over till its over. Ross will pull the laces on Irsays shoes, and deal with Wayne Weaver for the Jags to take a fall. :shifty:

When Marino left, we were still a playoff team. Hell we won our division that year. Our problem was we never got his replacement to continue as a top team. I think people are questioning how the Colts lose Peyton and become the team we see today, where the Defense stop playing to. You can't tell me if Peyton comes back then that team is a super bowl contender again, with the same players.

First of all they didnt win the division. Second of all you have to look at things in relation to what it was before. The Patriots went from being the only team to go 16-0 and were one of the biggest super bowl upsets away from being considered one of if not the greatest football team in the history of the NFL. They were historically good. They went from that to not making the playoffs the next year. Yes they won 11 games but 5 teams went to the playoffs ahead of them.

So you got a team that went from a historically elite team to a team that finished second in the division and sat during the playoffs just by losing one player. Yeah, i think that shows you how important a franchise qb is

Oh...and the team that won the division that year went from a 1-15 team to an 11-5 team by adding a qb who had an mvp type year. A qb that could even carry Sparano into the playoffs

Peyton doesn't play D or ST. I still don't buy how much that whole team is tanking. If Luck isn't in our cards, so be it. A bummer, and that's fine. But like, that team has to have more pride than that to win. Almost 10 division titles in the last 10 years, to what they are fielding now?

If Dilfer can win a ring in TB, then that frickin team should be able to string a couple of wins this year. At least when Detroit pulled a 0, they WERE trying.

I just don't see it happening. Matt Moore is garbage. He had a good day against a mediocre team. Our offensive line won't hold up. I see 1 more winnable game on our schedule, next week.

I think we go 2-14, fire everyone and pick top 3.

That sounds like a great strategy to me, Matt. I'd love to grab an impact player with our early 1st and then trade up for Tannehill. I have a feeling though he ends up going in the Ponder area like you mentioned. If that's the case, personally, I think I'd rather trade back for Tannehill than sacrifice a potential 1st round pick to move up for Barkley.
