    Link?

If Henne could have played injured it surely wasn't his decision not to play. This was a make or break year for him. Players trying to prove they have what it takes to be a starting QB don't quit. Unless they're really mentally weak. Henne wasn't a great QB but he didn't strike me as a quitter.

I could; however, see the FO making a decision to shut Henne down in the quest for Luck.

That shoulder separation was supposedly a grade three... Henne would have had an issue with taking a snap, let alone throwing a pass. Miller is an absolute moron for saying such a thing.

Not to mention, Henne got opinions from THREE different doctors.

Miller = idiot. Simple as that.

Miller is a tool, the real downfall of this team/regime is a lack of obtaining quality players. They did upgrade the talent level here, but nowhere near what they should have, particularly at the QB position. Not losing Henne would have meant perhaps winning 2-3 games this season, doubtful to me any more than that.

And that's the difference between college and the Pros. Colleges don't give a ****. They'll run you into the ground. Supposedly Henne wanted to play but the team shut him down.

Not really. Manuel wanted to play that very game and they wouldn't let him. He has healed over a 3 week span enough to play.

Question is, why are we protecting Henne if that's the case? He's in his last year with us. And there are always reports saying the players want to play. Doesn't mean they do.

I'm just saying you act as if Henne couldn't play at all and called miller idiot in result, when in fact he could of.

Difference is NFL teams have big money invested in players, colleges don't. Yes, Henne is in the last year of his contract, but they also take a huge risk by playing a guy who wasn't cleared. Then you have an OJ McDuffie situation on your hands.

Miller IS an idiot, because he gave a strong opinion about a situation he didn't have all the facts on.

Any one could... "play injured". With a more serious injury however, most players do not. If I remember correctly, there were quotes from Henne saying he wanted to play the very next week, but after a couple doctor visits he was shut down and surgery was done. Pretty ridiculous of Jim Miller to even open his mouth on the issue. I usually enjoy listening to him and some of his opinions on Sirius, but there's been quite alot of times too when some of his opinions are just ridiculous. Pretty sure he took a hardcore stand talking about how great the trade was for Seattle to give up as much as they did for Charlie Whitehurts. Sometimes he's got good input, sometimes he's just way off base and ridiculous. This story seems to be a case of the later.

Jim Miller has been saying this for over a month on Sirius NFL Radio. He has made the point that he and other quarterbacks have played through the same (non throwing shoulder) injury. Jim Miller has claimed that it was a business decision made based upon the fact that the Dolphins had so much confidence in Henne that he was playing in the last year of his contract.

I don't care one way or the other. Chad Henne is D O N E in Miami. But before you go and throw mud on Jim Miller's claim - refute it with facts. I haven't bothered to try. It's a moot point.

What I don't get is how many fans are saying Henne shown improvement this year which I did not witness. If you compare the stats to last year they are almost identicle.

There are 6 grades of shoulder separation, I believe. A grade three shoulder separation usually sidelines someone for at least three months and can require surgery. Surgery is controversial for grade three shoulder separations as some believe it's necessary and some don't. If three doctors thought Henne shouldn't play this year, I would guess it's somewhere between a grade three and four. Grade five and six are a little more rare (from my understanding) and I think they usually come from car accidents. I don't know for sure if Henne's shoulder separation is a grade three, but I do remember reading that it was somewhere.

If Manuel returned in three games, I have a hard time believing his separation is really a grade three separation. It sounds more like a grade one... grade two, at most... and I'd be iffy on that one. Not to mention... Jimbo Fisher said there was no structural damage based on the MRI that Manuel had... It just doesn't add up.

Small sample size for this season. 3 games? Not fair. You'd have to say the same if his numbers had improved also. There's usually a regression/progression to the mean but either way the sample for this season wasn't enough to determine that.

What a ****ing joke. The guy played with a dislocated knee cap last year when everyone thought he could barely walk, let alone play in the NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE. I love the people in THIS thread claiming it's probably true. wow.

Call Henne whatever you want, a bad QB, overrated, a wasted draft pick......but one thing you can't call him, is a *****, a quitter, or someone that would "pack it in", after taking a huge leadership role, trying to be our franchise qb, and playing during a contract year.

    Unreal. :pity:

Just because Manuel suffered a separated shoulder does not mean it was "the same injury".
It's not as simple as saying someone has a separated shoulder.

There are different degrees of separation.

I see Gridiron beat me to it.
He offers a great explanation as well.

From what I remember, they had to shut him down last year as well.... to the point where they hid his helmet to keep him from rushing on to the field. I don't buy "the Henne" packing it in at all.

    All this.

I don't believe Henne is a great QB.

But he IS a ****ing gutsy player, and sacrifices his body for the team.

I have no doubt he'd play through ANYTHING if they let him.

Hell, he himself said that he'd still play even they cut his other arm off.

Or how about Miller back up his own claim with a damn fact. It's not on the person refuting a poorly evidenced claim to provide evidence to it's contrary. How about we start with Miller since the burden of proof is on him. This is the same, "Well you can't prove me wrong" attitude that has people teaching god knows what in schools and politicians doing trash in power.

He did show improvement. Unless you didn't watch the games you would have seen it. If you did watch the games you're posting 4 games worth of stats to try and run away from what you saw.

    That's a funny name for a porno.

    Agreed.

This guy is making the accusation.
What facts is his assertion based on?

Furthermore, why on earth is an injured QB on a winless team his focus anyway?
Maybe he should analyze a certain Bears QB that sat out a recent playoff game?
