As fans, we deserve nothing. We hope for it, and let the cards fall where they may. Sitting here saying you watched every game since 200nwhatever does not make you worthy of SB's or else anymore than anyone else.

When someone says, we suck as a team, I demand better. What are you going to do? Jump ship?

It does not take rocket science to "SEE" where you guys are coming from. That is why I don't sit here and say you guys are bad fans, and all the other negatives.

Mr. Luck "SEEMS" to have a lot of influence on what his son might want or do. If he sees or hears how Colts, and Dolphins fans are wishing for losses so they can land his son, it might sway "HIM" into thinking Colts and Dolphins fans are terrible. Who knows?

Even if posts on message boards and blogs were representative - which they are not, as people should have realized by now - I'd have no problem whatsoever playing for a fanbase that is so in love with me that it would rather go 0-16 than have someone else play QB.

Of course that is only one side of it though. Lucks pops seems a little arrogant. He said any fan who thinks their team is losing on purpose is flat out stupid. Which it is but the way he said it, I was like, DAMN! Dudes kind of a dick.

And if I was a father -which I'm not- I would be flattered and proud in my son that a fan base would suffer through an 0-16 season in order to have my son play there

Well, they are. The Dolphins aren't losing on purpose. No NFL team is losing on purpose. That's not what Suck for Luck is about, however.

How so? You said the Oliver Luck said that fans who think that their team is losing on purpose are stupid. Well whos saying that? No SFLer in their right mind thinks the phins are losing on purpose, we think they are losing because they suck. But how is Oliver Lucks statement contrary to having pride in his son that a fan base would want him so desperately to suffer a 0-16 season? Are you saying that O. Luck doesnt take pride that his son is so wanted? Are you saying as a father that he isnt flattered that his son would be welcome here with open arms?

Are you trying to say that Oliver Luck will try to talk his son out of playing for the dolphins if we pick one because the fans want him badly enough to suffer a horrible season?

Because he doesn't want to speak for his son? If he says that Andrew will play for whatever team drafts him, at least to me, that would sound like it could be Oliver who's making the decisions. Maybe o luck doesnt want to make that impression

And also why would he? It's not his job to alleviate fans angst 7 games into a season. Anything could happen so why say something that could held over his head later. Maybe something completely unforseen occurs that changes there perspective. Something a little more relevant than fans rooting to be able to draft him. Why say something when you don't have to or have an obligation too.

    I listened to the interview.

I didn't perceive any particular threat to manipulate the draft. He just really didn't want to say anything about Andrew's future pro career. Big O even told him that by not answering he was leaving himself open to more questions, but he wouldn't budge.

The way he was saying it, was like he thought those fans on the suck for luck wagon were also stupid. That's only my opinion thats why in the comment you quoted of mine, I said "SEEMS" to be.

So no, I'm not saying he will do it at all. I'm only saying it might be possible that he sways his son away from the worst teams.

  17. Ozzy

Um, I do know that! But in reality, it is exactly what the suck for luck people would love to see. For their team to lay down to insure that first pick. Everyone of those people can jump on this and say no, thats not true but it is. For those to say I'm not rooting for them to lose but Im down with suck for luck, are trying to lie gracefully. It's ok!

However, it seems Mr. Luck was pissed at the fans somewhat because of suck for luck.

You're 100% correct. I do wish they would tank every game and lose it on purpose. I also wish that I would sleep with Scarlett johanson tonight. I'm also cognizant of the fact that neither has any chance of happening. So do I root for them to lose? Yes. Do I root for them to lose on purpose? No. Because it's not going to happen.

Well hell, while we are at it why don't we wish that the NFL just goes ahead and gaurantee each team a SB win every 32 seasons?

I can't figure out why either Luck would really give a **** what NFL fans are doing right now. I know I wouldn't. I know the media has probably pestered them but whatever happened to 'no comment'.

I think they're just trying to be modest, but its coming off weird. They're trying not to be arrogant, because saying they think Suck for Luck is cool would probably sound bad. It's really a non-story what they say about it, and the more I think about it it has to be pretty awkward.

Just for reference, according to Advanced NFL stats, we have a 0% chance of coming in first or second place in the AFC East. And we only have a 2% chance of finishing in third place. This is a big reason I'm on the Suck for Luck bandwagon.

Next week is going to be big for the Luck Bowl. Colts play the Jaguars at home...if they don't win that, it's as good as theirs.

And I'm convinced Reggie Bush is playing well because of Kim Kardashian. She must have magic ***.

No way we pick ahead of the Colts. They are so terrible. The biggest discussion left now is probably which other college QB is the best one the Dolphins could land.

I'm just going to wait til the end of the season, then we know who we are in position to get. Any other way is just setting yourself up for disappointment.

It's not really about disappointment. Anybody who has watched the NFL before should know that the season is a roller coaster. Indy plays a bunch of bad teams and could pull a few out. St. Louis may get the top pick and be willing to trade down. There are myriad possibilities. I never got into the SFL b/c I can't root for my team to lose and b/c there are several prospects in this draft with franchise potential. It always made more sense in my mind to wait until the end of the season and then try and figure things out.

Yeah if Beck keeps his grip on the starting job, I really have a hard time envisioning us losing that game. That will be the nail in the coffin. Unfortunately for us, it looks like this team is starting to play good football too little, too late.

SFL is still on. We have an outside shot of the #1 pick still. More importantly, if we continue to lose we'll pick top 3. That gives us maximum trade value to get Luck. I don't want Jones, Barkley, or any other consolation prize.

    But we're not.

And reality is we're not on the level of the really good teams in this league. We might not really be as bad as Indy, Arizona, etc., but that;s not saying much.

This season is just a microcosm of how bad our coaching is (I don;t give a crap how hard they play for tony) and how poorly we've managed our QB situation.

One of those problems can possibly be resovled this off season. As to QB...I fear our walk in the wilderness will continue for the forseeable future.

Such is life when you set yourself up for something that was highly unlikely to happen.
Rooting against the Dolphins caused nothing but anguish for the SFL'ers.
