New Uniforms: It's Time For a Change

I'm only going to say this once, Just stop!!!!

Only change that should be made is the old school uniforms.

 

I've always been a traditionalist; for years I wanted us to switch back to the original logo:


But something new might be the thing to really signal a fresh start.

 

But whatever happens make sure we never wear aqua pants with white jerseys again. Not only is it fugly, it has resulted in bad luck more often than not. Anything that was started during the Wannstedt era has to go.

Aqua-on-aqua is slick, though.

Well...

My guess...given the Nike Pro Combat will be the new NFL uniform next season....and all of the changes that will be happening to the franchise over the course of this season....

We will see changes made to our uniform. Whether they decide to go back to an old school color scheme, or something drastically different, I dunno, but I would guess there will def be changes.

I don't care for any change that features the orange color. I think the Aqua is what makes our uniform unique. And I like that color. I don't mind adding grey and/or Navy accents. I also wouldn't be all too upset with a logo change. I agree with the poster that says that our uniforms are neither new or retro. I could see the franchise capitalizing on the excitement of Luck (if it happens) and a whole new regime by adding in a new uniform as well.

 

FWIW, I'd like to see the use of navy blue as more of a primary color. It was introduced back in the late 90's IIRC when they added the drop shadow to the numbers, and in other areas within the logo and striping. Anyway, I think it would be very cool (and certainly more intimidating) if the jersey was navy blue. This could be the primary night home game jersey. It could be reversed for away games (white jerseys/blue pants). They could incorporate a navy blue stripe on the sides of the jersey (similar to what Denver and New England did) for the white jerseys. Of course, I'd still want to see them use/wear the all whites at home for day games. As for the aqua and orange jerseys, they could be worn on special occasions.

Anyway, JMHO.

 

I know everyone likes the old uniforms.....

But...I see no reason not to make a change to the look and feel of our image. I like the use of navy blue. The Bucs and Pats both made great use of new images....and I think the Phins could do so as well.

 

They should all wear skirts until they earn their way to big boy pants. Maybe the humiliation will motivate them because god know something needs to.

 

I would venture to say that you could have made the title a little different! Instead of the uniform sucks!

I remember what I meant in the 'oulde' days when we walked around on the ship saying NAVSUCKS! And it wasn't complimentary in the least!

I hate our all white uniforms we wore against the Broncos. They are boring as hell. If you are going to have teal green and orange as your colors use them.

 

These are actually very slick. I love the use of the old stadium logo as the new logo. We definitely need to get away from the cartoon "special needs" dolphin on the current helmet. It makes us look particularly stupid when the team sucks.

 

Let's see: Do uniforms make a **** when it comes to how good your team plays? Nope. Change uniforms? Yeah, that will bring us multiple Super Bowl titles!

Actually Denver has received permission to make their orange uniforms their primary ones starting next season.

 

The orange socks with the aqua stripes are badass.

 

I agree. Pretty much outdated now too.

 

I dont think we need to make drastic changes in the logo but please lets stop with the all white look it makes our players look slow and the all white shows a lack of imagination. I think we shoul have 4 sets of uniforms but add two more helmets of a different color with slighly modified logos . why cant we have navy blue pants and medium gray jerseys with black sleves but the chest and back be medium gray with aqua trim and orange numbers. orange jerseys and white pants for monday night and thanksgiving. black jersey and gray pants only for opening games all aqua with orange helmet for night games . white jersey with orange pants for day games with a aqua helmet too. for play off games wear gray jersey and aqua pants and a aqua helmet with standard logo on it.

 

Its fresh Maynard..and it still has all our original colors in there..especially with the helmet..the helmet is right on that shirt..I think it matches nicely.

OZ, just look at it again, with the logo on the front, you keep the helmet the same, the logo the same, and you put us in that rich navy blue with some grey and orange trim..I would like it, but I understand if you don't.

Make the uniforms less shiny. Make like the 70's or 80's....

 

Bring back the old logo please. Maybe add some Silver/Gray to the color scheme on the unis as an accent color and bring back the gray face mask.

I think that is outstanding. i think those should be our exact colors. no black, no navy blue. we really would look like the teams that brought glory to this franchise.

you could outline the numbers and sleeves with that grey.

 

one of the things i liked about Nick Saban was that he apparently agreed with us. i don't think we wore the green pants once in his tenure. we ended up playing almost every game in all white, a combo i happen to like. just for home games. but i agree, we should present a better away jersey

One of my favorite things about Saban was his integrity and dedication.

 

I think we should roll with the blue jerseys. Might as well have darker colors since we don't like playing in the heat anymore..

 

I've always liked the aqua-on-aqua look Miami wore for the one game against the Bears in 2002.

That said. I remember an old East Bay Sports catalog as a kid that had alternative jersey colors for all the teams before they actually had alternative jerseys. Miami's was a navy blue color, which I thought looked pretty interesting. I can't find a picture of it for the life of me, but I wouldn't mind seeing that incorporated with a throwback sort of look a la the Giants.

 

Yeah, the navy was an alternate color in the online shops a while back; last one I saw was a Zach Thomas.

We also wore the aqua/aqua when Ricky tore up the Bills for 250 yards in Buffalo.

 

I would love to see what the Nike combat uniform folks would do with the throwbacks I posted earlier.
