The Rams have and believe in Sam Bradford on a pre-rookie scale contract. They're not in the Luck sweepstakes. If they get the #1 pick, they'll sell it to the highest bidder.
I just keep thinking about how the Colts were an awful franchise in the late 70s to mid 90s. Then they got Peyton and became an Elite Powerhouse. It's not just a coincidence. If Luck lives up to everything, we'll be smiling in 2012 and beyond. Though even with Luck, I wouldn't expect more than an 8-8 year in 2012, though would be hopeful for a pleasant surprise. After all, we did go from 1-15 to 11-5 with Chad Pennington.
The current staff obviously does. If they go on a 1-15 or 0-16 run again, they'll probably clean house and you never know what a new coach/GM will do. Bradford hasn't exactly looked like the second coming of Peyton Manning.
The Football Gods had to have scripted this for the "Luck Bowl." There is no other explanation. I have NEVER seen a worse collapse EVER. Up by 15 until the 2:44 mark, give up a TD, drop (AGAIN) an onside kick, TD, 2point conversion, fumble in OT, and a 52 yard FG. Call it Divine intervention or one hell of a lot of LUCK but it was unPHRACKINbelievable.
No, but I wouldn't say he's Blaine Gabbert, either. (I have the Jags ahead of the Rams on the "likely to draft Andrew Luck" scale.)
Oh, I'm with you. I just wouldn't rule out St. Louis. The contract is obviously an issue but when you're looking at a new coach/FO (which you would if they were #1 pick bad), then massive contracts suddenly don't mean so much after all.
I don't think a new regime in STL would automatically draft Luck. There's no accounting for intelligence, and they may reason they can trade down to #4 or #5, draft Landry Jones on a cheaper deal, let Bradford's contract age and become a little more cuttable, and then axe him for Jones. I get what you're saying and I can see it happening, but they do have some wins on the schedule. Week 9: Arizona. Week 10: Cleveland. Week 11: Seattle. Week 12: Arizona again. Week 14: Seattle again. Week 17: 49ers, who may be resting their starters.
The Rams have two games against the Seahawks, two against the Cardinals, and a game against the Browns. I see them winning at least two of these games and maybe three of them. I think the Dolphins strongest competition for Luck will be the Colts. Their owner has already stated he would draft Luck if the Colts get the first pick in the draft. He is also keenly aware of how a franchise QB can come in and turn a team around very quickly because he saw Manning do it for his own organization.
I watched the post game show. Keith Sims said it was the biggest collapse he could remember. The team has not quit. I'm wondering how long that's gonna last, especially after a loss like today.
I think this might be the straw that broke the porpoise's back. We're at the Giants and at the Chiefs for the next two weeks. The Giants can demolish us and I think we'll lose another heartbreaker to the Chiefs. Though if we want to be honest, this team quit in week 17 last year.
We lost against a team that plainly didn't particularly want to win for 55 minutes tonight. I'm not even going to call a decent shot unless we play Prairie State A&M.
This team has more talent than those teams. It's not even close. They're just playing like ****, coached like ****, not trying hard. There's no comparison in talent between 07 and this one.
Chad Henne goes down for the season. We start Matt Moore, the guy responsible for getting Carolina their franchise QB. Sparano, fighting for his life, goes for a 2pt conversion and fails. Comes back to bite him in the butt. THE FOOTBALL GODS SMILE ON US. It looks like the Dolphins are on track to get Luck!
I like Sparano. He's a hard worker, he isn't nearly as clueless as people around here make him out to b,e and he seems like a genuinely good guy. Do I like his decision making in game? Heck, no. Do I think we need a fresh start? Oh, yes. But Sparano doesn't deserve the hatred and he doesn't deserve being canned as the scapegoat. Have some integrity and let him coach out the season.
Consider me a loser fan then for wanting this team to get Andrew Luck and potentially having a franchise QB for 15-18 years starting in 2012. He might not become one, but there is a GREAT chance he does. I want us to have our own Aaron Rodgers. So I must be bad for it. Standing still gets us nowhere. We are the biggest joke in the NFL right now. Do you want to stay that way in 2012?
Consider me a loser then as well. Just do all us real fans a favor, don't root for this team when we get Andrew Luck. Since you would rather root for Luck to say no the Dolphins in order to spite real fans, go root for another team when he's leading us to winning seasons and superbowls again. You don't deserve it, and neither does anyone else with a loser "I heart mediocrity" mentality. Root for whatever NFL team Henne turns into a mediocre mess next year. Root for whatever NAIA college team Sparano is coaching the O-Line for next year. You deserve it. And you have deserved every disappointment the Dolphins had served you on a silver platter since Marino retired. And you don't deserve to watch this team, with a real QB, become a respectable franchise again.
Couldn't have said it better myself. I can't wait for all the "real fans" to change their tunes when Andrew Luck is leading up to Super Bowls.
I'm not a fake fan like some. I've already said that I'd support Luck if we got him, but I'm not going to root and cheer when this team loses. Maybe these SFLers should stay away when we do start winning again, since they wont support the Miami Dolphins when "WE" are down. Part-timers!!!
Wasn't it you who said that he wished Luck said no to playing for the Dolphins? That's being a real fan.....
I'm sure all kinds of people are cheering about this team being a complete joke this season.... that's what everybody wanted to happen. I can remember all of the threads on September 11th anxiously anticipating the kickoff to a terrible season.
We could all only hope to achieve the level of fandom that the self proclaimed superfans of this site have reached.
And being happy if Luck says no to our favorite team makes you better fan than me? Whatever, no point debating this with you if you truly believe that.
I laugh every time at the sentiment that people are spending their personal time on an internet message board but yet aren't 'fans' of a team. I mean that makes sense.
And decent people don't go around thinking and claiming that they're better than other people. If your attitude was indeed implicit to being a "real fan", then I really don't want to be a "real fan". I'd hate to act and talk like a dick all the time.
You got to at least admit the dolphin fans cheering in the stadium after Denver won in overtime was ****ing hilarious that honestly says everything you need to know about this season. Also throw in the whole dolphins making this a gator day in canes stadium and Dj Williams canes LB causes and recovers the game winning fumble its just to much honestly you couldn't script this ****.
