Any Games Left We Can Win? I did not see Immokalee High School on the schedule? I've been a fan since the very beginning, when I was 15 years old. I finally turned off the game last night when the team did not even care enough to try for something with 1:14 left in the half and the ball near midfield. They gave up last night - as a team - from the Head Coach on down. The infection of ineptitude with which Sparano has diseased this team is finally reached the point that no one seems to care about anything more than just getting through this season, hopefully without injury. Maybe they might have a job somewhere next year. For some, their most exciting subsequent occupation might be asking someone if they want fries with their burger. For others, there might actually be a football future somewhere. For a very few, they might have the talent to hang on with a new regime, which at this point, the Dolphins desperately need. I mean. I see two keepers on the O-Line, two receivers, one running back, and no one at QB unless Sage happens to astound and amaze at some point. The Defense has just plain disappeared. Absolutely ZERO Defensive line rush, only one LB even looking as if he has any idea what to do, and the D backfield in a shamble of egos, missed routes, dropped coverages (and interceptions,) and cramps at this point in the year. Angels and saints preserve us!
I was looking at the standings, and I cannot see this Dolphins team winning more than 2 games at most. I was looking at the teams we're in contention with for the first overall pick and really, there is only two teams that may take Luck before we get a chance(assuming we don't pick first.) It is Indy or Denver. Jacksonville won't, they just took Gabbert. St. Louis won't, they just took Bradford. Carolina won't, they just got Newton. Minnesota won't, they have Ponder. Arizona won't, they just gave a huge deal and gave up a lot for Kolb. That game against Denver against Sunday is a crucial loss for our team.
Have to agree, I honestly don't see even one win left and our only rival is the Colts for 0-16. Which brings up the tie breaker ..... strength of schedule. Who wins that, us or the Colts?
I still think we can secure 1 win (thats what I want regardless, haha) finish 1-15 and still get #1 overall pick. I think our best chance is vs. DEN. If not them, maybe KC, and last outside shot is WAS.
I really only see 2 possibilities. Maybe 3. Denver and Washington are winnable. I think we split those. The 3rd possibility is KC, but I doubt we can go into Arrowhead and win. 1-15.
Washington, perhaps. Also, don't sleep on the Giants. They're notorious for losing games at home to inferior opponents (see the Seahawks a few weeks ago).
They're also notorious for playing above their talent level. All things being equal, they'll stomp us.
I dunno anymore winning any of them, bar the KC one. Take this week's game. We host the Broncos. Quite possibly 2 of the worst teams in the league. It's gonna be a painful trainwreck to watch. Think I gonna call it Toilet Bowl 2011.
I honestly see them winning one or two games from here on out. Maybe they'll beat a team they should beat (Kansas City or Denver) and beat a team that they probably shouldn't beat (Dallas or Buffalo). We tend to beat ourselves most of the time so I highly doubt we win more than 3 games at most.
It is going to hurt my eyes, but I have to tune in. I want to shake my head at all the Tebow jerseys I see in our house. I just have a bad feeling about the game, I honestly think he is going to go ape **** on us.
If we beat Denver and end up tied with them at the end of the season, they would pick ahead of us....
Only if SoS % is lower....has nothing to do with H2H! If we both end up say 1-15....and we have a .491 % and they have a .492% we pick first in the first round...we would rotate in rounds 2-7, but 1st round is based on SoS % only, again H2H isnt a tie-breaker for draft.
Well, 2 things really impact whether we win or not: -Daniel Thomas, can he carry the load and maybe show more explosiveness? -Does Brandon Marshall make the plays he should make, not the spectacular, but the simple, like catching TD passes. Those two things happen the offense can score Td's and we can win, especially if the D continues to improve If not, this will be a looonngg yr, and I'll probably not bother trying to find streams of the games and just listen in on radio.
I would add generating some turnovers to the list. I've been saying for years that passing more efficiently than your opponents and winning the turnover battle are the keys to winning. It's a formula that hasn't changed in something like 60 years. People get distracted with various other stats, but these are the ones that have consistently mattered the most when it comes to winning. As for our final outlook, my guess is that we get one or two wins. I see the Denver game and then some random game that on paper we shouldn't win as the most likely ones. I think KC's passing offense is rounding into form so I don't put that as a one of those we are likely to win.
Man, ya know. I kinda along these lines. The game where we may win, where we shouldn't, is the one that may screw us for a shot at Luck. As I look ahead at the whole sked, that Dec 24 game vs the Pats is where I would lay my cash. By then, I can almost see the Pats resting starters for the playoffs. Makes me sick to say, but I'd see the Pats rollin in at # 1 or 2 in the Conf. If # 1 is almost assuredly a lock for them by then, then yeah, this a game we'd have no biz winning.
Tebow will throw 3 interceptions... next game after the Dolphins. No one on defense can't catch a cold in Alaska barefoot.
Possibly, but since I live in the area they're my second favorite team and personally I think they have more talent than you might suspect. They also do have a major tendency to play down to their competition.
I would be surprised to see us win this week. I'd also be surprised if we didn't win 2-3 games that we have no business winning.
I can't wait to watch this game, the dynamic inside that stadium, and to see how our players respond to it??...priceless..
If we win a game at this point, I'll be even less interested in this team. Sucks to say, but it's true. Only thing to 'root' for is winning the SFL sweepstakes. If we are on track for 3-13 I'll be even more checked out. Hell, I didn't even watch that Chargers or Jets games. I didn't miss a game for ten years. NOt a single one. Not even during the 1-15 season. But, I can't do it anymore. It used to be too painful to endure watching us lose, but now I just feel like I deserve better than to waste my time watching guys I don't believe in. I basically love the logo, and love the past history, but not what we have going on today. I apologize to the faithful fans who do still have the heart to root for wins. To me, it's already about next year, since I've lost 100% of the faith I had in our coach, GM and QB.
I hear you man, it's called apathy and I'm right there with you. But don't let the frustration consume you b/c this era will soon pass. And btw, no need to apologize to ANYone. You know what type of fan you are and that's all that matters.
I'm not sure there is going to be anything special to look for. Whatever would be interesting to see will happen during halftime, and I'm not sure they'll be televising it.
It's amazing how Green Bay has flourished with a QB that was selected 24th and not 1st. It's a miracle. And Brees went in the second round. What round was Brady drafted in?
The point is that if for some reason you don't pick first, don't go hanging yourselves. -Ed- sent from my EVO 3D
