I have not been impressed with Gates since the Dolphins drafted him. In fact I would gladly take Ginn over Gates and I couldn't stand Ginn when he was with the Dolphins. Ginn at least was a threat on kick returns. Gates is terrible as a kick returner and even worse as a receiver. He will just turn out to be another wasted pick by Ireland, who is one of the worse GM's in the NFL.

The Dolphins need to trade Wake and Marshall and get what they can for these players, right now. Wake is being overpowered every week and he doesn't have the explosion off the edge he had last year. He is 30 years old and he seems to be on the decline. Marshall is no longer the pro bowl receiver he was in Denver. He leads the league in drops and he does not appear willing to fight for the ball on passes in the end zone. The Dolphins should put both Wake and Marshall on the trading block and get what they can for both these players. I keep reading comments about all the talent on the Dolphins. I just don't see this talent on the field. The Jets are nothing but an average team at this point in the 2011 season. Yet the Dolphins are going to lose this game by double digits to this very average team . The fact is that the Dolphins are 0-5 because they are one of the least talented teams in the entire NFL. They are poorly coached and Ireland had done an absolutely terrible job of upgrading the talent on the team during his four years on the job. Whoever comes in next year as the new GM is going to have his work cut out for him. He is going to have to replace at least 90% of this roster over the next two to three years in an effort to upgrade the talent on the roster. The Dolphins can now officially be considered one of the worst teams and organizations in the NFL.
Not happy merely ruining my football season the Dolphins made sure to screw my fantasy football season as well. I lost 102-98 and missed what would have been a huge upset of the top team in the league right now b/c he had the Jets D.
It has, this is a very different roster from 07-08, the talent level has been upped the real issue is..they have no heart. When Shula took over in 70, the pieces were here, they just needed a..re-orientation..which is where we are..in that sense you were "right"..now we need a different maestro. Agree on Sparano. Some pieces are there but man we are overrated trash right now. I had us ticketed for a playoff spot and man I dont know what I was thinking but clearly thats not happening. Hopefully Cowher/Gruden/whoever becomes the next Shula LOL, with our Luck, Luck returns to Stanford for his senior year just like his idol Peyton Manning. I started the game cursing and getting angry at the poor play. By the middle of the second half I felt nothing, because I had finally accepted that poor play, for whatever reasons, was all I could reasonably expect.

And why do you think that is? When the players have no faith in their coaches to make the right decisions, and its a proven fact they dont know what the hell they're doing, then of course there's going to be many player issues when they're on the field. Unless you have a very experienced team thats been together for a long time with many highly skilled guys then they need guidance from their coaches,especially the head man who is the dumbest head coach I've ever seen and I've been watching football since 1970. He has to instill confidence in them first and foremost, then they can start to feel comfortable and start making plays. Without that young players are going to screw up until someone comes in and shows them the right way to do things and proves to them he is on the right track and they should be listening to him. He doesn't have a clue and everybody knows it. they're all on different pages during a play because nobody believes in him and they tune him out. Thats why there is so much chaos every game. What you said about a lack of talent is true but that is because of the coaches and scouts pathetic evaluation of players. The only thing they've done right is let Pennington run the team their first year. Since then they've failed miserably in every aspect of putting a team together.
That's is the type of dedication needed if you want Luck..... This game scares me coming up, I wanna see more miss tackles, and sure thing interceptions.....
