Considering that I have friends who described law school as "hell on earth" I think he made the right choice.
Word out of Baylor is that he will declare, especially as he loses his best target at WR. His accuracy is unerring. His pocket presence is excellent but he needs work with his feet and his set up. But man alive he drops it in PERFECTLY.

The guy has more TD passes (18) than incompletions (17) on the year. If we couldn't get Luck, then I wouldn't mind seeing Jon Gruden take Robert Griffin III and build a spread offense around him.

I'm not going to start up a campaign yet where I'm fully telling people to stop being so high on Robert Griffin III...I'll just have to wait for the season to wear on. But there are things I don't like...still. Man does he throw the ball accurately though.
I'm not writing any books yet on the guy, or any concluding paragraphs, but I'll just spitball things that bothered me watching the TCU game. 1. Ultimately, his receivers, especially Kendall Wright, had a better day running routes, creating separation, and making great catches than he did throwing the ball, IMO. 2. He's not an impressive runner, not really. He won't be an impressive runner in the NFL because of his size. He doesn't have Mike Vick's agility or explosiveness, nor does he have even close to Cam Newton's size or strength. 3. That still feels like a really odd, non-versatile delivery...and I wonder how it'll work in pocket passing situations with an NFL rush. It's a slow delivery, IMO...not sudden at all. He's more of a miniature Colin Kaepernick than a miniature Cam Newton. 4. What's with the self-destruction in the 4th Quarter? I haven't seen the K-State game yet but I know it ended with him kind of blowing it at the end even though he did awesome for most of the game. He did the same in the TCU game but circumstances favored him more and they hung on. TCU stopped offering so much man coverage, and suddenly a guy who couldn't throw an incomplete pass for three quarters, couldn't throw a complete pass in the fourth. He started short-arming passes, fumbled the ball in a critical situation, threw the ball right into coverage to where he's lucky it wasn't intercepted. What Baylor did to get through his ill-timed cold streak, was a combination of running the ball effectively, throwing an easy screen pass that Kendall Wright did way more damage on than he should have, and a trick play where he got to catch the ball over the middle and be more athlete than quarterback. Otherwise, the guy helped TCU overcome a 47-23 lead and get ahead 48-47. 5. I think it goes without saying that the criticisms that applied to Cam Newton's offense apply to RG3's offense. Everything is play-action and dictated before the snap. In this particular game, in situations where he had to read the middle of the field after the snap, he got into some trouble with pressure and not finding a man, etc. Most of those big TDs were play-action passes where they read the man coverage and just had their WRs flat out beat the CB straight up. RG3 didn't even necessarily lay the ball out there for the WR to run under every time. Several of those catches the WR and CB both slowed down considerably looking for the ball in the air and waiting for it to arrive, but the CBs were just absolutely horrid at playing the ball in the air. 6. I can't emphasize enough how much the size combined with the playing style would worry me. During this game he's taking shots left and right, which might be responsible for his 4th quarter slide, and those shots were hurting the man. The fumble was one of those things where you imagine a bigger guy wouldn't have coughed it up. How are you going to run around like this when you're not much bigger than Pat White? Unless you're Mike Vick, and you have feet and instincts that would make Pro Bowl running backs jealous. It's just that every time you turn around he's taking a hit that he's slow to get up from. Bigger guys don't take those hits. Pocket guys don't take those hits. I don't know. We'll see on RG3. Reminds me of some of the early season tape I watched of Cam Newton, against I think maybe Arkansas State or someone like that. Except Cam was so inexperienced, a fast ascendance was always possible, and that's exactly what happened. Am I going to see that in RG3 as the year goes on? I don't know. He's a 3rd year starter at Baylor. It's possible. But right now I wouldn't say that Cam Newton shows how good a player like RG3 could be in the NFL, I would say that RG3 shows how close Cam Newton cuts to not having been a valid NFL player. Newton throws this beautiful pass and has a cannon arm. RG3 doesn't throw the same quality ball and he's a midget compared with Cam. Like I said the guy I watched was more of a mini-Kaepernick than a mini-Newton.
I haven't watched RGIII play this year, but what CK is saying here pretty much corresponds with my recollections of him from last season. Although people are praising his accuracy quite a bit more than his play last year would have warranted. He had decent accuracy last year but nothing spectacular. His numbers seemed to be helped by a system that threw a ton of hitches or WR screens. But like I said I haven't watched him this year so he may have developed.
There are some really decent QBs out there to be had in this years draft. Here is hoping someone in the Phins front office sees this and acts accordingly
I have a few question marks about him as well. His size isn't one however. I don't think his size will hurt him in the NFL. However.... His delivery and arm strength. I group this together for a reason. Sometimes when Griffin throws deep, he has a 'load up' in his delivery and pushes the field down the field. Albeit accurate as can be, this is the delivery CK is right on when he says its slow, and a lot of his deep balls don't have that really tight spiral like a Cam Newton. Some of his other throws he has a nice quick over the top delivery with a nice spiral. Which leads me to believe two things, one: His delivery probably could be easily corrected. Two: He may not have the arm strength that everyone believes. His feel for the pocket and footwork. When things break down in the pocket, he doesnt have a great feel to slide within the pocket and make throws. He tends to take off and run. Although he does always look to throw downfield and not just take off in run. His foot work is something that I think could be corrected and may just be part of the offense he runs. He doesn't always have a great base with in the pocket.
Wow. I see several of you don't think his size is an issue. I think it might be the biggest issue. You can't have a QB that's getting dominated back there.

Would it be that hard to believe that Griffin can bulk up another 10lbs, lose a little speed, and become more of a pocket passer than can run, a faster Aaron Rodgers than a Mike-Vick Lite? I can't see that being a problem.
Weight-wise or playing style? The second I can see, the first not really. Brees was pretty light coming into the league.
All I know is that the dude is extremely smart. I have a friend that goes to Baylor and is actually friends with Griffin. He told me Griffin is one of the smartest kids you will ever meet. He got his degree in three years and was about to go to Law School as well. Apparently he doesn't drink or party that much, all he does is study game film and creep on girls.

Tannehill just seems to be getting better and better. Hard not think he's got more upside than even a guy like Landry Jones.
I would love to have RGIII. An athletic QB would be nice to see considering the type of Quaterbacks we've had over the last few seasons.

RG3 is most def a challenger for our future..needs to be looked at very closely, cause if we don't get Luck, we need the guy with the most upside, and he sure has that skillset.
