Not arguing the merits of it.........just sharing something that made me laugh out loud One jets fan posted this question on one of their forums to which another jets fan replied
Have to laugh a bit though, they expect the Jest to win, honestly can anyone see a "suck for luck" thread flying very high on a Jest forum? For me, i'm curious to see Matt Moore start for us, granted I'm in the minority on it, but I think his game matches what our Wr corps does well.
Hahaha. Well, right now Sanchez has a lower QB Rating than Tavaris Jackson. If we beat them (unlikely, though possible), they will be in the Luck Bowl with us!
It's definitely possible. We can stay in the Luck bowl with a couple of Jets victories. I'm all for it.
I said it somewhere on here before the season started, that if the Jets don't sign Edwards, and sign Plax, they are going 9-7, or even 8-8.....say what you want about Edwards, but the guy demanded a hard cover on him at all times, took doubles away from Holmes.......I have literally seen games this year where they are sticking the 3rd CB on Plax, the guy sucks flat out..... In turn this is going to make Sanchez's job more difficult, has to make better decisions with the ball which IMO isnt something he cant do...
They're joking about it now, but you'll see the nervous laughter turn to outright fear if we finish bad enough to get Luck.
Not much more. Look at Indy, perennial contender if Peyton plays. Without him, they are as winless as us.
wait wait wait.. its not the problem that peyton isnt playing, the problem is kerry collins is playing.. lol.. cough sparono cough. i hope dear God that you get rid of him.
The defense needs to be tweaked, the core of it is fine. They actually haven't played that poorly since the first game of the season. They're currently ranked 24th in overall D, and that's with that abortion of an opening game against the Pats. The Pats, meanwhile, are dead last in Total Defense. So, make of that what you will.
This....all you need in football these days is a good QB, and an opportunistic defense....the game is different and I don't like it very much...it is streetball now...unfortunately the ground and pound 17-10 games are something of the past...
Actually, the phins are ranked 28th in defense. O-line is ranked 26th, rushing and receiving are 15 each (decent) the most important stat is NE is 4-1 and you're 0-4. I would hate (or love from a pats fan standpoint) for you guys to drop your nut on Luck and not focus anywhere else. I know Luck is good, but don't end up like the Colts.
And thats because of Tom Brady. I don't see how you are missing that point. Your D is bad and yet you are still 4-1. Again...TOM BRADY.
Wes Welker, Rob Gronkowski, Aaron Hernadez, Ben Jarvis Green Ellis, entire offensive line. rushing is 6th , OLine is 8th There is a little more depth than Brady. and i never said the D didn't suck.
The rushing is due to the line and brady as well. I dont think any of your running backs are anything special and you can insert pretty much any RB into that offense and have success with everyone fearing the pass and the line being good.
I agree with you. I just don't think the offense would fall apart without Brady quite like Indy has. maybe i'm wrong maybe i'm right who knows but we still went 11-5 with Cassell. Everything you just mentioned is the sign of an offense that is clicking well together and that's what matters.
Re: Pats Defense being 28th. They've given up the most yards from scrimmage in the NFL. Last Sunday against the Jets was the first game they gave up fewer than 450 total yards. Think about that for a second...5 games, only ONE HAD THEY GIVEN LESS THAN 450 YARDS! And they broke that string against the Jets. Toughy. But, you're wrong. With that defense the Pats win maybe 3 games. I'm being generous because I think Ryan Mallett would win a few. The defense was actually pretty solid the year Brady got hurt (8th in the NFL in points allowed). Also, Cassel is no slouch. The guy's put up pretty solid numbers in KC. Also, having Randy Moss didn't hurt.
How come its only the Pats big guys that make plays I find amusing? I dont know if I have seen a funnier play than Connolly's KR last year. And now Wilfork with the picks?
