  1. I voted yes but not because Im in love with Orton but because I think it was irresponsible to go into this season without a viable back/up on our bench. Ireland should be fired for that decission alone IMHO.

Sorry Pads, but I did not use any of Pennys numbers for the Offensive Production... Games were from Buffalo til Pitsburgh...

and of course it's Hennes fault for all of BM drops... including those last year...

You recalculated the #2 finish in the RZ based on subtracting Penny's production over 2.5 games?

    And Thiggy's from week #17?

As for the drops, it is hard to tell, I do think Orton or Moore throws specific routes better then Henne did, especially the flat route at the goal line, but Henne's arm and toughness neither of them have it.

  5. (After reading the rest of your oppinions)

It does not matter what you think of Henne. If he was better then whoever they brought into camp he would win the start if not he would see the bench. Going into the season with 1 QB that was competent enough to start is a bad idea. This screw up belongs to the GM. He has final say on the roster.

Back when this Orton thing was a hot debate I said my first choice would be Young. Yeah I took a flaming for that but Young came with no draft picks and he adds a mobility that niether Orton or Henne offers. All around he would of best option. Take him off our radar and Orton for the right price was our next option. Going into this season with only 2 QBs should of never been an option. Tjhey shoiuld of resigned Thigpen before doing this.

I'm getting real tired of rooting for this team. I do not think we have had a decent front office since Roby owned the team. I will give Ross more time then some of you seem willing to give him before I start openly booing him but his time is running out. I would have no problem with him tanking this season if he did it by firing both Ireland and Sporano right on the spot and maybe naming Nolan as our interim coach while we openly conducted interviews. They both need to go. Ireland is a mediocre GM at best and Tony flat out just sucks as a HC. Its time for another change, AGAIN!

The best thing about this week is that the Dolphins wont be able to break my heart like they do every other week. You wanna call me a bad fan, go ahead but I am over it.

  6. RZ stats do not mean much when the only time they see the red zone is when the game is already out of reach. It made our Defense look better on paper then it was last year too. Now that we saw our offense putting points up the defense got challanged and when offenses do not play them soft they fold like a cheap suit.

It would have been irresponsible for our G.M. to damage our chances to get a QB in what is looking like the best QB draft class in three decades to add a guy who was not a franchise QB. If they had brought in Orton, it would have over shadowed any ability Ireland has to evaluate talent at other positions. I would have definitely been looking for him to be replaced since it would show no foresight or ability to evaluate a QB. It would have been impatient and desperate. Basically, he would have been acting like a fan.

  8. You think starting the season with 2 qbs on our rooster was good GMing?

Know Pads, but if you are saying that any of those TDs (stats) I posted were contributed to Penny or Higgy, you are mistaken...

The # 2 ranking is for the year... Penny added 6 more trips to the RZ, and turned them into 1 WC TD, 1 Rushing TD, 1 Passing TD, and 1 FG (3 for 6 trips to the RZ)...

and Thigy, well he added 1 for 1 in his quarter and a half of work (not one game, as you stated)...

If you look at the stats on that website, you will see that Miami with Henne in 2009 had a 50% completion in RZ scoring in the last 3 games on avg. If you look at the numbers of Penny and Thiggy combine you would still see a scoring % of around 60%, so if you look at the total Henne Season games(13 or 81% of the Season), if you don't give Henne the credit for the RZ production, you have your mind made up and will not see the forest from the trees...

Pads, if the credit does not go to Henne, the WC, Penny, nor Thiggy, who does it belong to then??? Henning???

Don't really know what you mean when game is out of reach??? How many points and at what point in the game???

The Fins were really out of one score at the end of the first half only three times in 2009 (behind 0-10 against Atlanta, behind 6-17 against Tenn, and 3-27 against Houston)...

They had a lead in 5 games at end end of the first half...
They were tied 3 times at the end of the first half...
They were behind by no more than 7 in 5 games at the end of the first half...

So in retrospect, they were in still in the game at the end of the half of 13 games...

So you are saying that the RZ stats for the whole season were piled up on 3 games???

    Dj how do you know???

Are they going to be throwing less or is Moore going to target more those WR's that don't show a problem catching the balls Henne throws...

If Henne's worst pass in the EZ is the fade, why does the OC calls for those type of patterns in the EZ??? Why does he not plan the scheme to the strentgh of his QB and instead tries to put a square plug into a round whole???

Actually, it's fairly common. I believe about 13 teams started the year doing exactly that. I think it was a better idea to do that than expend resources to bring in more mediocre talent that you might not ever use. I saw this season as either Henne would play well enough or there was nothing out there that would have made a difference. No matter what, we needed to bring in a franchise potential guy in this next draft. If Henne played poorly, then we're right there for one of the top QBs. If Henne played well, then we better have as many resources (draft picks and salary cap space) to move up if necessary. A good G.M. would be prepared for either contingency.

The Dolphins weren't going to win many games this season, with or without Orton. He was asking for a long term contract with a lot of guaranteed money. It would have also cost the Dolphins at least a second round pick. So I am quite happy that the Dolphins did not make the deal for Orton. I happen to think he is better than Henne, but I don't think he is a franchise QB. Hopefully the Dolphins will be able to select their franchise QB in the first round of the 2012 draft and by not trading for Orton, the Dolphins will still have their second round pick, which they desperately need.

Matt Moore is just a back up........ a decent one

And you shouldn't be amazed because Chad Henne is all this coaching staff and FO deserved...............to sink or swim with him. Giving these guys future resources to squander would have been criminal

Remember when people cried about not getting Orton?

Lack of football knowledge was on full display. He is HORRIBLE. Henne is better than him with one arm!

    He got benched for Tebow!!

    You know who you were.

They're both mediocre QB's. I don't think many were crying. I'd rather have Henne of the two, but I wouldn't want either one!

Yes, thank God we did not trade for Orton, and stuck with Henne. What a win that was!
