http://www.kypost.com/dpps/sports/f...rested-in-carson-palmer_6773368#ixzz1ZBhXu9gl (FOX19) - Several media outlets are reporting that the Miami Dolphins are interested in former Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer. Rich Smith of AllSportsIntel tweeted Tuesday, "Just received a call that the Miami Dolphins are talking to the Cincinnati Bengals about QB Carson Palmer." Palmer said earlier this year that he wanted to be traded, or he would retire. The Bengals did not trade him and he retired. The Bengals drafted quarterback Andy Dalton in the 2011 NFL Draft. The struggling Chad Henne is currently starting for the Dolphins. Palmer's name has also been connected to the winless Indianapolis Colts, since Peyton Manning is hurt and could be out for the season. However, it's unlikely that Indianapolis would trade a first or second round draft pick to get him. LINK 1 : http://www.fox19.com/story/15558880/report-dolphins-interested-in-carson-palmer
For once Chad Henne isnt the issue. So ofcourse it would make sense to these guys to trade for a good QB whos best years are likely behind him. Very Phins like move. And let me guess, it would be for a SECOND RD pick.
The same regurgitated story has been kicking around blogging circles since the offseason. There is no substance to it and it has been denied by Bengal sources.
Any QB is pretty much gonna be a tackling dummy this season the way the OL is playing. Hell, even Jake is not playing well. Why trade a high pick for a QB who will be hit all the time?
Jesus H Christ on a bike, who the bloody hell is Rich Smith of AllSportsIntel ????? For gawd sake you could just as soon talk to the bartender down at Kelsey's Bar.
I hope to hell there's no truth to this. If Ross lets this regime piss away next year's picks on a desperation move to get Carson Palmer I'll be on suicide watch.
Paul Brown will never give Palmer his wish to be traded. The man has never given into a player and never will. Second, Palmers best days are behind him. If Miami takes on Palmers silly stupid contract then they all should be fired and the NFL should take the team away from Ross. No trade is happening as long as Paul Brown is breathing.
Because it is tradition for the Dolphins to trade away 2nd round picks for QBs and since it has been two years since the Fins have had a 2nd round pick the FO is chomping at the bits to get rid of it.
1- old report resurfacing 2- "struggling" is overstating it 3- beginning to worry Ireland will make a move just to save his own job, and we'll be stuck with the consequences long after he's gone
I'd be much happier with a good #2 RB. If Miami wins this week, chances are they won't win the Luck race. I'd give Indy a call and ask how much they want for Joseph Addai.
Joe Addai? Meh... When's the last time that guy had 100 yards rushing? I know he's coming off a decent game against Steelers but still.
what's going around: 1) palmer becomes a dolhin 2) gruden become head coach 3) ross sells the franchise to Orlando you just never know, something seriously big has to be in the making. obviously, something has to happen. can't continue down this road much longer. the franchise has become the joke of the NFL & a real heart-breaker for its fans.
I was all for bringing Palmer in during the off season if a trade were possible - just to give Henne some competition and for a possible upgrade. But at this point, with Palmer having not practiced, played, and probably not in the best of shape, it would be foolish to give up draft picks for him unless it's a 6th or 7th. But I don't see Palmer, at the point, as an upgrade. Henne is not our problem right now. It's a plethora of other ****.
They're citing the same source that was cited before. It's the same report. It just means more people are naively listening to it. I believe this is the guy that also reported way late in the preseason that the Kyle Orton talks had re-ignited and a trade was pending, something to that effect.
Hey, not to go off topic, but I just read that the Orton trade talks are heating up again and that a trade might be pending...
Wow, that makes two sources now say that the Orton trade talks are heating up again and that a trade might be pending! This one has legs!
Holy cow, now there have been three mentions of the Kyle Orton talks heating up again, with a trade pending. The buzz on this is growing by the minute!
Now I am worried. This team has a dozen problems less important than Henne. Let's trade for a FS or an OL or a pass rushing OLB... Orton, now ?? geez...I will have to move my allegiance to the Panthers or Gmen or something...The entire organization would lose all credibility with me if they acquire Orton now. I mean, he was mediocre at best before this season and has proven that so far this season...
forget about bringing in any QB in at this time especially not Carson Palmer. We should have gone after Kyle Orton in the off season. He and Brandon Marshall had great chemistry in 09. He caught 21 balls in 1 game.
