Picture a fanbase, angry, desperate, searching for an answer-ANY answer, that will soothe their fears. Add in a little mob mentality, a little cliff jumping and you have the perfect ingredient for a fanbase in...

I'd be more interested in Yeremiah Bell being a player coach before having Pennington come in to be a HC. I'd be more interested in Pennington playing CB or RG before being a HC. None of those are actual options I want by the way.

Chad Pennington doesn't know this team or offense. A few of us would be about as qualified as Pennington in that scenario ( us not including me).

God bless you for stirring things up a bit, 23rd.

The Dolphins are boring, but this is a thread I'll remember.

If Sparano is fired and Nolan is made interm HC. I could see Penny as QB coach. People forget Penny was always the most prepared QB in the league. He called his own offensive meetings especially with the WR's in addition to the meetings the coaching staff would call.

In a couple of years as HC sure but not right now.

I could see him as a QB coach for us. That's about it.

He couldn;t possibly better than Karl Dorrell, who was bad at UCLA, did nothing with our WRs, and now is coaching our QBs despite no experience coaching QBs.

    Karl is the king.

Well, I wouldn't outright give him the job, but I would be keeping close tabs on him as we speak just in case he wants to get into coaching, I would offer him a position in a heart beat..

I am not in favor of Pennington being HC, but I wouldn't look for any miracles no matter who we hire.
We thought JJ was a solve all solution to all of our problems. He did have some initial success and built a pretty good defense, but eventually we were left with frustration and heartache as he abandoned ship. Then there was Wannstedt for whom we had some hope and that resulted in some wins but the cupboard ran dry and we were left with frustration and heartache and not much else.
We then had the biggest name available dangled in front of us in a HC in Saban, maybe not for all but for most fans. The results there were a bizarre chapter in the history of the Dolphins, more frustration and heartache as he jumped ship and left town in the night.
Now we come to Cam Cameron one of the best names available, a real football mind and a successful OC. He takes over as HC and things don't seem to improve, but remain in a turmoil, Cameron is fired when the football genius in the form of Bill Parcells takes over and immediately observes there is no talent on the team.
Now we have the operation being directed by a man who is known as a franchise builder with total control. We were elated that we had stolen him out from the grasp of the Atlanta Falcons. The future seems to be bright because we go from a record of 1-15 to a first year record under Parcells of 11-5 after he brings in his own HC in Tony Sparano and his GM in Jeff Ireland. Now we are two years later and after two 7-9 records we suddenly realize that maybe things are not as bright as we thought. This thought is emphasized by the departure of the architect Bill Parcells who maybe realizes something is not right and he may get blame instead of credit for the situation.
Now we fast forward to the 4th year of Parcells plan, Parcells is gone and the Dolphins are 0-2 at home with a new owner who has embarrassed himself and the team by courting a new coach before the old one is even gone and then giving the old coach an extension. This is some weird and bizarre stuff that could be labeled as the twilight zone. This is why I wont get excited over a new coach no matter if it is Gruden, Bill Cowher or anyone else until I acually see the improvement.
