Are you sure? I thought they cheered when Anderson went down because the entire city was having wet dreams over Brady Quinn.

Which is why I was pissed when people were cheering Brady's injury a few years back.

Too bad he wasn't 70 of 148 in last yrs finals. Maybe we would be better off getting nowitzki or terry to give a motivational speech

I think it's great that this thread was created so early. It's therapeutic. And to see it turning into a Lebron James debate is bloody fantastic.

I seem to recall a playoff game were the Browns jumped on the Dolphins and led maybe 22-3 at half time, and we came back and won the game.

Mid 80's or so it seemed like, could have been the yr Byner and Mack both went for 1k yds?

I predicted before the season that the Dolphins would only win a maximum of six games this season. This game against the Browns is one of the games I had in the win column. I still feel the Dolphins should beat the Browns and if they don't, Ross should fire Sparano in the locker room, right after the game.

I hate to keep putting money on a bad bet but I think the Dolphins win this week.

The response we're seeing/hearing from the coach, veterans...that's the response I expected to see after losing to the Patriots in Week 1. I should have known it would take two losses for them to wake up and get pissed enough to knuckle down and win one. It has in three out of Sparano's four years here.

Either way, they'll travel out to San Diego and find that the Chargers are just too much team for them, IMO. Still gonna come down to that Week 6 game off the bye week, against the Jets in the New Meadowlands, on Monday Night Football. They'll pour their heart into that game. If they come up short, which I think they will, especially if the Jets lose to the Patriots in Week 5, the season goes in the tank. We're talking Suck for Luck territory.

Of course, it could be worse. Boomer thinks we're 0-5 to that point with Tony Sparano being fired after the Jets beat us.

good analysis. I think this is as close to a must win as you can get for a non-division week 3 game.

This defense is going to have to SOMEHOW create a DAMN turnover. It is maddening how they just CAN'T.

I can't even call this one. With a normal team in a normal year, I'd pick us to win easily. But this is not a normal team and we haven't had a normal year in awhile.

Just based on talent we should win going away, but we rarely play up to the level of talent on the team. I expect we'll play down to the Browns level and the game will be close in the last five minutes. Could go either way

So, you're not denying that the predicament the Dolphins presently find themselves in is due in part to LeBron James...

If we do end up losing this game, we can realistically talk about Andrew Luck, imo.

Any thought to perhaps shifting the defensive front to a 4-3 hybrid base defense rather than a 3-4 base defense? Perhaps we can shift Dansby to a protected position as a SOLB, placing a true LB on the field like Mitchell who can take the pounding inside. That way Miami has the right guy in the right spot to handle the opposing team's best TE, it has its best cover LB where he needs be protected behind Soliai and has a stronger ILB playing closer to Starks. Now Miami has range to handle both the inside run, it can still blitz from the outside, and it has an effective backup for Wake in Taylor so that their primary rusher is always fresh rather than relying on Taylor to play huge minutes. I think Miami has the personnel to run that hybrid D and get more out of their best players.

I don't think the Browns are as bad as they've looked the last two weeks, but if anyone is good at coming in well short of their potential, it is the Browns.

I think we win this game. We should have lost the last two games - both teams were better than we are. This is the first game against a team we should be able to beat.

If not for some issues in the red zone, our last two weeks look much more competitive - meanwhile, the Browns' struggles have been a team effort. I think we stop Hillis and force Colt into some mistakes.

Just have to watched out for Evan Moore and Josh Cribbs.

This brings up an interesting question I always had. This cleveland browns team only existed for a few years. The previous cleaveland browns are now the Baltimore Ravens. So in the NFL, a team moves, changes its name, and abandons all history?

Why is Houston Oiler history still attributed to the Titans?

I know there was an agreement to do so. But I find it funny that a teams records, pedigree and history can be legislated by agreement.

Do you know how much work it was for the Browns to lose all those years? I mean, the team moved to Baltimore and it only took them a few years to screw it up and win a Super Bowl. The Browns had to make sure nothing like that would tarnish their record.

    Hi Guys, Cleveland fan here.

Was just wondering if there are any Phins players to keep an eye on during the game?

For Cleveland you'll want to watch Josh Cribbs (#16) -- He is the heart and soul of the team, and seems to be the only guy that can give the team a boost almost on command. You'll also want to keep an eye on Joe Haden (#23) at corner, kid seems like he's going to be a star and he had a bit of a down-week against the colts so he'll probably come out with a chip on his shoulder.

Besides that the Browns went real young -- so on any given week (quarter really) they are capable of playing way over their heads, or looking like a pop-warner practice squad.

Too much inexperience on the browns side to even make a prediction... could see this one going either way.

Anyways -- Here is hoping for no major injuries to either team. Have a good week and maybe talk w/ you on Sunday!

Excellent point. Hell Bill Belichick couldn't win there. He made it to the Playoffs once but even that is a disappointment.

I will be in utter shock if Miami loses to Cleveland. Miami is a much better team. Cleveland lost to the Bengals for God's sake. What is the line? I'd guess it's even.

I believe we are 2.5 pt favorites.

Anywho, the thing about this game is this is not an untalented Browns team, they do have guys like Cribbs who can swing a game things are close late in the game, and Watson has had a rebirth in Cleveland, Marcus Bernard had a Cam Wake 09 season in 10, lots of pressures in a handful of snaps.

That is what makes this a good test for us

Offense: Thomas the Rookie RB looked great and had 100 yards after missing the first game with a hammy and looking so-so in the preseason. Henne's play is the main focus of debate here. Long has been rusty after missing the off season with an injury. Bush is fun to watch if they use him (they didn't last week). Marshall is the best player on the O, unless of course Long can get back into form.

Defence: It’s fun to count the new and interesting ways Wake gets held each week. Sean Smith’s name hasn’t gotten called much this year, he’s a CB so that’s a great thing for him. JT is back had a sack last week (should have had two). I’d say as a Browns fan, your probably going to most enjoy watching the play of whomever is in at nickel or free safety, they should provide you with great pleasure.
