This is a thread dedicated to nothing but Good News after every Phins game, and getting tougher and tougher to do. Seth, it's not the Fame & Fortune of a Game Day thread but, you are more than welcome to give it a try. Without further ado, here we go. Daniel Thomas had a VG game. It's very early but, he looks to be all we hoped for. His fumble was a great play from the D, helmet on the ball, and I don't know of any RB who would have held on. Mike Pouncey again. He followed up an impressive first game with a second. He could well fit in with our history of great C's. I read, from Barry Jackson, that Pat Albert looked him up after the Pats game just to tell him how well he played in pass protection. He had no reason whatsoever to do this other than it was deserved. He looks to be special, and a VG pick. Vernon Carey played well. He is adapting quickly to playing G, and it appears to be a good move. Incognito played well. He did not have the penalty problems as in game #1, and put in a very solid performance. Brandon Fields had another great game. His problem is out kicking his coverage, which I can live with. Cam Wake had another sack, put pressure on the QB, and may well be our best play maker. JT had a sack, and also pressures on the QB. Amazing what the guy has left at age 37. I also thought Sean Smith played pretty well. That's all I got. Anyone else?
Daniel Thomas looked good I agree. Hopefully we can run early and often against the Browns because they have a pretty solid secondary.
-No torrential downpours. The weather was great. -Field crew did a great job with the sod. -No one near me died. That's all I got for now.
The Dolfan Bandits face paint didn't melt off in the heat. There wasn't a "Lets Go Texans" or "Defense!" chant when the Dolphins were on offense. Nobody tripped on the Orange Carpet. Matt Ryan threw 4 Touchdowns. Crap, wrong draft pick. (I had to...) Dolphins had a 100+ yard rusher. Jason Taylor moved past convict Lawrence Taylor on the All-Time sacks list. Both my Fantasy teams are 2-0 (2 games ahead of the Dolphins...) The Marlins are almost done. But when they leave, so do their two modern championship banners.
I'd hate to vomit actual puke instead of rainbows but why should anyone look for moral victories now?
- Henne continued to do well going through his progressions and looking deep first. He also continued to show the improved athleticism and ability to slide around in the pocket and running for yards when nothing is there... - Gates continues to make a habit of getting behind the defense. He did it again yesterday and if not for the pass interference, would have had 40 yards, if not more, after the perfect pass from Henne.
The sad part is, I should'nt have even had to have put that, had something happened differently in January of this year.
Gates should be included, with no stats. He just keeps blowing by defenders and will become a hell of a weapon. This draft looks REALLY good.
I buy donuts for my office every time the Dolphins win. Looks like I'm going to save about $90 and lose some weight this year. That's good news. I guess.
JT is showing that despite his age he can silll bring it as situational pash rusher .He never should have been allowed to leave in the first place. We needed him last year when Wake was being doubleteamed. Will Allen had a solid game.Another player who should not have been cut. Thomas had a good showing and is proving he was worth his high draft pick.Ditto with Pouncey . Fields had another field day . No satelitte junk fell on the stadium.
We ran a no-huddle. Not well enough to catch the Texans with too many men on the field, but we did. Henne is incredibly tough. That shot he took while scrambling should have prompted Sparano to pull him for at least a series to evaluate him. He was rocked and probably has a concussion.
Daniel Thomas had a promising start. He had the fumble (it's a byproduct of his upright running style, IMO), but he also displayed a nice burst and some tackle-breaking ability. Chad Henne displayed good resiliency out there, despite having a less-than-spectacular outing. The interception was one of those flukey things, and his receivers were all over the board, sometimes bailing him out with great plays, other times dropping sure passes. In the past in a game like this I think Henne folds up. It was encouraging to see he didn't do that today. Clyde Gates is going to house a catch this season.
1) Brandon Marshall made a nice catch over Joseph for 29 yards, then gave Allen a nice stiff arm to get into the endzone. 2) Jason Allen isnt on the Dolphins anymore... Although I dont know if I would rather have him or Carroll. 3) A bunch of Japanese people didnt rush the field and kill the team. Caution: South Park contains some adult language. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wpFdAFOFCoI&feature=related
A few more than one IMO. We finally had the timing down from Henne to Gates in Week 2, but PI prevented it. Its coming IMO... and soon.
Hahah I was wondering about what would happen if one fell on something or someplace important. If it falls on me, I promise I'll come back as a ghost and haunt this damn franchise and that stadium until they win a Super Bowl. We shall all take that oath. (For those who haven't heard: http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2011/09/19/earlyshow/leisure/gamesgadgetsgizmos/main20108223.shtml)
Woah, woah, woah,..I've already got a lot on my plate in the afterlife. What with all the trying to release myself from samskaras and whatnot. I don't want to have to reincarnate just to see a bunch of psychos have confetti thrown on them(unless Rip Taylor is the one doing the throwing). Or have you forgotten the pain of being born? I didn't think so... ... ... I'll go as far as haunting a brunch in club liv, maybe a film session...
