real simple.... He comes out for warm ups looking like a coach... Good look. Ready for business. Then for some reason he feels the need to come back out looking like a shlub when the game starts. He looks sloppy. He looks like he rolled out of bed and just got to the game. The team plays like he looks.... And that was just yesterdays game. He does this for every game! Kinda like the wearing of wind and rain gear on a 90 degree sunny day.... The team is a direct reflection of Tony. Unprepared. Undisciplined. Uncoordinated. Unprofessional. They just don't look good.
Hmm..I get what you're sayin'..I think..but if the team play is a direct reflection of the coaches attire, then the Patriots would look like they're all taking naps while wearing snuggies
I don't think Sparano has the football IQ to be a successful head coach in this league. His low brow manner of speaking hints at deficiencies in this area. I'm convinced the 11-5 season had much more to do with Chad Pennington than it did Tony Sparano.
He wears polos on the sideline until it gets cold. However, he has earned the right to dress that way.
Triple Fist Pump. I do think that the reason Belichick can at least get away with it is that he is a brainiac. He's like an eccentric, evil professor. You can get away with that look. If you are not (and TS is anything but a smart guy), if you are trying to promote toughness & professionalism, then there is a legit point to the OP. But, ultimately, it's TS who is just not smart enough to be a head coach in the NFL.
I don't think it's got anything to do with Tony's apparel. But I get what you're saying, its how he prepares the team. Im sorry, but 3 years have passed, and we're still failing to put together a complete game on O, D and ST, we still make the same old stupid mistakes on the field, and on the sidelines with poor usage of timeouts etc. etc. That stuff is somewhat acceptable in year one as a new head coach, but in year 4 now... its still unchanged? That's a problem. Even Ross has to see it. If he doesn't, someone better be telling him. It needs to stop. Either that means Sparano gets his stuff together and gets everyone on the same page, and disciplined, including himself, or it means someone else has to be brought in to make it stop.
We're losing because of Sparano's wardrobe? Really? If the edge of sanity is three feet away, this thread launched itself out of a cannon, and overshot that distance by a mile. Ross can increase ticket sales if they had a Prozac Day for the fans.
So the fix is not to get a new coach but to dress up Tony in a suit and tie...hmm Then the Dolphins will block better on the O-Line, WR won't drop passes, QB will improve accuracy, the DL will get some pressure on the QB and stop the run, the LBs will be able to cover TEs and the secondary...well, the secondary will probably continue to make mistakes until we get some better players. Or maybe the players should sport a suit and tie over their uniform so they will step up their game.
Maybe if he made halftime adjustments like he adjusted his wardrobe we'd be money I'm trying to think of any game we've won in the last 4 seasons where we just went in and handed a team their own ***. The birth of the wildcat, and a couple years ago when we beat the crap out of Buffalo. Other than that, we've never had games that we won "comfortably". It's always been a struggle to dominate other teams. Get that man some Van Husen!! haha
Christ on a crutch is this what we've come down to, worrying about how the coach dresses? I'm hoping against all hope there was a [sarcasm][/sarcasm] around the OP.
You don't get it. Brandon got it... When you are trying to build something...this isn't the way to go. Everything we lack is visible in how Sparano handles himself. We are a reflection of him on the field.
Again...you missed it as well. There was more to that post than just pictures. Though I am not sure many here can read based on that is all they saw. Again....Look at the bottom of the thread.
I don't think a lot of people are seeing the sarcasm from the original poster, and are taking it seriously. That said, I've beaten the drum of a new coach & GM since last Dec. Glad to see a lot more people here are crazy, because that was what I was called for months for wanting a regime change this past off season.
The problem with Sparano is that he just doesn't have a clue when it comes to being a head coach in the NFL. After the game yesterday, when he was asked by a reporter about why the Dolphins have gone 1-11 in their past twelve home games. He responded by stating, "I don't have any answers for it". As a head coach in the NFL, it is his responsibility for not only seeing what the problem is, but also figuring out solutions which fix the problem. Since Sparano admits that he doesn't know how to resolve the problems with the Dolphins, Ross should take this as his opportunity to show Sparano the exit door.
Sparano said he would take this team to the next level with or without the fans. Looks like he won't be making that journey after all.
If Sparano came out in a Tux it wouldn't make any difference. Now if he came out in a rabbit suit maybe we could beat the other team while they laughed themselves silly.
Listen to an interview with Belichick and then listen to an interview with Sparano. Its like listening to a doctor vs a truck driver - There is no comparison. I don't care what my doctor looks or how he carries himself as long as he is an expert in the field
if you notice, all those pics are pregame during warmsups. Please read the initial post. He changes out of that before the game. Fwiw...Belicheck wore the polo the entire game Monday night.
Personally I think it has to do with Tony losing all that weight. If he would have kept the pounds on he would be a Superbowl contender.
It wouldn't surprise me if Ross was behind this. I mean, who changes their cloths between warmups and game time? I bet Ross is having him wear all the different apparel available in the Dolphins Pro shop to sell merchandise!
You keep stating this, but I hate to break it to you, articulate people can be stupid also. In fact its an easy way to mask ones own "deficiencies"
I completely agree that the team is a reflection of Tony Sparano on the field. I completely disagree that how Tony Sparano dresses impacts in any way the product on the field, which is what I inferred from the original post.
Tony Sparano knows hes a lame duck HC, and Im sure deep down he knows he's in over his head and isnt HC material. His face annoys me. his voice annoys me, and his football team annoys me. Other than that, its awesome being a Phins fan.
I will give you props after game 5 for being so clairvoyant about this staff, if it all goes downhill.
