How so? Ponder has a history of shoulder injuries. Weeden's shoulder injury was like 5 years ago. The stress on the shoulder as a QB is much less significant than that of a power pitcher.

Still too early. But, based on size/speed and stuff like that I'd say the chalk bet would be on 2nd/3rd-ish area.

Just an update as most of these guys have played two games, though some have still only played one game.

    Two-Game QBs
    Andrew Luck: 37 of 54 (68.5%) for 461 yards (12.5 YPC), 6 TD (11.1%), 1 INT (1.9%), 2 Sacks (27.0x), 124.1 QB Rating
    Ryan Lindley: 23 of 45 (51.1%) for 349 yards (15.2 YPC), 5 TD (11.1%), 0 INT (0.0%), 1 Sacks (45.0x), 114.0 QB Rating
    Matt Barkley: 54 of 77 (70.1%) for 568 yards (10.5 YPC), 4 TD (5.2%), 1 INT (1.3%), 1 Sacks (77.0x), 103.2 QB Rating
    Brandon Weeden: 66 of 92 (71.7%) for 785 yards (11.9 YPC), 5 TD (5.4%), 4 INT (4.3%), 2 Sacks (46.0x), 97.4 QB Rating

    One-Game QBs
    Ryan Tannehill: 21 of 26 (80.8%) for 246 yards (11.7 YPC), 2 TD (7.7%), 0 INT (0.0%), 0 Sacks (--), 131.7 QB Rating
    Landry Jones: 35 of 47 (74.5%) for 375 yards (10.7 YPC), 1 TD (2.1%), 0 INT (0.0%), 0 Sacks (--), 104.5 QB Rating

I can say that I watched all of Lindley's first game against Cal Poly and most of his second game against Army. The elite completion percentages continue to elude him, but when I watch him, I'm not seeing inaccuracy red flags. He does clearly miss some throws. But, I'd say 80% of all his throws are play-action passes, which carry a higher difficulty level in terms of completing them. His receivers drop the ball or they're not on the same page and so they're not where they need to be. I woudln't say he has elite accuracy because he does miss, and on some throws you see some placement issues...but this is not the kind of accuracy that would prevent a guy having 60% completion in most other offenses (including NFL), or even 70% completion in one of those spread type offenses. Weird. Take note though of the low interception rate, the high touchdown rate, and the very high yards per completion of 15.2 average. Like I said, 80% of his passes (and this isn't an exaggeration) are play-action, so he has a very aggressive role in the offense complementing Ronnie Hillman who is a fantastic college level runner and could be an underrated pro. Even in the pros, I'd say that play-action passes are at most 1 in 3, even in heavily play-action based offenses. He's throwing play-action passes and turning his back to the defense probably on 3 of 4 passes.

As for the interception percentage, he does make some mistakes in decision-making so he's not bullet proof that way, but it should be noted that in his last 4 games he is 63 of 98 passing for 963 yards, 11 TDs and 0 INTs, 1 Sack. That's a stretch of 4 games with a 134 QB Rating in a play-action based offense that doesn't use hardly any of the spread type passes that even the NFL uses in order to bolster a guy's completion percentage while cutting down on turnovers.

He's my top senior, while Andrew Luck and Matt Barkley battle it out (not much of a battle, really) for top underclass.

FSU is fullfilling a crapload of passes for the OU vs FSU game.

I think the total number is 300 with damn near every NFL team represented. Yeah the Fins have passes.

Because Ponder is 5 years younger. I am sure some teams are willing to over look injury history on younger prospects....

Lattimore with another huge game. I'm worried they're gonna run him into the ground before he gets drafted, though.

TE Dwayne Allen (Clemson) looks outstanding.
He runs solid routes; has enough speed to get down field. Seems to have great awareness & football smarts, and is constantly coming up with big receptions. Good teammate; competitive. Has reliable hands and has good enough balance, body control, and plucking ability to make the tough grab. Has strong hands in traffic and goes after the ball well; decent vertical with high point ability over a shorter defender or less athletic LB. Has enough athleticism & agility for yards after the catch. Reliable blocker.

He doesn't quite have Rob Gronkowski's elite potential, but he's a definite upgrade over Fasano and his skill set is an ideal fit in Daboll's offense IMO. I already want him with our 2nd round pick. lol.

Sammy is a bad boy...The quickness in his reflexes to turn upfield once the ball touches his fingertips is extraordinary, its mustsee tv..and Dwayne allen is a big *** tight end that can run, and jump, and catch... and run, and jump, and catch..Really good football player.

Brock Huard did an interesting breakdown of Barkley & Luck which pretty confirms what you are saying. The biggest gap between the two is in critical, high pressure situations where Barkley's stats really fall off and Luck excels:

    Player...............Rating......Completion % (Based on 2010 season)
    Barkley total......141.2.......63
    Barkley 3D........104.6.......55
    Barkley 4Q........95.4.........45
    Luck total..........170.0.......71
    Luck 3D............177.5.......71
    Luck 4Q............185.5.......72

For me, when you look at Luck in this light, its what puts him head and shoulders above any other QB in college football right now

:knucks: Allen tacked on some more plays against FSU. His fully stretched catch for a 1st down was phenomenal. Great route runner. Always comes up big. Team Captain. I probably already said it, but Allen's my 2nd round pick.

Tajh Boyd is looking like a potential 2nd rounder if he keeps progressing, and he's only a sophomore.
Clemson's offense should be loaded for the next 5 or 6 years with Chad Kelly QB, Germone Hopper WR, Zac Brooks WR, and four 4star Olinemen joining the current crop of freshman and sophomore. It'll be sick if they can close out the nation's #1 ranked RB Keith Marshall.

How much are those 4-5 star recruits getting paid to play at Clemson?

none. That's why this team is playing so well. They came because they believe in Dabo and bought into the program.

If we paid those guys, then Jadeveon Clowney would also be a Tiger. :tongue2:

He would be a great pick up. I think he makes it to at least the mid second since he's 6'3 and doesn't have elite speed.

A couple of Tight Ends I'd have my eye on would include of course Coby Fleener the guy everyone is watching, but also Brian Linthicum and Josh Chichester. And if Christian Fauria's kid comes out early, I'd love to take him up. Beast.

Allen would represent our highest pick at WR/TE/RB since 2007, no?

Couple of prospects I watched in isolation on tape this morning, forward and back, forward and back on the old clicker, Matt Kalil and Vontaze Burfict.

Kalil is legitimate. I mean, he's seriously good. Footwork, movement, knee bend, strength, ability in the open field, kickslide. He has it all.

Burfict is a big hitter but man is he leaden footed at times. He takes a LOT of poor angles and he has issues with disengaging.
