The moment they signed Jason Taylor they sealed their fates. I love the guy, but he's become the angel of death. He was gone for a year and we had a top 6 defense, he returns and we give up over 600 yards in our first game. He buried Jimmy, Wanny, Saban and Cam Cameron, and he'll bury Sparano this season

The way I see it going down is that if Sparano goes at the bye, Ross backs up the Brinks truck and Cowher becomes the first $10M Head Coach. He takes over the team until at least the end of the season, then blows up the FO and brings in good personnel people and a GM or VP who is strong on personnel; a Tom Heckert type. Then he lets that guy lead the search for a new HC; Nolan could well be in the mix, or Cowher could even hand the reins to him himself. Cowher then assumes the Prez role, kind of like Parcells except with integrity and good judgment.

Or, if Sparano lasts until after the next NE game, things could go slightly differently, but the net result would be the same.

But I put the odds of Sparano being fired before season's end at 100%. And that's not some reaction to Monday night—I've said that since before TC started.

Holy **** that made me laugh.

Hard to argue that. He wasn't an effective pass rusher last season either but stumbled his way into a handful of big plays during the course of the season. Hopefully they weren't expecting anything more than that. Too bad his and Zach's careers were wasted with incompetent coaches and FOs.

I agree. Why not bring in David Shula if we're going by blood lines ?

Cowher and Gruden will both want complete control and that hardly ever works. I also question their drive after living the cushy life of broadcasting.

I love Rob Ryan as a coach. When there was speculation that Gary Kubiak was gonna be fired there was a lot of talk going around the boards hoping for Rob Ryan.

Surprised he didn't end up with a head coaching job. I am in no way saying you guys need to fire Tony Sparano but I think Rob Ryan could easily be a head coach in the NFL.

Sparano is a terrible coach, he's not good at anything. If we end up going 7-9 or worse I can definetly see Sparano getting fired after the season. There's a big chance Mike Nolan might leave after the season if he has another successful season if that happens we would have to find a HC and DC. If we can get a head coach who specialize on defense(a guy like Rex Ryan) we can kill two birds with one stone, maybe we can get Mike Nolan to feel that role.

Why does most people when they make a wish list of former NFL coaches they'd like us to get our next one from, not include Brian Billick? Maybe he isn't into coaching anymore? Other than Cowher, he had more success than any.

It's the hair and beard isn't it? He goes too far sometimes. He'd be the first to admit it. :) Old vague movie references aside, I've always taken him as being satisfied just running his own defense. Rex was mentioned as HC material for several years before getting his gig. Outside of us here of late, I cannot recall anyone ever including his name in a future head coach discussion.

Actually, I do not recall any head coach ever in the NFL with a beard and/or long hair. Wonder if that would be something an owner would tell him he had to clean up as a condition of being hired in that capacity?

Rex generally produced better defenses than Rob, though that could be partly due to talent on hand. It is true though, even being identical twins, does not make them totally the same as clones. There can be some significant differences between a set of twins. I saw it growing up since my dad was an identical twin. General personalities were much the same, but things each were most talented at, there were some clear differences, as if not related to one another at all.

On that note, we do hope the Pounceys share many more similarities than most sets of twins. So far, it looks promising.

Did you know Rob Ryan's real first name is Remus? How cool is that? Wonder why he doesn't go by it? I can just hear it now, over the Miami PA system when he is first introduced...Miami Dolphins Head Coach....Remus Ryan. Old Buddy must of been a fan of those Uncle Remus stories as a young lad. ;)

I was wanting Rob Ryan at first but he isnt as good as Wanny and wanny won more games then any coach since but I have to say if we get blown out in four of the next four games then I will focus on the coaching situation. Also remember that Mr Ross was alledgedly a jets fan and he said recently he still likes the jets so maybe we just need a new owner. ok that may have been lame but I am leaning on the side of thinking its the owner and gm more then head coach. Dont forget that Ireland and Sparano still has some hard feelings after the Harghbaugh fiasco

    UOTE=Darrelle Revis;1577201]You guys giving up already?[/QUOTE]

I hate to admit it, but I gave up on Sparano and Ireland after last season. That is why I did not renew my season tickets for the first time in over 40 years. I thought there was hope when Ross flew to California to try and hire Harbaugh. Once Ross returned to Miami and Harbaugh signed with the 49er's, my hopes were dashed. It is hard to have faith in a coach which the owner obviously wanted to get rid of. Fifteen more games and I see Ross finally doing what he should have done after last season. It is tough to have so little faith in a team I have followed for over 40 years, but there is nothing about Sparano or Ireland which inspires me as a fan.
