Sapp and Carroll were god awful. But Davis, Smith and Jones weren't too much better. The entire defense looked like they were believing their own press clippings. Uninspired, even down to the playcalling.
Acted like he didn't care. Teammates were ripping his a** and all he had was a blank stare. Disappointing.
At least Sapp made a big play forcing that interception, Carroll didn't do a one damn thing all night, honestly might have been one of the worst DB performances by a Dolphin I can recall. He was THAT bad. But yea Sapp should follow Carroll right out that door.
True it was Tom Brady but at this point Carroll has not really flashed anything and can only play outside. Pick up Allen and see if Wilson can play in the nickel during practice. On the TD pass against Wilson it looked like he bit on the playaction. Carroll doesnt have a future that I can see.
I never had high hopes for Sapp. Carroll is a big disappointment to me, though. I really thought he'd be further along by now. I tell you... our secondary plays with absolutely no intensity, no physicality, and makes it all too easy for WRs. To understand what I mean, all you have to do is look at how a New England rookie corner out-muscles Brandon Marshall in the endzone and forces a field goal. That's how it's done. I'm really tired of watching our secondary play soft.
After they started targeting Carrol when they saw the weakness Carrol seemed to start to give up. Young I know but you can't smile after getting burned like he did he needs a mental coach or a new job. I saw at least to occasions that his own teammates were getting on him, they all knew it
Carroll honestly looked so lost out there...like he had no clue what he should be doing. Here's a hint...if you're not sure of the defense, then play man to man! And more importantly..hustle your punk-*** over to your assignment..the Patriots offense isn't going to wait for you to get lined up ya jackwagon
I'd hang on to Carroll, he's young, he's hopefully learning. You dont expect to have to regularly play your 4th/5th string CB against the patriots starters and expect them to be stellar. We should keep that in perspective. Benny Sapp on the other hand, he's the 3rd corner, you do expect him to be able to contribute regularly. He did tonight, on one play. That's in. It's Ginn-like to me. He needs to go.
Hey, you guys should just be glad we kept these two on the team and got rid of Lousaka Polite. After all, when will we ever have a critical short yardage situation where we need to be able to run the ball or threaten to run it?
