Wow, you my friend have a good memory fro the dregs of this franchise. Can you imagine lining up an offense that featured that 0-line w/ Goodwin at TE lol. Sad thing is we almost did!
Yeah and I said he came from St. Louis, he actually was with Seattle for several years. We picked him up from Buffalo
I think the list should also reflect the men who helped shape these P.O.S. onto this list. How about some coaches. Jimmy Johnson for our worst playoff embarassment and quitting on us after that. What about Wanny and his absolute and complete waste of our D in it's prime. How can you forget how he crapped on Dan and basically ran him out? Definately "Mr. I'm not going to coach at Alabama!" And with the foul tast of last year still in my mouth, the unnamed man who led our beloved Dolphins to their worst season ever!!! I know some of you will say they're not players, but they're just as much Dolphins as the men on the field!!!!!
JJ was responsible for bringing some of the best talent we had on our team, but yeh he did quit on us. And Wanny was a good coach, he was just too nice, and too unwilling to clean house when he knew he should have. IMO, Saban brought in the worst talent we have ever had .
I feel we need to add our #1 pick which was Sammy Smith, what a let down he was. Maybe he still in jail, not sure tho!
Tony Martin only had one ball that was catchable - a fly pattern that landed in his hand, in stride. He had no, absolutely, no heart.
David Boston comes to mind that is not in the list, he never did anything after being signed as a big time free agent. Dave Wannstadt was much worse to this team than Saban.
My list: QB: Ray Lucas, Jim Drunkenmiller RB: Sammie Smith, Cecil Collins, Bobby Humphrey, Lawrence Phillips WR: Derrius Thompson, Scott Miller, David Boston, Cris Carter, Larry Shannon TE: Eric Green, Donald Lee OL: Billy Milner, Eddie Blake, Grey Ruegemer, Greg Johnson, Taylor Whitley, Todd Wade K/P Uwe Von Shankmann, Dale Hatcher DL: Lyman Smith, Eric Kumerow, Aaron Jones, Manny Wright LB: Jackie Shipp, Aubrey Beavers, John Grimsley, Eddie Moore DB: African Grant, Reggie Howard, Omare Lowe, Micheal McGruder, Donovan Rose Worst of the worst: Dale Hatcher, Cecil Collins, and Jim Drunkenmiller
I was scrolling through the whole thread to see if anyone mentioned David Boston. I can't believe I almost made it through to the end without seeing his name.
Lol. Man did that guy have talent. Threw it all way because of steroids, wanted to get bigger. What a dumbarse.
Check this out they have David Boston's info under Aaron Halterman's page on the Dolphins website. I hope it is not a curse. http://www.miamidolphins.com/newsite/team/roster/playerBio.asp?docid=14874
This is absolutely untrue. Tony Martin had a great career. His career stats: receptions: 593 yards: 9065 average: 15.3 TDs: 56 Compare to Mark Duper: receptions: 511 yards: 8869 average: 17.4 TDs: 59 It's just sad that the Chargers got his best years. What he and Dan could have done... Here look for your self: http://www.pro-football-reference.com/players/M/MartTo00.htm I really don't get where this stuff about Martin is coming from. It's crazy, talking about the worst Dophins and you pull Tony Martin as name?
Young fella, you can't look at stats and tell what kind of player he was in Miami. When he returned here in 99, he had speed and that was all. Leslie Sheppard, a career journeyman, played with more heart than Tony Martin.
After looking through the list a few thoughts - I don't think Yatil Green should have been removed. Yeah, injury stopped his career, but a player we invested 1st round dollars in and never saw the field has to be considered one of the worst right? An inability to stay healthy is part of what makes a bad player a bad player. We're not trying to be nice here are we? I didn't think Derrius Thompson needed to be on the list. Yeah, he wasn't very productive, but I seem to remember him making some pretty good catches on the few passes that were throw his way. I think the worst WRs are guys like Hagan who consistently drop 3rd down passes. But the jury is still out on Hagan. Olividatti (sp?) definitely deserves mention as worst coordinator. I still remember the Tom Outofajobbie jokes.
