And honestly..we didn't really make the run a priority in the preseason...the coaches clearly wanted to see the passing game get in sync
I honestly think this is a good signing. We all know Reggies Durability issues and DT is a rookie which needs time since our OLine is not all that. I think LJ will really help Daniel Thomas Develop.
Don't you know that everything you need to know about a player is presented after four preseason games. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
It seems like this has been overlooked, but this was exactly my first thought. Clay hasn't been practicing and my guess is that he's going to miss the game. It would leave them scary thin at the RB position. It's important to note that Lex Hilliard is really important on ST's too, so his chances of getting dinged up are greater. Larry Johnson is being signed for that reason IMO.
I was on the john enjoying a nice break, open Tapatalk to discover a bunch of nonsense in here. You guys have ruined one of the few things I look forward to during my work day. Off-topic posts, attacks, and posts that are baiting other posters have been deleted. Keep it on-topic guys. No need to attack others.
I can see Miami releasing (then re-signing) Larry Johnson earlier for two reasons. To avoid that roster bonus that he was due is one of the reasons but also I think they wanted to weigh their other options with other cuts. Let's be honest, was Larry Johnson really in danger of being signed by another team? I don't mind what the team did.
OmarKelly Omar Kelly RT @andrew_b_carter: Larry Johnson reclaims No. 23 with #Dolphins. Clay & Daniel Thomas in shells, working with trainers due to injuries.
As a charter member of the 30 member strong, Stringer's Work Dumps Fan Club, I say, speak for yourself.
Sheesh. I thought we made it out of the preseason relatively unscathed. Now, we've got two injuries in a group that is below average and we are thin at.
Here is the reason for the signing: Dt and Clay are likely to miss the game, or at least not be 100%, I just hope we finally catch a real break and LJ blows up the pats on MNF
Now it all makes sense why Dolphins fans would ***** about the Johnson signing. It would have been better to sign no one.
JeffDarlington Jeff Darlington I'm told RB Daniel Thomas tweaked his hamstring Wednesday, leading to the decision to sign Larry Johnson and hold Thomas out of practice.
JeffDarlington Jeff Darlington The Dolphins are being very cautious right now with Thomas. They'll continue to assess the hamstring. He is very legitimately day-to-day.
Heck they probably told LJ to keep his phone charged and not to go too far after they released him anyway.
So apparently this is insurance for Thomas being injured, and had nothing to do with all the LJ guaranteed contract stuff. Sounds about right. Not sure if that was commonplace anyway, since that seems like an easy way to get players/agents pissed off. Either way, I like it. Thomas isn't ready anyhow. I just don't see a lot of upside with the guy. Isn't fast and can't break tackles. What the **** is up with our second round picks?
Feinga was cut to make room though, John Jerry is the new Teflon Don, with Austin Spitler the consiglere.
LMAO.... these guys are a mess this offseason. Ireland needs to be drug tested. Too bad they can't simply resign one of the two vet backs we already had on the roster. The RB and OL situation has been handled..... well... the term cluster #!@* comes to mind.
Its no mystery .He was cut because of contract considerations .Money in other words. In addition Clay is nicked up and a backup is needed.
Derek, this doesn't make sense to me; as I understand it, a player doesn't start to collect checks on his contract until the regular season starts; week one...and he gets 16 identical checks throughout the season. So, whether a player signs at the beginning of the first week or just before game deadline, whatever that is, he's going to get his week one pay per his contract. Also, if contract was the consideration, they wouldn't have re-signed him until after the first game, since being under contract for the first game guarantees that contract for the season; again, as I understand it.
Why is resigning Larry Johnson after a couple of other RB get hurt, further proof this FO is a mess? I mean if you think getting rid of Ronnie and Ricky was stupid, fine, but what about this particular resigning is bad?
