:-) If you're going to post a video of yourself singing corny song parodies, it's best to have thick skin. This is my 3rd year doing it, and I've been made fun of MUCH more than this. Before the 2009 NFC Championship game, my song was featured on the Kissing Suzy Kolber blog, and I got ripped apart by probably a thousand people. A few dolphins fans calling me fat is no sweat! Vikings fans tend to like the videos (well, about 85-90% do anyway). Other team's fans obviously hate them. I'll tell you guys the secret to this all, though... For me, it's about blog promotion, though. Every time some fan from another team posts my link to make fun of me, that gives me another link from another site... Google and the other search engines loves that stuff. So if I'm willing to have fun, entertain some Vikings fans, and be made fun of by other NFL fans, it gives my blog a boost. If you search "Minnesota Vikings Blog" on google, The Viking Ship (my site) is in the top 4 or 5 that come up. I love my team, and I love writing about my team, and I want people to be able to read what I write... and this helps. And I'll admit... it's fun to act like a dork and goof around sometimes. That being said... I HAVE NO DAUGHTERS! :-) I'm only 10 years older than the youngest girl in that video, and everyone in these videos is at least 21 years old.
Why the hate for this guy? I get a kick out of it and appreciate the work put into it. Nice guitar collection too!
I don't hate him at all. And it was mean of me to call the girls fat and ugly. Especially when a couple of them are pretty hot. I have enjoyed every single one of his videos. I might have missed 2 or 3 last year. I love these the same way I enjoy watching a Larry the Cable Guy movie, or some Kevin James POS movie. I know they're going to be bad, and I love every minute of it!
That's actually pretty much what I'm going for, to tell you the truth. I've made around 40 of these videos now over the years on a TOTAL budget of probably less than $100. That includes cheap lights, fabric for a green screen, and whatever kinds of props I can pick up at the goodwill or Ebay (like other team jerseys, plastic helmets, etc). It's not like I'm trying to direct the next Thriller video or something. :-) As far as me looking old... well, I got nothing.
And yeah... it's true that I'm fat and ugly, but Monstblitz is right... some of those girls are pretty hot. :-)
I think you look phenomenal. Keep up the good work. I'd like to see more of the polo with untucked T-shirt look.
