I'd think so, but soo many guys are about to be cut, I kind of thought Ness would stick over Carroll but they must have liked what he did in 10, and the Return ability
I thought Allen would stick over both of them. Shows what I know. We'll just have to see if another team cuts a decent CB.
Pardon my French, but Ireland must be a real ball buster to deal with, 19 minutes to go before they have to be announced and he is shepherding cut depth guys like he wanted to keep them, as if these decisions were not made two days ago.
Just said the same thing, I'd hate to be in a FFL draft with Ireland he would be the guy who used all 12 minutes to make a selection even late in the draft.
I thought W Allen would stay. Other than than, no surprises. I expect we will add 3 or 4 players. I'm anxious to see who they may be.
I'd guess that Ireland isn't going to publish the list just yet...I'm sure the guys know by now, but he's playing that Tuna game of keeping things close to the vest...
Eh, to me it is a toss up, I do think Moore can play, but I also think Livas offers more of what we need right now.
Forgot about Livas. Would be hard to cut him, he was the main returner all preseason. Unless the team wants Gates to do it.
Livas took damn near 100% of the returns for both punts and kicks this preseason. Would be tough to cut him and then just toss Gates into the role without giving him the preseason touches (at least for PR). And jesus I don't want to see Bess back there anymore.
True, then again Gates is the better Wr, to me Livas makes it if they only see Moore as the #6 Wr, who won't play, so go with the Returner instead as he will have 100 or more touches so you are better off going with them
Well, damn, not happy about that one as we are not in attack mode in all phases of the game, Sparano was not true to that vision.
Hmm, quicker on that edit button maybe...: 17 left to go, ps is normally 8 guys or so, but there is no real limit on how many they can sign for it.
First, Bess is a ok PR, not a good one. Second, Livas showed something in returns that Bess can't do (return for a TD). Third, Livas handles both KR and PR and is a potential threat to break one. Bess was adequate on PRs, not good on KRs and is too valuable in the passing game to use for returns. I guess, since we don't know at this point about the remaining WRs, Moore and Wallace showed something more to the braintrust. Gates has to make this team now...I like Moore a bit more than Wallace, but Gates gives us more of what Moore does than Wallace, who is more like Marshall...
What ?? Our problem last season was that Bess, Hartline and Marshall were all possession guys with not much speed. Hartline showed he can fool the DBs once in a while and get open deep, but he's by no means a speedster. Bess is slower than either of those two, by a lot. Bess is an underneath guy. He can play the slot very well, but we used him outside last year because Hartline faltered some after a good start to the year...Things will be different with Gates this year, imo...
Ok, we'll agree to disagree there. He might make one guy miss, but the first guy to touch him brings him down. I just think we need to do better than Bess and as you said, he's more of an integral part of the passing game...
