Can't really fault them. Those two teams have made noise while we and Buffalo haven't. That said -- and I keep harping on this -- I don't see what makes the Jets such a lock. They didn't get better. If anything, they regressed at some positions. It's all riding on Mark Sanchez getting better.
This. They didn't improve their pass rush and they got older at Receiver. How they are suppose to be improved is beyond me.
Mr Clean I really like most of your post but I must take umbridge with this post because just because the media doesnt talk about us mean its a good thing for the fanchize . just look at the Marlins nobody ever talks about them and they never win and Honestly I dont want My Miami Dolphins to end up like the Marlins where no one wants to play for them. I have never seen a team that is so disliked to just jump up and make noise. I love it when the media respects us it makes me feel like we are a great franchize. I care about every aspect of this franchize Merchindise sales , new fans and a full stadium means we are a good place for players to play. I love the fanbase except for the stuborness to change in order to become even better. I dont know about anyone else but when i used to see people in my wear dolphins gear it makes me feel not so isolated so I hate for us to be the laughing stock of league we are the dolphins and we should be wanting and embracing popularity so our team doesnt become the Marlins . this may not make sense but I love when our guys wins awards and when our franchise gets good pub because it gives me a sense of pride and I fear we are becoming more like the old Detroit Lions . I can see why you and others would want the disrespect and normally if its 3 or 4 guys dissing us it makes me mad but if we prove them wrong and suprise them then thats good. Unfortunatley when 12 out of 13 people are saying we are not going to be good then we probally wont be good . just my honest view on this.
Aside from two world series the marlins never win. The medias job is to promote the game, to create davids and goliaths. That's what they do. It has no real bearing on what happens on sundays. Not saying they should hyping us as super bowl contenders, I mean the last time they did we went 7-9 and before that it was 9-7 in shulas last year.
The word is umbrage. To "take umbrage" means "To be displeased or offended by the actions of others". So I displeased or offended you huh?
I don't have a problem with the assessment of the Dolphins by these individuals. The Dolphins have been only a mediocre team for the last decade. They still have an inferior offensive line and Henne is still a major question mark going into the regular season. I also don't know how effective the running backs will be this season. While Bush may add some speed out of the backfield, he doesn't have a history of being a strong runner up the middle and he tends to miss regular season games due to injury. Thomas didn't show much during the pre-season and I am not sure that Bush and Thomas are an upgrade over Ronnie and Ricky. Especially with the offensive line continuing to be the weakest unit on the team. I don't see the Dolphins finishing any better than 3rd in the AFC East and I wouldn't be the least bit surprised if they don't finish behind the Bills in the division. I just am not sold on their offense and I don't see it being much better this season. I do believe they have a solid defense but I don't see the defense being dominate enough to make up for all the weaknesses on offense.
