Agree with everything except QB. I think Josh McCown beats out both Beck and Henne. But nothing at that position would surprise me.

I don't see anyway McCown doesn't start this season. Not only is he pretty good, but he's got year's of experience over the other guys

Every one of you has Daniels at CB...I just dont see it..my money would be in Goodman probably with Lehan a very close second. I take Silverphins lineup other than that.

i think i'm closest to what poco is suggesting.... my only idea is that Beck might be given an "opportunity" over McCown as the starter.... and i say this because i think Beck has more talent even though McCown has more experience. We KNOW what we're going to get with McCown, but still have to give Beck a chance.
I was listening to Sirius radio the other day and the two sports broadcasters were talking about McCown and they both agreed that McCown was a good QB and should be a starter in the NFL in the right system. This was not my opinion because I haven't personally seen him play just thought I would mention what they said. I would love to see Beck come out and play great but I have high hopes for Henne too.
i like Henne, and hope he has a future here... but i would like to think he won't really be a factor for competition until 2009...

Bro I think the same. I feel that he has all the tools to succeed in the NFL. He showed us in his rookie year that he can become accustomed to any gameplan thrown at him. For instance, we asked him to basically just dont throw the game away when he went out and sure he did mess up a few times but when we played the top defense at that time in Pittsburgh, he played VERY well imo. He went 14 for 23 with no picks that game. I know he has fumbling issues but hopefully we wont have to worry about that after the line is stabilized, which I think we will. The only problem lying is will he be given a fair chance here in Miami? I believe he may not because they want "their" guys.
Great post bro. I agree with the analysis. Like I said earlier, I feel like he has everything you need to be a successful QB but getting that chance is the question, especially after the new guys have been running everything in their sight out.
He's a veteran. Parcells hates rookie QBs and Beck still hasnt had the game slow down for him. Plus add in the fact that this may end up being the best offensive line he's ever played behind so there is a chance we will get the best play of his career
Personally I'd be happy if one turns out to be an NFL calibre QB. If we were lucky enough that two of the three turned out to be NFL calibre QBs, that wold be an unbelievable "problem" to have. Training Camp just took on a whole new level excitement and anticipation. Like Sparano said, "It's a clean slate, show me from Day 1." I'm not in anyone's camp personally, I just look forward to the best man winning out.
Here so we can see the whole roster. Below is a list of Miami Dolphin players by position. (Names in Italic were on the Dolphins 07' roster) If i missed any new UDFA or some of these players have been cut I am sorry. Offense QB John Beck Josh McCown Chad Henne Running Backs Ronnie Brown Ricky Williams Patrick Cobbs Jalen Parmele Full Backs Regan Mauia Boomer Grigsby Lex Hilliard Rolly Lumbala Wide Receiver Ted Ginn Jr. Derek hagen Greg Camarillo Ernest Wilford Tab Perry David Kirkus Davone Bess Jayson Foster (can't see him as an NFL QB) Tight Ends Justin Peelle David Martin Anthony Fasano Aaron Halterman Sean Ryan Matt Mulligan Offensive Line Vernon Carey Samson Satele Drew Mormino Julius Wilson Ickechuku Ndukwe Jake Long Trey Darelick Justin Smiley Ickechuku Ndukwe Donald Thomas Shuan Murphy Mike Byrne Dan Gore Daren Heerspink Defense Line Backers Joey Porter Channing Crowder Abraham Wright Edmund Miles Reggie Torbor Aykin Ayodele Kelvin Smith Charlie Anderson Junior Glymph Kelly Poppinga Defensive Ends Jason Taylor Matt Roth Quinten moses Phillip Merling Kendall Langford Lionel Dotson Derrick Robinson Rob Ninkovich Defensive Tackles Rodrique Wright Steve Fifita Vonnie Holliday Paul Soliai Jason Ferguson Randy Starks Defensive Backs Will Allen Travis Daniels Jason Allen Courtney Bryan Yeremiah Bell Renaldo Hill Michael Lehan Andre Goodman Joey Thomas Nathan Jones Keith Davis Will Billingsley Chris Crocker Scorpio Babers Kickers / Punters Jay Feeley Brandon Fields Dave Rayner Dan Carpenter
To add, he also has a history of being able to manufacture points and move the ball down the field. He's already in tune with the speed of the NFL game and that's the hardest thing for a QB to figure out. If he can just eliminate some of the mistakes that have haunted him with other teams, we could turn out to have a pretty good QB on our hands.
Same reason you start Green last year. Same reason McCown started over Jamracus last year. One he's the best going into the season and two you want to establish a new offensive system. You dont do that with rookies or second year players who still dont have the game slowing down for them and are going to be prone to blowing games with ill timed turnovers or missed reads. I guarantee you McCown will be light years ahead of the other two in understanding how to run the offense come week one. Beck or Henne would have to have the training camps of their lives to bench McCown. All things being equal McCown will start. Only if Beck or Henne is lighting it up in preseason do they stand a chance to start and even then I'm not sure
Ok, I'll give it a shot at the 53. Top players at each position are starters. Offense QB John Beck Josh McCown Chad Henne Running Backs Ronnie Brown Ricky Williams Jalen Parmele Full Backs Reagan Mauia Lex Hilliard Wide Receiver Ted Ginn Jr. Ernest Wilford Derek Hagen Marcell Reece Tab Perry Tight Ends Anthony Fasano David Martin Sean Ryan Offensive Line Jake Long Justin Smiley Samson Satele Sean Murphy Vernon Carey Drew Mormino Trey Darilek Donald Thomas Defense Line Backers Joey Porter Channing Crowder Reggie Torbor Jason Taylor Abraham Wright Aykin Ayodele Quinten moses Charlie Anderson Kelly Poppinga Defensive Ends Phillip Merling Vonnie Holliday Kendall Langford Rodrique Wright Lionel Dotson Defensive Tackles Jason Ferguson Randy Starks Paul Soliai Defensive Backs Will Allen Andre Goodman Jason Allen Yeremiah Bell Renaldo Hill Michael Lehan Travis Daniels Nathan Jones Keith Davis Kickers / Punters Brandon Fields Dan Carpenter Long Snapper: Denney Practice Squad: Davone Bess Kory Robinson Foster Heerspink Lane Mulligan Byrne I guess no one really knows at this point, but it is fun to try.
I think they brought the other 2 kickers in so they could trade Feeley, don't you? Why would the other 2 kickers be in camp, given how well Feeley kicked last year?
I thought he had the highest kicking % in the league last year, what would he need to do to prove himself? On the other hand, if you want to get value for him, this is the best time to get it... I agree, if there is a competition Feely wins hands down.
Well he might have had the highest kicking percentage but that doesn't mean that it isn't an open position. IMO, any time you have a team that wins one game in a sixteen game season, every position is up for grabs (no matter the stats). I think they brought in the competition because if theres a guy like Carpenter for example that proves to Bill and co. that he can do the same as Feely at a base salary, you can let Feely go and get Carpenter.
I would think we would at least try to get something for Feely in trade if Carpenter shows us something...
My take on bringing in kickers in camp when you have a good one already is that you're scouting for the future in case o0f injury. Obviously if th guy starts hitting 30 for 30 40 yards and out he'll be inconsideration but I think Parcells is just figuring out who he brings in in case of an ijury to Feely
Mine is pretty similar to Aqua4Ever04's... QB 1. John Beck 2. Josh McCown 3. Chad Henne RB 1. Ronnie Brown 2. Ricky Williams 3. Jalen Parmalee FB 1. Boomer Grigsby 2. Lex Hilliard WR 1. Henne is not starting at QB this year. Beck gets a shot before Henne. Also Merling won't start over Holliday...or Langford for that matter. I see Merling and Langford in a rotation with the vets starting. Daniels won't start over Lehan either in my opinion...and I don't see Bell healthy, but if he is I agree he starts Torbor beats out Crowder too...I see Crowder getting traded or cut...yeah you heard it here first.
