Will Allen tops my list, and he is finally scheduled to play. Surprisingly, Sapp did some good last week but, if healthy, Allen is much better. Charles Clay is my #2. He did nothing last week, and I really would like to see him do well. Daniel Thomas is #3. He flashed on the pass but, I want to see him for more than 4 carries Aside from those two, I would like to see Livas, Gates, Edds, and Wilson continue on what they did vs Atlanta. Your choices?
Reggie Bush, and Henne to look competent the entire time he is out there. I hear Chris Gamble isnt playing...if so Henne SHOULDDDDD torch the panthers. key word, should.
The OL, as much as coverage allows. Thomas and Bush, if Bush plays; their performance is largely dependent on the effectiveness of the OL, though. Last week Thomas ran into a brick wall between the tackles, what...five times?
Marshall, Gates, Odrick, OL, and of course the Henne-Moore angle.... oh and the Pouncey to QB exchange, he is having a rough go at it this week...even though it is pee-wee stuff....
To balance the books, I am trying to avoid mentioning Henne, and focusing on the other 89 players in camp. Bush is a great choice.
I want to see the oline open up some holes...that would put far more of my reservations to rest than anything relating to the passing game. Would love to see livas make another good return (10-20 yds on a punt? show us some consistent "above average" returns. Something we havent had in years...). Seeing a consistent comfortable henne would be nice, but I'm not worried about that yet. Would love to see Wilson and Jones on the field as soon as possible, hopefully against something other than 2nd and 3rd stringers.
Chad Henne.. Push on the oline.. Will allen.. Jason Taylor to see what kind of explosion he has.. Livas to make sure hes healed.. Special teams coverage.. Kevin Burnett. Basically all our offseason weaknesses that were addressed..
1a. Offensive Line - for obvious reasons. 1b. Offensive Line - again, for obvious reasons. The run-blocking was pretty poor from 1st to 3rd team against Atlanta last week. I was surprised Colombo pass-protected as well as he did, but again, he wasn't going against Ray Edwards. Let's see if he can duplicate it this week. Vernon Carey looked lost inside at RG. Pouncey was okay, as was Incognito, but nothing great by any stretch. 1c. Chad Henne - he needs to show better than he did last week. 4. Kevin Burnett & Karlos Dansby - can they get off blocks this week? I missed Channing Crowder a little bit last week watching Burnett play; hopefully I won't have to this week. 5. What the offense actually does with Reggie Bush and Brandon Marshall on the field. 6. Matt Moore - does he start putting pressure on Henne if Henne struggles?
See if Livas can consistently contribute as a returner. Take a few shots down the field to Gates. Carpenter hit a long field goal or two for confidence. Sapp vs. Allen Perhaps most of all see the OL create some holes out there for the running game.
Last week we saw flash from second or third tier players , I want to see similar from first tier palyers this week. I could make a preffered list , but really I want to see that from players who if they do that in a regular season game will impact enough to influence wins. Tony wants to see flash and so I .
I'm most interested in watching the OL and Bush running behind them. I thought last week that the run plays were often poorly designed based on how the defensive front was playing. Some of the blocks the backside guys were being asked to make, they could not make. You could see there no game planning going on in that regard. Apparently Henne was not allowed to audible, and the line calls seemed off too imo. Also interested in seeing Livas again and whether he can put together another strong game as a returner. Looking forward to seeing how JT looks again back in the aqua and orange.
I would like to see Jimmy Wilson make a few more plays again. We have alot of good players in the secondary but lack playmakers
we just need to see execution, plays strung together..We don't have the time to wait for this offense to catch up to teams that have been playing together for a while..have to be 2 and 2 at the bye.Get that extra week of practice and come out in sync against the jets... Its do or die time first quarter of this season and everyone involved on the team is under pressure to get it done..
On a serious note: -DC Cash make some FG's -Henne to look in command of the offense -Marc Colombo, put up or go time big fella -Pouncey in the shotgun -Murtha handling LT duty -a bit more from DTrain -Jimmy Wilson making some plays, longshot guys have to keep it up -Nolan Carroll playing better -Will Allen.
$hit, the entire first time. If they look like crap against 2010's worst team at home things are going to get ugly. Lot of pressure for a pre-season game.
Rightfully so, had high hopes for him coming into the season, his play allows Nolan to move SS24 to Safety.
That offense with that continuity, relative to our offense learning a new offense with no offseason?, man that's tough..I just want us to play them tough to the end and I'll be happy knowing that by the time we play them again, our offense will have time to come together..My expectations are 2 and 2 at the bye with that extra week of practice being critical to the rest of the season..
Damn it!!! I wanted Gronkowski in that draft...The guy is gonna be the best in the league sooner than later..
